The service was excellent. It felt quaint but was extremely efficient. The prices are what you would expect for BBQ restaurants. The food was good but it was very bland. It lacked basic seasoning but when you add the sauce it all came together. The sides were pretty good. I had the Mac & cheese. Drinks were self serve and it was easy to pay. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. I'd recommend this place to friends and families. This could be a homerun if they learn to season the meat. read more

This place has amazing food! No waitresses, but ordering is a breeze with the QR code. I love the pulled pork sandwich. I've also had the nachos with pulled pork and pulled chicken...yummy either way. Try the Raspberry BBQ sauce! The ribs fall off the bone! You must give this place a try. Everything is so good. Update as of June 2025: downhill. The restaurant has changed completely. Whereas it was once a full table service establishment, it then became order-at-the-counter style during the pandemic (understandable). Today, you sit at a table and order from a QR and pay right then and there. Serve your own drinks. Then, strangely, it seems like they still expect a tip...for what exactly? I poured my own water. Food-wise...fine I guess though pales compared to the glory days. You get one free sauce in a TINY plastic ramekin (which they forgot to give me), and you pay for any sauces after that. What happened to the squeeze bottles on the table? Seriously. I also ordered a small size side of cole slaw, which was also left off. Why isn't cole slaw, at least in a small amount, not served automatically with a BBQ sandwich anymore? Ambiance is basically nonexistent. No music, fairly empty place, concrete floors, and everyone spaced so far out it felt like a wake. They need to bring back real portions, free/included standard things like sauce and sides, and for god's sake pep the energy of the place up a little. I have no plans to return. read more

This place is legit worth a stop if you want top notch BBQ. I had the 3 Meat Combo and it was so much food I barely finished it all, even after a day of hiking. The pulled pork and brisket were both really tasty and the ribs were the best I've had in a long time. The BBQ beans were just right without being too sweet and the collards and corn bread were likewise spot on. My half sweet/half unsweet tea was just right too. Service was really friendly and we grabbed a seat outside on the patio on a weekday around dinnertime. This place is a must try if you're in Crozet or on vacation in the nearby mountains. read more

I went here with some friends after a hike. They've moved to a QR code & online ordering system, which they charge a 10% service fee on, & then ask for a tip after. I appreciate the efficiency but not the extra charge. The drinks are self serve, & the only interaction you have with a sever is when they bring your food out. I got the pastrami sandwich which was good for the most part, I especially liked the sauce. Parts of the meat was rather tough though. Overall it was still good though, the great & pickles were great. I got the cheesy potatoes as a side, & was disappointed with those. It was small, tasted like frozen shredded hash browns with some cheese & bacon mixed in. Nothing to write home about. I did enjoy the casual atmosphere, there was some really nice outdoor seating, & overall the place was clean. read more

And I'm positive I've heard the Owner of this establishment mistreating her employees on multiple occasions. They've also had multiple roach problems to date. We stopped here for our first meal after coming into town. What a great choice! Everything was absolutely delicious! Gluten-free items are clearly marked and the staff is friendly. My husband and I tried multiple sides and meats with the two meat platter each. Everything was amazing. We were so full, but we even ordered the cheesecake and it is gluten-free as well! Man words don't express how much I love this restaurant. Unfortunately due to the issues at the piedmont place is is not as far from my location as I would like but I still will visit every once in a while. This spot really reminds me of a Paul George type player because it really has no weakness. You can a burger, you can get barbecue, this restaurant gives you what you want man - I am a big takeout guy and countless times this is the spot on a big sports night. An example of that would be the Super Bowl or the weird series where my old man and I enjoyed barbecue and baseball. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations and this will be our local BBQ stop going forward. Smoked has a ton of potential, but that is where it stops. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious. However, I have experienced the same issues across 4-5 visits. First and foremost, I have yet to see a smoker actually in use. If they aren't smoking meats on-site, then that leads me to believe they are simply keeping the meats warm throughout the day. This makes sense as the ribs, brisket, etc. generally are overcooked. On one occasion, everything our family received was cold. Cold sides, cold grilled cheese for our child, and luke warm meat. In addition, the only people working in the restaurant are teenagers. I have yet to see the owner or a pit master at the restaurant. In my experience, pitmasters are hard workers that attend to every detail of their food as they are proud of it and want to ensure a positive experience for their customers. At Smoked, it's just kids running the show. If the owner / pitmaster isn't there, then I feel like they don't have much interest in the product they are putting out to the public. It appears to just be a turnkey operation while they sit back and worry about other things. In a town with such limited dining options, it is disappointing that a place with such potential isn't realizing it. read more

We were headed to a winery in the Crozet area, which we don't know at all, so Off to YELP I go, once again! I ordered the: Smokehouse chicken salad club $13 signature smoked chicken salad, texas toast, swiss, honey mustard, bacon, lettuce, and tomato It came with a side and I chose the BEST EVER sweet potato fries I have ever eaten! The sandwich was amazing and huge!!! My hubby ordered the: Smoked 'Reuben' $14 house smoked pastrami, candied bacon, melted swiss, thousand island, slaw, grilled marble rye He chose the bacon cheesy potatoes as his side...what else can I say!? Smoked kitchen is a delightful lunch spot in Crozet with a southern menu. The atmosphere is casual and open which makes it a great lunch spot. The service is friendly and fast. While we were there we tried brisket and chicken. The meat was tender and flavorful. The biggest downfall I saw was the lack of veggie side options. Obvious you go for the delicious meats but as someone who needs something else which a meat I felt like I was left with few options. I did love their cornbread! Absolutely melt in your mouth perfection! We were a bit skeptical walking it and realizing it had a mission BBQ feel vs. sit down & be served restaurant. We ordered the pick 3 with 2 pork bbq and brisket and two sides, Mac and cheese and bacon cheese potato's. The meat was *chefs kiss* delicious and the Mac & cheese was yummy as well. The potato's were fine but I'd like to try a different side if we are ever back in the area. If your driving past this tiny city, take a chance and try some bbq. read more

It was easy to find off the interstate, but the lack of outdoor signage on the building marked "Piedmont Place" left us wondering where to park and enter. It was busy inside, even at 2pm, but our food came quickly and was delicious. The portions are large, and the kid portions are huuuuge (especially for $6). Don't miss this place. Being from Central Texas, we are a bit snobby when it comes to BBQ - especially something called "Texas Brisket ". We had the pulled pork and the Texas Brisket. The brisket was smoked perfectly and had a nice bark. The pulled pork was tasty and moist. There was a selection of great sauces. The sides were good and the Elbow Patch porter was great. There's a friendly staff and a clean restaurant. These transplants to Waynesboro will be back. read more
