The only place this is good for is a quick eyebrow threading. The people who work here are have not grasped the concept of customer service or customer satisfaction. This place is just awful. I set up an appointment ahead of time. I walked in a couple of minutes early. I waited about 20 minutes. When I say waited, I do not mean waited in a waiting room, I waited in an Indian clothing store. I was then told to go into this other room which generally did not appear clean. I sat in a barbers chair with no neck support and was instructed to lean my head back and she began. During my threading experience, the woman took off too much of my eyebrows without my consent and then went over one area so many times that not only did it hurt but it also left a cut on my face. within 12 hours of leaving this place, I broke out worse than I had ever experienced. I blame this solely on one major discovery I made while in the chair: I looked up during the threading process and saw the woman holding the thread in her mouth!!! I never break out from threading and must assume that the bacteria from her mouth had much to do with this unpleasant side-effect that lasted a solid two weeks! Terrible behavior, Their receptionist Sumedha Joshi was soooo rude to me and my mother. She kept looking at us in a very demeaning manner and giving us these scornful looks. While they were setting my jewelry she kept telling my mother to do it, she was like "You can help her!" and telling me "Honey you can do it yourself!!!" WHY THE HELL ARE WE PAYING YOU IF WE CAN DO IT OURSELVES????. This boutique really needs to teach Sumedha (their receptionist of ELEVEN years!!) some serious manners and learn to respect their customers. and not treat them like dirt!! They did not paint my hands and feet and they didn't do my nail-polish, we didn't bring those things since we thought they were going to give us those and they didn't even tell us to bring it and Sumedha is like "For your next performance make sure you have everything we don't provide these things!!!!" In a very bad-mannered tone. Well Smita's Boutique does not ever have to worry, since there is now way I will ever step foot into this unwelcoming environment. Worst service I have ever received in retail, would give 0 stars if I could. I came here to get a sari for my wedding, I explained I was having a simple non-traditional wedding, and the look I was given by the two sales associates were so judgmental. I was told my selections were not 'wedding' material, too bland. Simple wedding... simple dress... aren't I supposed to decide what I want to wear??? I was questioned about my fiancé not being Indian, not having a wedding in India, my whole experience was awful. One of them had a stupid smirk on her face, I looked at her and said, 'What?!? Why are you smiling at me like that????" and she says, 'That color doesn't look good on you' I didn't ask for your opinion... if I like it who cares???? Why do you have to put me down after I clearly told you I like this color??? When fitting me for the blouse, I wanted it a certain way, but Smita kept challenging my decisions. It came to a point where I looked at my mom and said, 'whatever mom, you decide because at this point I just don't care'. I really didn't care by the end, I just wanted to get out of there. One of the sales associate even challenged my dad on a dress size for my niece, she is small for a 4 year old and my dad got the appropriate size for her. The associate said it wont fit her and kept challenging him, finally I said 'you don't know what my niece looks like, it will fit her' and she says, 'ok, there are no returns after purchase'. Can you be anymore rude?? A customer even chimed in and said all children are different sizes, if it fits my niece we know, not the lady behind the counter. It was embarrassing being in there, being judged the whole time and having customers giving me sympathetic looks. The younger sales associate kept giving me dirty looks, i'm like really??? I had to come back to get my blouse, and I DREADED going back. Thank goodness I am done with that place. Bottom Line: Wedding shopping should be a fun experience and you guys ruined that for me. The whole time I was there was stressful. I felt like I was judged for not 'being Indian' enough. I have told ALL my friends and family not to shop here. This is a HORRIBLE store! My husband just had a shockingly bad experience at this store. We had bought 4 salwar suits for my mother (in her absence), and had guesstimated the size. Unfortunately, while two fit her, the other two did not. We needed to EXCHANGE - NOT RETURN - those 2 salwar suits for the right size, and were horrified at the rude behavior my husband received from the store owner, Smita, a little while ago (6/23/17)... Exchanges are routine at every clothing store in the area, and we were even happy to pay the difference in case the new ones cost more. Initially, she kept saying "No returns". After a while, when my husband managed to get it across that he was there to exchange, she grudgingly agreed. After selecting the right sizes, when my husband stepped up to the counter to pay (and paid the difference), she snapped at him again, using disparaging comments about our expectations etc. My husband politely pointed out how uncalled for Smita's reaction was, she just walked away while he was still talking. This is a business that needs to be avoided. Horrible is an understatement. If you cannot give your customers the respect they deserve, just shut shop. Dipa B. read more

