We had to check out this place and of course we were blown away by the delicious food and vibes of Smoke & Glory. I had the Brisket Flatbread which I fell in love with. My friend had the chicken one and my other friend bad the Pork BBQ and he said "This is the BBQ I have ever had." Of course the service was amazing and Patty was awesome! I highly recommend this place whenever you are in Chula Vista, CA.
Absolutely loved this place and very happy with both the food and service. We came in on 4th of July, so it wasn't busy at all. We sat at the bar, so we placed our order with the bartender who was extremely kind and friendly. Unfortunately, the food did take about 20 minutes to come out and when it finally did, there was a misunderstanding with our order and one incorrect item was brought out. The bartender handled it amazingly and offered us another round of drinks on her for the mistake. We were very impressed and grateful for the way it was handled and the correct item was brought out pretty quickly after that. The brisket burrito was so flavorful and absolutely stuffed! The pork ribs were some of the best I've had and just fell off the bone. We were so full, but the food was just so amazing that we couldn't stop eating! My only complaint about the food would be the mac n cheese. It tasted just like Kraft box mac so that was disappointing. With how delicious the rest of the food was, I definitely feel like they could change it and elevate it a bit. Overall, I'm looking forward to coming here again when we're in town and trying some different items on the menu. The setting seems like a great, casual place for watch parties where you can enjoy great food while watching some of your favorite teams.
First time dining at smoke & glory and I came in before the dinner rush. Got seated right away with my choice of table or bar. My server was Patty who did an excellent job making sure my drink was always full and very attentive, 5/5 service! Food was okay, I didn't care too much for the pork ribs and mac and cheese but the kielbasa, sweet potato fries were good. Wouldn't get that combo again and would try a different meat, food 3/5. Ambience is pretty chill, multiple TVs that had World Cup and baseball game. Both indoor and outdoor seating, I'd come back again to try something else on the menu!
I am on summer break and when one of my long time friends, who I met at my first school teaching, said let's meet up for lunch, I said let's go to 3rd Ave. We kinda wandered around and since she lives in the area, she mentioned that a new BBQ place opened next to Farmer's Table. So we walked over to look. No one approached us at the hostess stand, so we wandered over to the BBQ side. The workers all said hello and we could sit anywhere we wanted. You don't have to twist my arm! Johanna brought us some water and said to take our time since we told her it was our first time here. There's some good choices on the menu, but like Emmet mentioned, I too expected to see brisket and tri-tip as entrees. But we decided to ordered a few things in order to try them out. The nachos with chicken were great! I love me some Velveeta! The way it melts and its creaminess...so good! We then had the Garden Salad, which was new on the menu. So new, Johanna didn't know about it either...LOL! Love the presentation and the strawberries and pomegrante seeds really pull the rest together. Also very healthy, which we loved. We also had the brisket flatbread. This was soooooo good! The flavors worked well together. Though Tami asked for no cilantro, it was still good! I did wonder about with it, so maybe next time! I also had to have the creamy mac n cheese. So good and healthy...LOL! We also ordered the Mesquite & Stone cocktail...Bacardi coconut rum, peach schnapps, pineapple juice, honey syrup, lime juice, delicious and refreshing! Johanna was great! Checked in with us often, but knew we were catching up. I am looking forward to coming back! They have a variety of areas to eat at and their patio is dog friendly
Well overall, it was good. The beef rib was tender and meaty. The coleslaw had enough size on the cabbage to convince me that they actually made it. The mac and cheese was also good......but not amazing. It's like they put enough sauce to make it cheesy, but were afraid to make it too cheesy. The ribs were tender, but I found the flavor to be rather understated. There was so little seasoning that I asked for salt and pepper. The barbecue sauce on it was also kinda plain. For a place called Smoke and Glory, I found it to be not smoky at all and very "safe" in the presentation of its flavors. This is unusual because my most common complaint about ribs are that they had good umami, but were too tough. They seem to try to sell this kielbasa sausage to everyone. Aside from the large size, it was just okay. I wasn't the biggest fan of the texture. The toast that comes with it is also fine, but nothing spectacular. I might actually like this more as a bar than a BBQ joint. It's true that the Farmer's Table next door seems to get far better business while it's open and really sticks out. However, once you turn the corner at the wall, Smoke & Glory immediately feels like its own hideout and also has a unique vibe. I also liked the blueberry old fashioned I ordered. It was rather sweet for an old fashioned, but sometimes I like sweet drinks also, so I found it to be perfect for my mood at the time.
