CHEF TRINI's "MOTHER IN LAW" The flavor was not good and everything was turning brown.

The chopped pork sandwich was delicious. I got the OMA'S CHEESY TENNESSEE POTATOES as a side because the collards were out. They were okay. Both of their slaws were not good and not fresh. They were both turning brown and looked like it was made few days ago. Very disappointing because a good slaw is a MUST when I eat bbq pork sandwiches.

Wagshal's and Pitmasters Back Alley BBQ along MacArthur Blvd in the historic Bonfield's, a long ago garage, gas station (I remember when), and a former market... Excellent egg breakfast sandwich, now ordered twice at the back deli counter, yum. You select deli bread, bagel, or croissant. Eggs are substantial thickness, yet very light and tasty in preparation. Choice of cheese and protein was on my agenda! Delicious. Peeled a grapefruit on the patio the last time I ate this yummy egg treat. Downside, you gotta wait until the Bodega opens at 10:00 am, sorry to all those driving by the cafe on their way to work. Sweet patio hangout. Looks like tasty beer on tap. Coffees, cold drinks, cafe and ready made foods, deli items, Wagshalls $$ Haven't tried the BBQ yet, and the smells were most excellent late morning! 'Burnt Ends' noted on 'happy hour' menu, 4-6 pm. Mentioned to the patio staff that I'd order burnt ends right on top of a baked potato tomorrow, ha! Small bike rack and picnic tables out front perfect for cyclists pit stop and/or pick me up. Sorry, didn't scout a bathroom. Caution needed watching for pedestrians and automobiles while backing up onto MacArthur Blvd. Maybe safer to pull in and park in the setback driveway parking area? Plan to try something new and hang again soon!

Wow, what a dump. Can't believe how dirty it was for a new business. Over priced meat, wine and food as well. Was hoping for better.

Jewish BBQ joint. I'm not sure what you Yelpers were…read morethinking when y'all referred me to this place with your good reviews, but you all missed. Took my brutha here to celebrate his birthday and it's basically an upscale carryout. A couple sets of (8) chairs outside and a few benches inside - all occupied. Plus, it's too chilly to be eating outside...so we took the food to his place up the street. No worries - food will be good, right?? First the good: That hearty smokiness of summertime barbecue wafted from the front door as I walked up, had me totally turned on. Service was excellent from the guy waiting on us. Now, the rest.... + The (full slab) beef ribs were dry, oversalted and tough. + The pound of lamb shank I ordered didn't taste like lamb. I actually thought they had forgotten to give me my order. Their smoking process shouldn't overwhelm the natural earthiness I was expecting - from lamb. + The fried chicken was moist and juicy with a nice crunch. Decently seasoned too. + The garlic potatoes tasted old. + Assorted sauces we good...enough. + Rolls are tasteless. I could've taken my brother to a thousand other places and spent far less than $89, and we were both disappointed with this one. The bag was heavy too so we were falsely encouraged initially. There's parking right next door but we parked in the gas station across the street and walked over. I won't be returning.

I had some mild expectations when arriving at Barrel & Crow which were quickly met and exceeded. Our party of four enjoyed a truly delightful and delicious meal. From the moment we sat down, our server--Dan--delivered five-star service. He was genuinely friendly, attentive without hovering. His knowledge of the menu and thorough description of the dishes was also notable. Some were his favorites, so he really described them (all) with mucho gusto. It was like we were guests in his home. We basically ended up ordering literally everything he recommended and he was absolutely spot-on. We started with the fried green tomatoes and calamari. Our smorgasbord of entrées included the lamb bolognese (my favorite, though sadly not the one I ordered), a beautifully tender lamb shank, spiced shrimp and grits, and a deeply flavorful andouille and seafood gumbo. Each dish was thoughtful and well prepared, though the shrimp and grits were a bit savorier than I'm accustomed to. Dessert didn't disappoint either. We savored the chocolate torte and also their signature sweet beignets. They were the perfect ending to an already stellar meal.We left behind so many other tempting menu items and looking forward to our next visit.

The service was so so considering the size of the restaurant. There seemed to be plenty of servers but we had to flag them down to order, get coffee refills and get the check. We liked the food. They had an interesting shukshuka that 2 people got and finished every bit. They also got a side of potato "hash" but they were really just diced roasted potatoes. Not worth the $6 price but worked for soaking up the shukshuka gravy. We had one beet salad that was very nice. We ordered the beignets at the end and they were just fair. We would still go back to try other things!

I ordered the Fonz Italian Sausage layered with pastrami (seemed like lunch meat) and melted cheese on top. I think it was provolone. Served on a toasted bun. Filling and satisfying, good flavor. The hot fries was a regular order of fries served with an imbalanced sprinkle sort of dumped on the top layer of fries and not distributed all the way through, which had an extra cost of $2 for the sprinkle of spices, which was an annoying difference in price in my opinion. Solid options for beer and a few ciders. Full bar as well. TVs on the walls only showing sports. You get a table number, order at the counter, pay, and they bring it out to the table number. Casual spot. My immediate thoughts...this place is overpriced. My sausage dog, fries and cider came to $26, plus tax, so about $31 bucks. I repeat, $31 bucks. I honestly felt as though the place was price gauaging. A few other people at my table mentioned the prices and thought they were overpriced. Not much service received, just them bringing the order out. Food was yummy, but I'm not convinced about the value. I have had sausage dogs, hot dogs, fries and beer around the world and I feel this place was overpriced. I like the atmosphere because its a perfect place for casual dining and decent for groups.