I took a saree to this place for alterations and specifically asked for it to be ready by a particular date for a wedding, and was assured it would be ready in time, and I paid in full. ONE WEEK later I was called and told the saree wouldn't be ready in time. Now I have less time to get the alterations. Terrible customer service!! read more

Horrible service. I brought three bridesmaids and myself to get our saree blouses made here for my wedding. None of the blouses were stitched as we asked. They all have high backs. Mine in particular, was completely messed up. Rather than offer me a refund or try to fix it, one of the employees insulted me and said I gained weight. What I love the most about the experience is that she will do her best with every customer. I trust her to pick the best outfit for me that is in fashion but also fits my body type. My sister got her bridal makeup done recently and it was a disaster, it looked like she painted them white and added some colors of green and red. I am from a small town in India and even the beauticians there had done marvelous job during my wedding. Going to her was the worst mistake I made in my life.We didn't have time to correct that makeup before the reception and she had to sit for quite a while with that horrible look.My sister kept saying that she doesn't feel comfortable with that heavy makeup but she insisted on doing it her way and she charged almost $300 for that disaster .I don't think she is even trained to do anything else beside threading and applying henna. read more

They conveniently delete reviews...this is the experience I had sometime ago and they have deleted my reviews twice and therefore I am reposting my review what I had experienced sometime ago "I will give her negative rating if there was some. I happen to visit one of the stores nearby and decided to get my threading done from here. In our conversation i asked her if she did permanent hair straightening and she said yes. i asked her how much she will charge, she said $150 and i decided to go ahead with the straightening. She then called me and asked if i knew how much the price was to which i replied, you saw my hair and told me the price. My ordeal started with the weird look i got from her when i went there on the day of my appointment. She had called another lady who works next to her salon to do her job. I was not told about this. I always thought she would do it. Then this girl started with by putting in some stinking stuff on my hair and smita lit the incense sticks to get rid of the smell. She also started talking to her staff to observe how this lady straightened my hair. She did not have a flat brush. When this lady who was doing my hair asked for a flat brush, Smita said she did not have it. Then i gave her my brush (the brush that i carry in my purse). Her straightening rod pulled my hair in a bad bad way and they did not have another straightening rod. Then her hair dryer stopped working. After all this ordeal that i went through, and when i went to check out she charged me $300 and when i said you mentioned $150 she started humiliating me. On top of all of this, i was promised my hair will remain straight for about 6 months, it never happened. After 2 months i got my hair straightened again from somewhere else and it just came out perfect. Also, i just got to know that she does not have license to do what she is doing in her salon. She is just ripping off people . i have spread a word around to my friends to not go there as i am concerned about them. no one in my friends circle like to go to her anyways. i told my friends and they were like ...i would have never gone to this lady . they all know the quality of service she provides" read more

STAY AWAY! SAVE YOUR FACE! This is the worst place ever! Smita left a weird ITCH and SCAR ON MY FACE and I had to go to the DOCTOR's place for Itch, discoloration and that cost me big $$$ !!!! My whole eyebrows and upper lip area turned RED and kept itching for next 2-3 days. And while doing eyebrows she SPAT on my face! Where do I begin? This was the worst appointment I have ever had in my life. This place is way too unhygienic and the owner is downright RUDE. I had an appointment for 1:00 and reached there at 12:55 ( 5 minutes early). The owner Smita very rudely asked me to wait while she kept chit chatting on the phone. I waited there for 30 LONG minutes before she asked me to come in. I told her that I called and took an appointment and it was my lunch break but she very rudely responded saying, " ya ya we all are busy." What's the point of taking appointment when you have to wait there for half and HOUR !! I didn't say anything as I had to go to a party that evening and I did not know where else to go. While doing the eyebrows she kept talking on the phone, attending other customers, and kept spitting on my face. She made my Eyebrows too thin and I was left with a scar on upper lip as she cut my upper lip with her thread on 2 spots !!! immediately after the threading, my eyebrows and Upper Lip area started swelling up and turning blood red and I had a weird Itch for next few days. I was extremely concerned and I had to go to the Doctors to get the treatment that cost me a ton of money. And of course I couldn't go the party looking horrible! I was very very upset. I have no words how rude, unhygienic, and unprofessional this place is! DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME! These people have no regard for customers. I never write reviews because im a pretty laid back person and nothing tends to bother me too much, but I made an account specifically to warn people about this awful place. Besides the fact that you always have to wait at least 20 minutes regardless of if you made an appointment or not, DO NOT GO HERE. After waiting 30 minutes after my appointment time for a wax, I was brought into a dirty back room (very sketch). She did an awful job, and I can assure you nothing in that room was clean. I got an insanely bad infection and have a very painful abscess, that had to be medically cut into. I am on antibiotics and pain medication, and am very uncomfortable with a very deep incision that will not stop bleeding. Please go to a safer and more credible place, I would not wish this pain upon my worst enemy read more