Came here for dinner on a Friday night with 3 other people and got seated right away. The exterior and interior had awesome metal art and had a good vibe. There's inside and outside seating available. It's right next to an Italian restaurant, Acqua E Farina, which we were told is owned the same people. Smoke & Glory opened up about 3 months ago and I think it's got a lot of potential and people just don't know about it yet, hence why it wasn't packed on a Friday night. Everything we had were tasty. The pork ribs was tender, juicy and fall off the bone. You can ask for their standard sauce or their habanero sauce to give it a little kick. The other food we ordered were fish tacos, mac & cheese, potato salad, beans and a burger. Everything was excellent and flavorful. Those beans were fireeee! You have to try them out. Our server, Frank, was attentive, friendly and really made our experience even more pleasant. There's a full bar and draft beers for extra bonus. TVs all around for those game nights. Our experience was so good that we've began spreading the word and will definitely be back again! Also, as far as parking, there's a parking structure for that shopping area so you should not have an issue.
OK, it's a baby here for at least two hours. There's so much food couldn't take all the pictures. Absolutely great service is super fast specially if how busy this place was she was crazy unfortunately they do not use separate bills so there was an issue with me on that, obviously y'all know, can you read my post a drink of the spot was absolutely awesome. Everybody was full of vibes Mexico City players game oh yeah.
Came to watch the World Cup game and it was an amazing time!! They have an outdoor seating area and indoor, both perfect for hosting game night. The service has been incredibly quick despite how busy ! Food is great, will be coming back.
First time at this new spot and I'm seriously impressed! A couple TVs outside and several more inside to catch all the sports, including the current FIFA games. The barbecue was legit - the pastrami sandwich had the perfect serving size. We also tried the pork ribs, Cali Burrito with brisket, and even a veggie burger with sweet potato waffle fries . If you're outside, flies can be a bit of a nuisance since it's an open-air venue, but there's also indoor seating with a full bar. Our server was prompt and never pushy, making us feel right at home. Came here for happy hour and really enjoyed this place. It is right next to farmers table and there is plenty of parking in the back. I tried the bbq rib plate with 6 bones, the half bbq chicken plate and the pulled pork sandwich which comes with fries. All were good, but i prefer the rib plate over the bbq chicken. The sandwich was good. The sides I enjoyed were the coleslaw and the Mac and cheese. The side of beans was decent as well. We also ordered corn bread which was not on the menu ($15), but it was just okay....more sweet than I would like. Service was good. The only downside was that the benches outside were extremely uncomfortable. I hope they upgrade to better seating. The other was that we had to ask for the happy hour menu instead of it being offered initially.
