We recently visited Smoke Daddy in Wrigleyville. The music was "honky tonk" and very loud, I asked our waitress if she could lower the volume a little and she did. I would have thought they would have "Blues" instead of Country considering it's a "rib joint". We were seated right away and then I assume the manager put a regular menu, a specials menu, and a drink menu. He tapped on the special menu and said "I would go with the specials menu". I looked at the specials menu but they were also listed on the regular menu at the same price. I didn't understand that. I wanted to order the 1/2 slab baby back ribs choice of two types of meat and two sides, our waitress said "let me check with my manager", and she came right back and said "sorry but we don't have ribs today". It had something to do with a large order I'm not quite sure, at any rate, I decided on the burnt ends and brisket combo, with mac & cheese and cornbread. I thought the food was very good and our waitress was always around with refills. I would go back again or might try the other location in Wicker Park for comparison. read more

There's so much to love about this place. First of all, it's directly across the street from Wrigley Stadium so it's perfect for Wrigleyville activities and a short walk from the subway station. Second, the food is AMAZING. Absolutely love the Brisket sandwich. It's so delicious. They have four signature BBQ sauces to choose from and each is great. Recommend grabbing a bottle to take home too. They have tons of drinks options, a clean bathroom and the ambiance is always fun and lively. Smoke Daddy is a great BBQ restaurant across the street from Wrigley Field. My family and I went there before going to a Chicago Cubs game. We made reservations, which I recommend because it will fill up before a Chicago Cubs game. We were seated on the second floor. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area. We were waited on promptly, and the server kept coming back to check on us throughout the night. My husband and I tried all of their smoked meats. The burnt ends were by far the best. The cornbread side was surprisingly good. We ordered a chocolate chip cookie skillet for dessert. All of the food was delicious. The most surprising part of the meal was the price. For Chicago, and especially Wrigleyville, the prices were very reasonable, maybe even cheap. I recommend Smoke Daddy for excellent food, service, and prices. Our waitress, Emily, was excellent. She was perky, friendly and helpful. We had the jalapeño beer cheese as an appetizer. It wasn't what I expected (melted queso) but still tasty. Food- We came to this restaurant with great expectations as we were recommend this spot form a tour guide in wrigleys. I ordered nachos that were very dry and basic. The nachos came with a bit of cheese bbq sauce and a few chili beans. I left majority of the nachos on the try. My friends ordered ribs that they enjoyed. The ribs came with a dry rub and bbq sauces on the side. We also ordered the smoke chicken that was really juicy. Service- The service was horrible. Once we arrived we waited to be greeted because the hosts were talking in the corner. The place was not busy at all. As we ate the waitress didn't ask for us for refills we had to walk up and ask for refills. Over all I would not return. The food was mediocre. read more