I usually never come here but after looking at some reviews I decided to give it a try. I was completely disappointed! I made an apt three days ahead and showed up exactly on time. Despite all this I had to wait 45 mins!! before they even attended to my services! Completely unprofessional and rude. Everyone has a busy schedule and things they need to attend to. I had other appt booked after this appt. It's not okay to tell someone to come in at a certain time and then make them wait 45mins before attending to their needs. Either call and cancel the appt or hire more people or don't confirm an apt in the first place. It is not okay and completely unprofessional. Never ever again will I be returning to this place. I've been going to her boutique & salon for a few years and my one big gripe is about how unprofessional she & her staff are. They all talk loudly in their native language & shout across at each other! They eat food right in front of you & Smita talks on the phone while she's threading the brows, or talks to the staff. It's really annoying & I want to tell her to get her act together but don't want to embarrass her in front of other customers. She used to be cheap once but ever since she expanded her salon, she's raised her prices quite a bit. They also add a mandatory 15% tip to your bill. I feel I should be the one to decide who I want to tip & how much. She also has messed up my eyebrows a few times. Made them too thin or taken out too much hair from the front. I wish she was consistent. Unfortunately all other similar salons are far from my place so I have no choice but to go here. I might give the place at the mall a shot. read more

Booked for 2 facials and did asked them the price and the duration. I and My friend wanted facial together and the lady on the phone agreed. Got there the next day. She took my friend first. Again, I did mention again of me not getting facial if there was only one person doing it. Time was the issue. She had us in two separate room next to each other and was trynna squeeze 2 facials of 45minutes at the sametime. We wanted our own time and didnt want to be rushed for any reason. Moreover, it was my friend's first time getting an Indian Facial so I wanted her to have a good time. I came out of the room after waiting about 15 minutes to what was going on. I see lady at the desk and told her what was our situation. She tried her best to convince me. I wasnt going to anyway. The woman doing the facial on my friend comes out of the room and tried to convince me too. Then they started talking crap about how cheap I must be and all the blah blahs in Hindi. I didnt say a word till they just kept going. I told them I speak Hindi and can understand every freaking word they just uttered. Word!!! Their faces!!! I gave only 1 star because there was no option to rate 0 stars or I probably even would've considered giving negative stars to this place ! For starters, my eyebrows are very dark and thick....until I went to this most unfriendly salon and actually came out with almost "NO EYEBROWS" left on my face...Honestly, I couldn't believe such thick eyebrows as mine could also be threaded off to an extent of nothing left !! I am using Eye brow pencil right now to actually show off some brow on my face...If given a chance, I would thread Smita's eyebrows and thread off all her eyebrows just to make her realize how her carelessness made such a bad experience for some one...I went to this place a few times and have never had satisfaction....but now, after seeing myself with nothing but one line of brow, I'm NEVER GOING BACK!!!....and I would ABSOLUTELY NOT Recommend this place to anyone unless they want to get rid of their eyebrows totally !!!! I was at Smita's yesterday and I'm very much disappointed. I went for Eyebrow & Upper Lip threading. As soon as I entered the store there was a lady on the corner and I said I'm here for Eyebrow threading. And, she said Okay and sitting there without any movement. Then, I asked again then she got up and came to do threading. She was in a hurry and did it very fast. After done, I came up to the cash register to pay and I was in real pain and massaging my upper lip and eyebrow with lotion. So the owner lady was looking at me, and she asked me if I have a card, I said no and didn't know what she was asking. Then, she gave me one and I knew. I said first time I am here to your store and the owner lady thought I did threading for the first time.. ahhahah what a funny lady. She didn't know here staffs did a horrible job. Now, I am looking at my eyebrow and upper lip. there are lots of hair left and staff didn't do properly. Damm..what a 13 dollars waste of money!!! read more