I enjoyed a very good BBQ lunch from this new BBQ House in Chula Vista. I ordered the Beef Ribs Nachos, the Smoked Pork Spare Ribs, and an order of Wings. For my ribs, I had the side of onion rings and the Pork Belly Wings. The smoked ribs were great. The meat was super tender and fell off the bones easily. It was well seasoned and offer a nice smoke flavor. The penetration of the smoke was very evident based on the pinkish color of the meat. Great smoke ring. The onion rings were abundant and crispy. They came with whole onions inside and were tasty. The pork belly beans were good, but I would have liked a little more pieces of pork belly in the beans. As for the wings, the server recommended the Tamarindo Chiltepin sauce, which was a great choice. The flavor of the sauce was great. It was a little sweet and had a very good flavor. The wings were tender and meaty. The nachos were good. They definitely do not hold back on the toppings. The tortilla chips are made in house and are of the thicker casero variety or homemade. They were well seasoned. Did I love the idea of Velveta cheese on my nachos? Probably not, but it worked here. The cheese was creamy and easily ladled onto the tortilla chips. The nachos are definitely meant for sharing, given their size. The beef meat was very tender and tasty. The service was friendly. I liked that they took the time to make suggestions and go over the menu in a casual manner. It was not rushed, so I had to relax before I ordered. They are located right next door to Farmer's Table and Acqua E Farina and are open for lunch and dinner. They have a great happy hour, too. There's inside and outside seating available with plenty of television around for sports viewing. If you like corn hole, they have that too!
Smoke & Glory is located in a Chula Vista suite adjacent to a popular brunch restaurant. You can park in the structure behind the building where there were plenty of open spots. There was a large outdoor space with picnic tables if you wanted to dine al fresco. The inside seating featured ten high chairs around a bar along with tables and booths. The ambiance resembled a cross between a barn and a lodge. Happy Hour was offered between 2 and 5 pm daily. A separate menu was dedicated for that time period with discounts on twelve food choices, draft beers, well drinks, and cocktails. The main menu was divided into appetizers and BBQ plates in the left column. Burgers, sandwiches, a hot dog, and a burrito were in the middle of the page. Salads, flatbread, sides, and family combos made up the right column. To my disappointment, there were only three BBQ Plate choices... Smoked Chicken, Smoked BBQ Pork Rib, and Smoked BBQ Dino Beef Rib. Nearly every barbeque joint I have visited offers brisket and pulled pork by the pound. This place made those meats available only as a sandwich. It shouldn't be difficult to modify the menu to sell those two items a la carte or as part of a plate. My selection was the Smoked BBQ Dino Beef Rib (1 bone) plate which came with two small sides. I picked the Mac and Cheese and Pork Belly Beans. A metal tray was delivered to my table with pickled onions, a dill pickle, and a couple of pieces of bread as sides. The bone was large with plenty of sauced meat. The tenderness was okay, but I have experienced better "fall off the bone." The mac and cheese was creamy. The beans were contained in a salty, watery gravy that resembled a soup. The service was hit and miss as I placed my order at the bar when no server came by my table. The staff did check up on me after delivering the food. For the quality and price of what I tried, I gave a rating between three and four stars for Smoke & Glory.
First time trying Smoke & Glory BBQ located on F Street in Chula Vista, CA. The restaurant opened its doors in February of 2026 and it's next to Farmer's Table. Both restaurants have the same owner. Smoke and Glory BBQ is Kansas City style BBQ & NOT Texas style BBQ very different flavor. I prefer Texas style but there's a following in San Diego for Kansas City style BBQ. We really enjoyed the following and would order again: -TJ Nachos with beef ribs. It had pico de gallo, guacamole, jalapeños, velveeta cheese and Oaxacan cream (5/5) stars. -Bread Pudding dessert (5/5) stars it was OUTSTANDING! It had ice cream and blueberry sauce. A must try!! -Smoke BBQ Pork Ribs (6) with cole slaw and pork belly beans in BBQ sauce. The sides were excellent!! I'm not a fan of Kansas City style BBQ especially, their sauce. I found my rib order a bit dry, but you may enjoy this plate. I rate the ribs (4/5) stars. There's indoor and outdoor seating with screens TV's to watch your favorite sports game. They have a lot of room for large groups. Happy hour is daily from 2pm-5pm, $6 draft beers, $10 House Cocktails. We had excellent customer service by our server Jose and manager Denise who took the time to come over to make sure we enjoyed our dinner. The service was a 5/5 stars and restaurant was very clean. The staff worked together as a team to clean our table and refill our drinks which we really appreciated. Get $10 off your next visit when you sign up on their website to stay up to date with their specials, events, promotions etc. Go on their website for additional details. I look forward to going back and trying their flatbreads and BBQ sandwiches next time. There's free parking available behind the restaurant. Give this restaurant a try! Happy Yelping :)

