I want to talk about the Ambiance first because that's what got my attention. I love how it's inviting. It's definitely a place to go if you're craving BBQ. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. There's also private area for events/parties. The back area reminds me of when my family throws a backyard BBQ. I love it. You can mix and mingle with all the people. The food was good. There wasn't anything specific in the menu with a wow factor but it was good enough. A very fun and entertaining place to be with family.

Absolutely amazing food with excellent service! We had the baked potatoes tonight with Brisket, and the portion size was huge! It could definitely feed 2 people. The peach cobbler and ice cream are complementary for dine-in and are so good!! Also the Apple dessert dish... 10/10! And the rolls... freshly baked, and they taste homemade. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Shout out to Christy who made our dinner out so special. We will definitely be a repeat customer from now on!

Highly recommend! Great food, great atmosphere, great time. The owner LD personally came up to the table making everyone feel like a special guest. We will definitely be back! See you next time LD and staff

Went here while I am visiting family in Texas! I'm from California so I definitely had to try BBQ and this place didn't disappoint! First of all the ambience was great! Lots of space and super chill and relaxing! The service was incredible. The bartender was so funny and sweet! My friend mentioned one day she has to try catfish cause she never has and he was shocked and went to grab a free piece for her to try! So nice! We ate so good and I highly recommend the food

All the food is really good!

This is one of those places that you definitely have to visit and live the experience. They have cajun buffet Fridays and Saturdays and every single item was really good. Their specialty of course is BBQ, we only tried the ribs and the sausage, both were delicious. Service, atmosphere, and prices are really good. Did I mention that they also have full bar and live music? Do your self a favor a go visit them.

My first visit ever to smoke monkey was to try out their buy-one-get-one free chicken fried steak on a stormy Thursday evening. we were a little worried walking in as there was no one else around Including staff. We thought they were closed and we were just about to walk out when someone came up out of the back to take our order. Now usually this kind of condition spells disaster for a good meal but I'm glad we waited as the meal was Top Notch, my chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly and delicious, their dinner rolls are divine, to say the least and the best part is included with the chicken fried steak dinner comes unlimited sides. now a normal person would probably try two or three but just short of the salad bar I tried every side they had including, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, potato salad, Texas-style chili, corn, and coleslaw. they even had ice cream although I did not partake in this delectable dessert. Needless to say, I left more than full and was super pleased with everything that I ate. one more Awesome thing I would like to mention about smoke monkey is that they actually have daily specials, too often these days restaurants claim to have specials but are just a clever way of marketing their regular menu items. but not smoke monkey, in my opinion, their specials are specials and dang good ones too. If you've never been I recommend two things, one go hungry and two They're setup is a little different and if you've never been you're not going to know how everything works, for Example we weren't sure what was included with the unlimited sides So I recommend just asking at the front counter while you're ordering your meal To set your mind at ease *Poor *Decent *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Food. Best Service. Great Cleanliness. Good Consistency. Great Variety. Great Value. Great

Is this a sign??? No. It's no. Currently, they have beer and wine available. We ordered a beer and it was ice cold. For apps, we had half orders of the meteor bites and pickles. Both fantastic. Served with a yummy ranch and Chipotle ranch. Out fast and hot. Our server Cora was so pleasant and had such a strong desire to please. For dinner we both got the 205 plate. Two meats and two sides. For just over $20. It was a steal compared to most bbq joints. He got brisket and ribs. Both fantastic and I am not a rib girl. So tender. I got the pulled pork and chicken. Both good. But, I won't lie, his was better. Only complaint was wishing the food was just slightly warmer. For sides, creamy Mac n cheese (next time I am getting that topped with brisket), potatoe salad and Cole slaw. Zero complaints. Come on Rockwall. Show up and support a local business.

Boss lady and I came in after the lunch rush. Only three other tables had customers. I ordered the 205 Plate with (what was to be fatty, not. It was cold and dry) brisket and the spicy sausage, which was delicious! My sides were green beans (with bacon) and fried okra...both very tasty. Loved the bread roll. We asked for butter, and they brought out some real whipped butter...SCORE! She had their special flat iron steak, cooked medium rare (always!) with salad and and fries (which need to be done more). Her steak was so tender and cooked perfectly! Dessert was their sampler. With a double order of banana pudding, a bread pudding and a chocolate cake. The best thing was the bread pudding but it needs a warm sauce on it. The others were just Ok. Overall, a good meal and experience. We'll be back to try something different.

Super friendly welcome from the wait staff and it turned out the owner was working too. Great conversation. Started with the armadillo eggs which are deep fried Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and served with ranch. These things are a weakness of mine and I ate the entire order. Next had a two meat platter with brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage. Sides were fried okra and broccoli. They have their fried food game down. Okra was hot and crispy and well seasoned. Delicious. The broccoli tasted like homemade steamed broccoli and was the exact texture I like. My brisket was super tender and tasty and the sausage was satisfying. I used the spicy sauce which gave everything a kick. Finished with the banana pudding with nilla wafers. Stuffed! Delicious meal and so friendly - I'll be back maybe for when they have live music on a weekend.

My only issue with this place is the miniature sides provided. What most places might use for serving some gravy or other sauce. They use for your sides. But other than that, their smash burger is awesome. Catfish is some of the best around & their BBQ is good too.

I had a chance last October while I was in Rockwall for a wedding to try it, but because the wedding was a top priority (whatever!!!), it didn't happen. Yesterday was my chance. Inside this food park was a vast sea of options, but my eyes were set on the back left where Smoak Town laid. They have a huge tent with plenty of tables to sit at under the shade and the space is wrapped in their wood, giving the joint an oak log fence around the food truck. By the time I got there a little past 1:30, they were out of sausage and mac and cheese. Sad! Other than that, my order was simple: brisket, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, and a side of their brew brisket beans. The brisket was a thick slice that was moist and flavorful. I love those chunky slabs of brisket. There is just something about a thicker cut that knocks skinnier cuts out of the park. The pork ribs were juicy and tender. I rarely get pork belly burnt ends over a sausage, but they are always a treat like they were here. Just a little taste of heaven. The beans were savory, hearty, and well seasoned. I was pretty impressed by them as well. The team working was super conversational and friendly. The guy in front of me was having his first taste of Texas barbecue, and they were being super helpful making sure he got a true, flavorful experience. This spot feels hidden but is worth the trip. There were quite a few people hanging around enjoying the excellent barbecue. Worth the pit stop and worth the drive if you live anywhere in the DFW metro.
