I was recommended to come here. Worst experience and decision. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! They will take your money. Came in and the guy gave me the run around. Most likely because I'm a female. Didn't look under my car and said need to remove my catalytic converter cover. Interesting since I was sitting in my car so how did he see underneath my car. Charged me $51.00 and said didn't pass you need to remove that part. Super rude and unprofessional. I've been to places and paid for a real service. Not like some lazy and greedy company trying to take advantage by not their job. I ended up going to IN and OUT smog check ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND) they lifted my car and said there was no reason the other smog shop didn't pass you. Did they lift your car and I said no ...they said yeah you can clearly see that your car would pass the smog check. Don't go here especially if you're a woman!!! read more

Dude was awesome. Gave me a pleasant greeting and told me where to wait, with an accurate time of wait (less than ten minutes.) He gave me a very fair price and told me tips on how to always prepare for a smog check. First time ever getting a check, and new to California. Dude was super helpful and told me step by step what he was doing, and why he was doing it. If you're ever going to get a smog check for the first time this is the dude to go to. Today I had an experience unlike any other in my life. My head is still spinning - what on earth just happened. I took my car for a smog check at Smog Stops Here. I was met by Fred without a greeting. He showed me a price on his phone and when I repeated the price I saw, just so I got it right, he called me suspicious and said "I don't want your business". With no malice I asked him "why are you so angry?" That was a mistake, I realized right away and I regret asking it. He just got more hostile, angry and condescending. I read another review with a similar experience - the response was so revealing. No apologies or attempts to understand what could have gone wrong. Maybe he had a very bad day, since I definitely didn't experience what the five star reviews here describe. But one expects a customer service person, in particular the owner, to be able to separate personal issues from professional behavior. I am just an average homeowner in the area with deep roots in my neighborhood. I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel I have a greater responsibility to my neighbors to let them know about this strange apple amongst us. read more

This place is horrible. Firestone did repairs on my car. They fixed all the censors on the car and I was told all censors have activated except the oxygen one. They told me I need to drive my car far, so it can activate and then take it again to get a smog check, so it can pass. I was trying to explain that to the employee there. All I said was, "Firestone told me" when he started yelling at me. Didn't let me finish one sentence. Started telling me, "You're saying I'm lying! You believe whatever Firestone told you." He scream at me for 3 to 4 minutes straight, not letting me get a full phrase out. I told him he was being rude and he kept screaming and arguing, at this point alone. I decide to leave and just walk away from him. It is ridiculous that someone would behave live this in a place or business. read more

I had a fantastic experience here. I realized when I went to pay my registration renewal fee (very close to the deadline) that I also needed a smog check. This location was one of the only places nearby open on Sunday -- even better, there was no wait! The technician was very helpful and nice. $70 For a smog check??! I mistakenly waited too late in the day to go to my usual place so I went here because it was open an extra half hour.... At least he was quick about it, as I was sitting outside shivering and getting eaten by mosquitoes. But he didn't discuss price with me at all. Granted, I guess I should've asked. Ugh, I looked at the receipt on my way home and was like WTF???! I even called to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Save yourself 30 bucks and go to my usual place, Joe's Smog Check, he gets it done in 5 mins for $40 out-the-door, he's nice, and you can sit in the comfort of your car while he works. read more

This place is outstanding! My Prius' 12-volt battery had died and had to be recharged due to lack of use (thanks, Covid!), when I took it in to be smogged it failed. He explained to me in detail that there were several sensors involved in the emissions system, and the car hadn't been driven enough since the battery recharge for two of them to reset. Advised me to drive the car around, both street and highway driving, then bring it back for a free retest. I did; he ran a check before the second smog test, one of the sensors still wasn't reset. I drove around some more (at this point it had been weeks since the first test), brought it back, and it passed. He really went above and beyond and saved me $$ by testing the sensors before running the retest. He took the time to explain what the issue was and how to solve it. He never rushed me to get the retest. This happened back in the spring and I actually feel guilty for not writing a glowing review sooner. That's how excellent the customer service is at this shop. Any time I need a smog check, I'm bringing my car here. read more

He prices are very competitive, even if you use a Groupon elsewhere and there's no hidden fees if your car is oLder than 2000, nor extra charges for the certificate and the ETF. Alfred was a pro, was kind and even put up with my happy Pomeranian. I so appreciate this place. I first tried another place based on a coupon I received in the mail. Apparently, this anonymous place did not pay their fees to the DMV and the DMV shut them down so I waited for weeks with my renewal notice in my car. I came across Smog Stops Here and I am so thankful. Perhaps, Alfred is a bit more expensive than some others but it is so worth it.