This was the worst back ribs I've ever had. We ordered 12 pieces of pork back ribs, sausages, and 2 pieces of beef back ribs for takeout. First of all, the beef ribs were extremely salty, and they barely put any barbecue sauce on them. The pork ribs were also dry and not good at all. Instead of traditional barbecue rib flavors, they seemed to use Mexican-style seasoning and spices. Again, there was barely any sauce on the ribs, and even my kids didn't want to eat them and left most of it unfinished. Another issue is the price of the beef ribs. They charge $33 for just one piece, and it's only a normal-sized rib. It would be one thing if it tasted amazing, but the food was terrible for that price, which made me really upset. I wanted to prepare a nice dinner for my wife and kids during our camping trip, but it ended up being a complete failure. There was also a problem with the takeout packaging. They packed the pickles, barbecue, and side dishes all together in one container. Since my wife and kids don't eat pickles, they had to eat potatoes and barbecue covered with pickle juice/flavor. The presentation looked awful as well. If you are considering this restaurant, I strongly recommend reading this review and thinking twice before going. read more

If service was able to be rated separate from food experience, 100% I would definitely rate 5/5 stars. Service and ambience was really great. Kids and adults got to play games while waiting which was pretty cool. Bar drinks were pretty good too, can't complain on those especially when they taste pretty strong! Ow time for the food... my trio tacos were amazing so I really can't complain there. However wings tasted boiled and tamarindo wings just had a weird taste. The Dino beef rib was a definite no go for us..my husband is one who smokes his meats so he knows when they're smoked and he said they definitely weren't. I really wanted to like this place. It was my first time trying it out. I'll give it another go to try a few other options, I want to be fair. There's a patio with a big screen that had a basketball game in. It was a perfect day to dine Al fresco. The patio, on a beautiful clear day, did not disappoint. Country music was playing at just the right volume to hear conversations and sing along if the right song came on. Service was okay. The servers were pleasant. I was welcomed and encouraged to sit anywhere. A server came out and asked if I'd like something to drink. I immediately placed my order for food and drink. She didn't introduce herself. A young man delivered my meal and that was the last of my service. Another papers on came out to take the order of another table. I requested a refill of my soda. My server delivered my soda and asked if I needed anything else. When I said no, she reviewed my bill, brought my to go containers, a bag and I left. No have a nice day, please come again...nothing. Food was decent. Fries were good, Mac was good, potato salad was mas o menos. I came in for the ribs though, I had the Dino rib, excessively fatty, sauce was ok. The owner was kind enough to give me another which was a bit better, still fatty but more meat. Meat was also a bit overseasoned almost salty. My wife did not even finish her baby back ribs either. The quality can use some fine tuning. Just being honest. I saw a video that hyped this place up but I didn't feel it to be that great. Drove here from Oceanside and it didn't feel worth it. At the end of the day we all have personal preferences and taste is subjective. Phil's BBQ is still the best IMO! I'm yet to find a better BBQ and I've been to plenty. Wanted to try this place with my boyfriend and it was amazing! This place is KANSAS STYLE BBQ (according to the manager) so you have been warned, they will convert you to prefer kansas style bbq! came in and sat ourselves and were helped right a way. Our server was attentive and the staff was so nice and friendly. I wish I took a picture of the food but everything was so delicious, we demolished! We ordered 5 piece habanero mango wings and 5 piece tamarindo chiltepin wings. They provided extra bbq sauce and extra mango hab sauce if you like your food extra