Upfront I did not have any food here. I stopped in for happy hour on Sunday which am glad they offered! The staff was super friendly and had a great community feel. Everyone was very welcoming and enjoyed having some drinks here. Also very generous wine pours :)

Very disappointing! Should've read the signs and reviews lol. First off, the lady was very rude and not welcoming at all upon entering the restaurant. We asked questions about the menu and she wasn't very helpful at all. We ordered a Brisket and Sausage Combo Plate I believe and it came out to over $30 for everything. My boyfriend and I shared the plate because we weren't too hungry but still, when the food came out, we were so disappointed. Not only were the portions super small but it just looked so dry and unappetizing. You definitely need to pair it with a lot of sauce to really enjoy it. We were never checked on either. Service was terrible. Wouldn't come back here.

My advice is to STAY AWAY. This food was so disgusting that it doesn't even deserve to be called food. The sausage tasted like a fast food hotdog, the Turkey tasted worse than an airplane meal, everything was bland and flavorless, and the BBQ sauce tasted like drain cleaner. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this has to be to worst food I've ever ordered in my entire life.

We stumbled on to this place the other day. What a gem! We had about sixty minutes before an important meeting and found just the place. There were only four other guys in the place and Jimmy was relaxed in serving us. It was about two past meridiem. The phone on the outside wall prolly doesn't get much use as the North Electric Bakelite Handset type was broken. The platter consisted of Cole Slaw, Baked Beans (both great!), Corn Bread, Pulled Pork and Brisket. A roll of Paper Towels served as Napkins. Dr. Pepper was there, he was on ice.

Smokehouse chili that I received on my UberEats order Friday evening. Barely 50% filled. Absolute scam.

Take a look below at the smokehouse chili I received Friday night. Barely 50% filled. I have never seen such blatant disregard for the intelligence of customers at any restaurant in the DC/MD area as SmokeBBQ in Bethesdsa. They think they can fool their customers with these tiny, half filled portions but it's such an obvious scam. They don't do this when you order through them or pick up yourself, only the UberEats orders which, if you feel like calling to complain, they will either deny or blame on the driver. They refuse to ever accept responsibility for their mistakes or minuscule portions. Shadiest restaurant in Bethesda.

I generally try to find something positive about a review even if it's overall negative. I can't really find one for this place. I ordered the two item combo with a side of mashed potatoes and cornbread. The two meats I chose was brisket and chicken. The meat was awful. I can almost guarantee the meat was heated in a microwave. The brisket was bland, dry and over cooked. The chicken was also dry and chewy and lacked flavor. The coleslaw looked aged and wilted. It lacked any flavor and overall inedible. The "cornbread" we paid extra for was just a dry white roll and didn't come with any butter. The mashed potatoes and scalloped potatoes (ordered by a friend) were also cooked by microwave - evident by the way the cheese was melted on top in plastic containers. The mashed potatoes were very buttery and tasted almost like instant potatoes. My friend ordered a sandwich that looked squashed and was prepared carelessly. He also stated it lacked any flavor. His French fries were also chewy and extremely greasy. Absolutely one of the worst BBQ restaurants I have been to. I would have been better off heating a frozen BBQ dinner as it would have been tastier and more fresh then what was served here. Absolute pass for all those who know what BBQ truly is.

Chill spot with good bbq. What else could you ask for. Just beware that it is very small inside with a few tables and a bar area.

Every other sports bar we checked was completely booked, so we were excited to find a table here. The atmosphere was fantastic! The place was packed, but it never felt disorganized. From what I could tell, they have multiple levels, including a rooftop, and there was a great energy throughout the restaurant. One of the highlights was an older gentleman (I'm guessing the owner or manager) who really helped create a fun environment. He walked around with a megaphone, interacting with guests, giving away small prizes like hats, bottle openers, koozies, and other giveaways. He even took a moment to thank everyone for coming and reminded guests to take care of the servers, which I thought was a nice touch. Speaking of the servers--they were amazing. Even with a full house, service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Food came out surprisingly quickly, drinks stayed flowing, and our server never made us feel forgotten despite how busy it was. I ordered the chicken tacos, which were good I, and everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. My daughter absolutely loved her apple pie à la mode and cleaned the plate! My only complaint is that, for a sports bar, the TVs could definitely use an upgrade. Some of the screens were fairly small, a few weren't very clear, and one even had visible lines running through the picture. Since people are coming specifically to watch games, better screens would really elevate the experience. Parking ended up being easy since it was a Sunday. The nearby garage was free, and I was lucky enough to find street parking directly across from the restaurant. Overall, this was a fun place to catch a big game. Great atmosphere, excellent service, good food, and I'd absolutely come back for another sporting event.

We sat at the bar and had great service and conversation with Brandon, the bartender. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with waffle fries, and the person with me had the Reuben with tater tots. The Reuben was perfectly proportioned to the bread, and we were both very happy with our meals. The crab cake was the standout for me, not overcooked, not dry, and seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend it! One thing I learned quickly in Maryland is that Old Bay seasoning goes on just about everything. I do like Old Bay, but for me it's best when cooked into seafood rather than added afterward, as it can be a little salty. Overall, a great casual spot with friendly service, good food, and a lively atmosphere.

My company and I have different likes so we disagreed on favorites but the good news is someone loved everything! We tried the short rib and salmon sliders. Short rib has sweet flavor. I would order both again. The friend pickles were what you'd think they would be but I was wanting a stronger pickle flavor. The crab beignets were a hit for both of us. The broiled potatoes had too much of a garlic flavor for me. Tasted good but honestly would've been better if they came as advertised, broiled potatoes. No garlic oil which clashed with the side of ketchup. Just crispy salted potatoes would've complimented the meal better. Everything was happy hour prices which I loved because it allowed me to try lots of things. It's worth the early seating and I'll definitely be back. Again, kudos to the awesome staff!

I ordered the Fonz Italian Sausage layered with pastrami (seemed like lunch meat) and melted cheese on top. I think it was provolone. Served on a toasted bun. Filling and satisfying, good flavor. The hot fries was a regular order of fries served with an imbalanced sprinkle sort of dumped on the top layer of fries and not distributed all the way through, which had an extra cost of $2 for the sprinkle of spices, which was an annoying difference in price in my opinion. Solid options for beer and a few ciders. Full bar as well. TVs on the walls only showing sports. You get a table number, order at the counter, pay, and they bring it out to the table number. Casual spot. My immediate thoughts...this place is overpriced. My sausage dog, fries and cider came to $26, plus tax, so about $31 bucks. I repeat, $31 bucks. I honestly felt as though the place was price gauaging. A few other people at my table mentioned the prices and thought they were overpriced. Not much service received, just them bringing the order out. Food was yummy, but I'm not convinced about the value. I have had sausage dogs, hot dogs, fries and beer around the world and I feel this place was overpriced. I like the atmosphere because its a perfect place for casual dining and decent for groups.