Greetings my Foodzies, let's travel to Wrigley Field, directly across from there is Smoke Daddy restaurant. Nice sports bar atmosphere with numerous TVs, open front windows and a vibrant feel. Just before the game we enjoyed some BBQ. Our server was Ivan he was friendly, knowledgeable, personal and attentive. We tried the loaded fries with crispy fries Mac daddy cheese sauce, pulled pork, chipotle ranch, green chile jam and scallions. Very flavorful, each bite was different depending on what ended up on your fork. We had the cheeseburger which was a double smash burger with cheese. Great crisp on the burger and juicy. The BBG burger which also had a double smash burgers, pulled pork, cheddar, crispy onions with a bbq drizzle. A very delightful bite the mixture of the burger and the pulled pork was very tasty. The Mac-Daddy with added pulled pork was another treat creamy cheesy with the savory pulled pork and the crust from the baked cheese and topped with BBQ sauce. Delicious. Lastly I had the Smoked Meat Platter with burnt ends and brisket along with Mac & cheese and coleslaw. The burnt ends had a nice crust, they were nice and juicy. I was thrilled with the brisket; it was sliced to thin and fatty. The coleslaw was dry. That was the only thing we didn't like. Their array of sauces were tasty as well. We had brunch there this weekend. First off, the "Lodge Theme" is really well done. It's a great vibe and the staff is very good. We took our kids (7 and 12) but admitted it would have been fun with a group of friends too. The family platter hits all the things the kids love for breakfast: pancakes, sausage, bacon and fruit. And monkey bread. (Take on cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting) Then you get your choice of entree which includes BBQ based sandwiches and skillets or eggs your way. (Unlimited on all fronts) The bottomless drink option is $27. (We take full advantage being with waking distance.) Overall, we enjoy it. Had the chili as well and it was some of the best chili I've had. They used sausage link slices rather than ground meat and it had great flavor. Great to eat with chips. Side salad was nothing special and a tomato had a wet blue piece of paper or sticker on it and made it unappealing but still edible. Service was decent, not very attentive to our table. I don't really write reviews but what the fuck? $74. 70 freaking 4 dollars to get the food I wanted after a long ass night at the ER with my cat. Open my food containers for every single item to be cold. All of the chicken, brisket, and cornbread I ordered was drier than Somalia after its 10th year in a drought. The sausage was the worst tasting piece of meat I've ever had. Shaq's sweaty jockstrap would've tasted better. Tried giving some to my fat ass dog and even she turned away. The coleslaw was lukewarm and tasted like spit on cabbage with watered down mayo. The icing on the cake was out of the 4 bbq sauces I ordered, each one was progressively worse and worse and I couldn't even tell the difference between them. The beans and Mac and cheese were ok but not enough for me to get the barrel of a gun out of my mouth. I'm not a crier but this was enough to illicit a single tear after an already shit couple of days. Came here for brunch on my endless mission to find the best bottomless brunch in the city. I think for the area, this place is pretty good. This place is actually a lot bigger than I was thinking. There's the downstairs with plenty of mixed seating as well as a bar. Upstairs is also pretty large & it actually seems like there's some pretty good lighting up there. The bottomless brunch deal is really good. For about $45 you get an entree, a choice of bottomless drinks, and then they bring various 'starter' items to your table. The food is also bottomless, so if you want more of something be sure to ask. The real standout food for us were the hashbrowns. I have no idea what they did to them but they were AMAZING. (and this was before we got drunk off of our bottomless mimosas, so that's really saying something). It seems like there's also live music during brunch, so that was an added bonus for us. I tried this place for the first time today since my regular BBQ place is closed today and tomorrow (Smoque BBQ) it's 4 of July weekend and I really wanted BBQ. This was super disappointing to say the least. I ordered the half rack ribs with 2 sides to go. The place was empty with no customers @5:00pm when I went to pick up my order. The baby back ribs were super overcooked and dried out. I mean they need to retrain the kitchen on how to cook and maintain temperatures when cooking a protein. Food is just way too expensive to overcook the main entree. You can't even use the excuse that they were busy. Just Chefs that don't give a crap about he food. Those ribs should've made it into the takeout box!!! My 1st. side was corn bread. It was ok as far as flavor. It had corn in it. Too much butter at the bottom left the corn bread wet. Ugh. My 2nd side was coleslaw, it was just ok. I could have made it better myself with buying all the ingredients from Trader Joe's. Also had a side order of burnt ends which was surprisingly moist. Great Brisket! We walked over after taking a tour at Wrigley Field to eat here as they were offering a 10% discount for tour attendees. Plus, we really like BBQ. The staff welcomed us right away and guided us to the correct area. Both of us got the sandwich with the brisket in it and made sure to sample the entire 'flight' of BBQ sauces they had on the table. It was hard to pick a favorite one as they were all good. The entire restaurant has a great view of Wrigley. I can only imagine how crowded this place can get during games - it wasn't while we were there, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try something else on the menu. read more

Was here last night after a night market right across the street! Unfortunately the brisket plate we ordered was beyond dry. It was more along the lines of day old brisket that was left out than anything fresh or tender. I wish I had taken a picture bc it was even visibly dry. We had the brisket nachos which were ok, the wedge salad was good and so was the cookie desert.