saucy! My boyfriend and i love wings and these wings were made so good and were a good size. The wings def exceeded expectations! for our mains, we got the pork ribs with mac and cheese and pork belly beans and the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. The ribs were fall off the bone and were so succulent and savory... they did not need sauce. We also got recommended the caramel stuff churros with ice cream for dessert which was delicious!! i dont usually go for dessert but wow im glad i didnt skip it! In all with their open seating both out door and indoor with sports playing on the tvs, Smoke & Glory is a nice family friendly restaurant for a casual meal! By the way, they do have a bar and alcoholic beverages so would be a fun place to chill and watch the game with friends... We definitely will be back !!! read more

This is such a great new restaurant for Chula Vista! Amazing barbecue and great service! I also love the ambience of the restaurant... The booths are amazing, they have a really cool bar and a really nice outdoor seating area. We sat in a booth and Kayla was our server. Kayla was outstanding! Went to Smoke and Glory today with a large group. The staff were so gracious and accommodating! We were seated outside on the patio on picnic tabes that were surprisingly comfortable. The food came out in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. I ordered the meat lovers flatbread. The bread was soft and chewy with just the right amount of toppings. Others at our table ordered chicken nachos, chicken quesadilla (HUGE) and the pulled pork sandwich. All excellent. Jose was our server and he is a rockstar! He did a super job handling 20 people, pacing meals and managing multiple tables simultaneously. We will definitely be back to try some of their other menu items. read more

Great spot for a family dinner with a toddler and baby. They offer games and both indoor and outdoor seating, with heaters available outside. We've tried the wings, trio nachos, BBQ pork ribs, beef rib, Smoke & Glory flatbread, kids' pizza, mac and cheese, pork belly beans, and fries. Everything we've had so far has been really good. Came here for Valentines Day, and for the price, you get a lot of food. Chill ambiance, but the servers were not the friendliest or welcoming. Took awhile after being seated for a server to acknowledge us and get us menus. We noticed that quite a few of the servers would walk away from their tables staring up at the ceiling to avoid eye contact with anyone else and did feel like they were deliberately ignoring customers to the point where we made a game out of it. Hate seeing that in a place that's just opening up and trying to get started. Soda machines weren't working but they had bottled Mexican sodas (they were all flat). For appetizer we got the Smoked Pork Ribs Tips (a little dry, not juicy or saucy and celery did look a little old), Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs with Mac N' Cheese & Onion Rings (very very dry ribs, great Mac N Cheese, fall apart & crumb as you pick them up onions rings), and the Smoked BBQ Beef Ribs with Fries & Cole Slaw (very juicy & savory, HUGE portion of delicious beef ribs, good fries but Cole Slaw tasted old..). Cute little place tucked behind Farmer's Table in Chula Vista. The staff was very friendly and the ambiance is inviting. There's not too many bbq places to choose from in this area, but their food was not bad, not great. Bbq sauce was kind of bland as was the potato salad. My son's mac n cheese was way too thick and tasted like Velveeta. The meats alone were pretty good...tender and not dry...but for me, the bbq sauce is what makes or breaks a good bbq restaurant. My friend and I stopped by here for lunch yesterday as we were excited to try this new BBQ place in Chula Vista. So glad we did. We got the Trio Tacos as an appetizer to share. Which was a great way to try a variety of their meat options. My friend got the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with Sweet Potato Fries and I got the Brisket Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Everything was so good, meat was tender and excellent quality, smokey flavor, good portions, burger was juicy, fries were a nice balance of crispy and soft, wonderful balance of flavors throughout. I also asked if they had any alcohol free mocktails and Guillermo, the manager, made me a "Smokey Garden" (mocktail of a Mama Mia). Wow it was amazing! Fresh berries throughout, with just the right amount of ginger beer. My friend got the Glory Old Fashion which she really loved, nice smokey flavor. We chose to sit outside on their lovely patio. Protection from the sun and heat lamps if you need them. We got our food hot and in good time. Our server, Dany, was very attentive and kind. As was Guillermo.
