Smitty's is my new go-to wing spot in Stockton!! I've been wanting to try them for quite some time ever since I saw they were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and the fact that they are a local black owned business so I definitely wanted to support. The place was packed with a huge party and they had all of the TV's on showing the games, the ambiance was great and what you would expect from a pizza/wing place. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door and the owner was very nice and answered all of my questions eagerly. I had so many questions about the flavors and spice levels. They have about 12 sauce/rub flavors and they all sound so yummy so it was hard trying to figure out what to choose. I decided to try the ranch wings and the garlic chile wings while my dad tried plain, garlic chile and teriyaki as well as the garlic parmesan fries. I like that the kitchen is open and you can see the food being prepared right in front of you. You can see the pizza being made and the fresh dough being prepared. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time considering how packed it was. The wings were a nice size, pretty big and were fried to perfection. I actually had mine fried hard (well done) as I like them super crispy and that they were. I really loved the garlic chile wings, they had a nice garlic flavor to them and a little heat but not overwhelming. The sauce was thick and tangy, very flavorful. The ranch wings were pretty good as well, I believe it's just plain wings with homemade ranch drizzle on them. They were good and the flavor of the ranch was very good and unique. The only item that I wasn't too fond of were the garlic parmesan fries, while they were crispy and cooked to perfection that garlic parmesan flavor was lacking. It seemed to be only parmesan as I didn't taste the garlic and it tasted a little on the sweet side which threw me off. Probably would just get the regular fries next time. Overall, the customer service was great and the food was great. The prices were a little on the high side but I would say it was worth it. I will definitely be back for those yummy wings and to try their pizza as well. read more

I wanted to wait to try this place in person until I write my review but at the point if I don't write it I will forget. I ordered this place online. I wanted to speak to a real person to place my order since it was my first time and I had a few questions but when I called, the woman who answered very rudely told me she does not take to go orders over the phone, I tried to order half and half online but it didn't give me an option so I asked her how can I order half and half and she told me how but she was extremely rude so I contemplated even ordering from this place but my husband advised me that it is black owned so I wanted to support. We order a cheese and pepperoni pizza half and half and wings. The order came still hot and the pizza was okay, not bad but nothing to brag about. The wings however, we're very good! I mean delicious and I hardly ever have high expectations for wings at a pizza joint but they were bomb! Walking in Smitty's you're always graded in a very nice way. Either Steve or is amazing wife is always saying welcome in and sitting you very quickly. I looked at the menu and knew what I was going to have wings, wings and more wings! Now to decide what flavors of wings I think I'm gonna go with the hot honey, the buffalo, and maybe the sweet Thai! Yep that's what I had. It was all super good! It's a very beautiful establishment. The last time I was there I went to their Yosemite establishment. They're very friendly. The family definitely run the entire establishment Steve's in the back doing a lot of cooking and his wonderful wife is doing all the other good stuff I hear now that the kids are all involved but they weren't working this day! And boy was she on top of it she had four or five tables going at one time, and she was refilling the drinks and making sure everything was good to go I can't wait to get back to Smitty's and try lots of other flavors of their wings. I might even try the boneless wings of which I'm not a real big fan of but I think there's are gonna be very good cause I heard somebody talking at another table about how tasty they were. I was very disappointed with this place. Atmosphere: clean but that was because they didn't have any customers. Service: terrible! The server just didn't care. We asked for food and drinks that just never showed up. Food: we ordered pizza, wings and a wedge salad. The pizza was horrible, it's like they served up a cheap microwave pizza. Artificial cheese, dry flavorless crust and the sauce tasted like it came from a can. The wings were just drenched is sauce so I couldn't even tell you. The wedge tasted old and the chicken was just strange. Drinks: way overpriced but at least the beers were cold. I had high hope for this place and have wanted to try it for a while. Smitty's wings are pretty good! When I walked in it took me forever to decide on two wing sauces for six wings, smh. I asked every question possible about the flavors. Thankfully the woman at the counter was bubbly. She helped me decide which sauce for my liking, even let me taste some of the sauces. She also told me how she makes all the flavors. I decided on the garlic chile and thai flavors. Wings were made to order, nice & crisp. Flavors were good too. The garlic chile has a kick to it and Thai is sweet. I was told this is a popular combo. I didn't visit the bathroom so I can't tell you the conditions. Water wasn't offered as a side to my mimosa. It was a small bottle of Lamarca and strawberry concentrate. Very tasty but not strong. Wedge salad was really good. Lettuce was fresh and crispy. Presentation was very basic. Salt, pepper and bacon with 4 cherry tomatoes. Good starter that comes out quickly. Wings and fries came out at 1250. Pizza came out at 1152. Wings are okay. Nothing special. I was told the ranch was homemade but didn't seem like it. Pizza was good but it gets cold fast. The crust is really dry. You don't want to eat it unfortunately. No football, so this place is desolate on a Sunday. I see a few beers on tap but nothing was offered or mentioned. Smitty's has been a Stockton go-to for the last decade but I only recently visited their location on Pershing Av. The new building is an upgrade as it has more space has the decor of a classy sports bar, and lots of TVs, giving it a nice vibe. The bar provides lots of drink options but the food menu is basically wings and pizza. If you need more options find a Cheesecake Factory somewhere. If you're debating between pizza and wings I'd definitely go with the wings. Something that stands out about Smitty's compared to WingStop is both the traditional and boneless wings are a decent size. The combo meals don't offer a ton of wings but you'll be surprised how full you are. I got the Hot sauce based on other reviews and honestly it was just ok. I didn't get a lot of the buttery flavor that other people have mentioned. The spice level was present but not overpowering which was nice. I'll probably try different options in the future though. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza with my wings and it wasn't much to write home about. The size of the slice was decent for the price but it didn't have a lot of flavor. If you're looking for flavor on top of your wings you need to get the fries. They're beer-battered and delicious straight out of the fryer. A basket of fries can feed a whole group but would be too large for one person ($9 better feed a whole group though). The fries are great plain but also have some options. As places start to open up again and you're looking to watch a game while feasting on wings and drinks then check out Smitty's. If you only care about pizza then go elsewhere. read more

I just started coming to see for myself and after all the good things they tell me about everything we will all keep coming back for the wings and pizza. The wing flavors are on point from extra hot to bbq. I get the wing combo. It comes with fries and a drink and you get a ton of fries, which are on point. The pizza is also really good. I get the combo. The crust is soft pan style and taste great. They also go hard on the toppings which is a must if you wanna be 5 star. Many of us were vegetarian and a bit concerned, but their menu has a great veggie pizza and they now have Beyond boneless wings with all their sauces. They were excellent. I feel like I'm currently in a love/hate relationship with Smittys... yes, the pizza and wing are amazing but after the move to new location you cannot get a hold of them on phone to order ahead. I know there is a lot of hype with then new location and I understand that. It seems like they have all this room now but only one oven to attempt to keep up with the larger demand. They were so busy one a Friday night that they started turning people away 1 hour before they close. Let me tell you about those wings though.... They are crispy and each sauce has so much flavor. The cashier / owner of this place is so terribly rude. My family came in for a big celebration dinner. All of us were in a joyful mood. As soon as we walked in we were met with eye rolls. Instantly felt unwelocmed. Not a big deal but as we tried to figure out what to order she wanted no parts in helping us. She gave us very blank answers to our questions. When we asked if there was any specials they had she told us to read the menu. My dad had asked how was there day going etc no answer. Just a rude stare. It was more of a why are you speaking to me look. We went here to support a local business but we should've just headed down to Mountain Mikes. Where the customer service is a lot friendlier. I live near by and this unfortunately hasn't been the first time. I'm not sure why I decided to give them a second chance but We ended up staying and eating. Food was ok. Love coming here, just a quiet sports bar. It feels like if chilis was family owned. The wings are always good, never draw and always well flavored. The salads are fresh and the pizza was good. A crisp crust, well flavored sauces, and paired with a homemade ranch. Staff has always been more than accommodating and super sweet about approaching you when you're covered in sauce. Never had a bad experience if I were to really think of something I'd say to stay away from the window booths because they get pretty toasty. I like spice so my threshold is a little higher than others. I was in town for a meeting and had seen this place on Triple D. I had to wipe the drool off my face watching their episode, but that was nothing compared to eating their wings. I'm going back any time I'm in Stockton! 100 percent legit!
