    Half rack of ribs.

After a busy day running errands, Chris and I decided to try the new BBQ restaurant in town: SmokeRidge BBQ. It's located on Sprague in refurbished train cars, which set my heart ablaze in the right way! They vibe in there is great with adult standards scoring your meal. The ribs were absolutely succulent and the cilantro lime slaw (no sugar or dairy - quite healthy!) was such a great accompaniment. Sides kept coming to the table which was really too much for us so I'm confident you'll never leave there hungry! When you try it out, ask for Jenna, best server in the world - such a doll! Specialty Menus: Taco Tuesday and Ribs and a Margaritas on Thursdays.

Great new BBQ startup in the Spokane Valley. Kinda crazy starting a business during a pandemic but if they can endure this they'll thrive during the good times. Meats are well smoked and super tender. Sides are decent but they were out of a couple when we were there. Service was super friendly & accommodating in that food was supposed to be pre-ordered but they fit us in as essentially walk up customers. Dine in was not available but we will go back when it is. Hours are a bit erratic right now, too but again... COVID.

I finally went in this afternoon to try this place that I've heard so many good things about. And guess what? It's true! I went on Tuesday to try their pork street tacos, and wow, easily the best meal out I've had this year. The perfect blend of bbq and Mexican with an absolutely incredible hot and sweet salsa that gave it a great kick. A side of nicely seasoned black beans, and a perfectly blended mango Margarita (so good I had two, which I rarely do eating out). Planning to go back to try the Moroccan chicken next, which is offered on Thursdays. The decor was nice, the server was attentive as well. Highly recommended. (sadly my photo of the meal itself didn't take...)

First time trying smoked deviled eggs, very creamy with a light smoke. Amazing

First time at SmokeRidge BBQ, it was so good we came back every day the week we were here. The food was amazing, we tried everything on the menu. Service was great, staff is friendly.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Actually found this place by their patio pics and margarita flight pictures I saw on FB, so decided to give it a try. The location is definitely unique! Located on an old train caboose for inside dining gives me real Franks Diner vibes, in a good way. But don't be fooled there are no flapjacks here, they have all the smoked meats! The food was actually very good! All meats are smoked in house.. or in train? Either way they are all great! Also absolutely loved their jalapeño Mac and cheese!!

We have been customers at SmokeRidge for some time. We love the incredible Bbq and out of this world cocktails. While their menu has changed from bbq to pizzas, they still smoke all of their meats and run specials for bbq menu items. Last night was our first time enjoying their pizza. It did not disappoint. This is hands down our favorite place in the Valley, actually probably all of Spokane. The food is always fresh, meticulously crafted, unique and delicious. It is the best place for cocktails. Extensive menu, first class ingredients, beautiful presentation and very tasty. Plus you can take some of your favorites home in a growler. I took a picture of my Margarita flight, husbands Old Fashioned and appetizer. We were having too much fun and we're so excited when the pizza came I forgot to take a picture. Next time I will remember. Also owned by the nicest couple and has the friendliest servers. I wish I could sit on their patio every summer evening.

Now, I have traveled a bit, so I have tried lots of different styles of grilling. I have also been fortunate enough to have had friends who know their way around a smoker. In short, I have a pretty experienced bbq pallette. Is Longhorn the best I have had? Well, no. BUT they are pretty good. I really love the decor at the Valley location. And all the employees are hardworking and friendly. One of the things I am most impressed with is the prices. Bbq is labor intensive, time consuming, just expensive to do in a commercial capacity, especially with the skyrocketing cost of food. Yet Longhorn's prices don't seem to reflect that. With the quality of food, variety, and the portion sizes, I would have expected to pay more. They also do a nice salad bar, and currently have all you can eat nights that are well stocked with all the good stuff. Last point. I consider myself a chili master, perfecting my recipe over a couple of decades. While my chili is still better, Longhorns is pretty damn good. So if you are in the Valley and want solid BBQ for a fair price, Longhorn won't steer you wrong.

Not sure how you make one without it! Asked to speak to the manager (Shelley) about it, and as she walked to the table I already knew it was not going to go well. She blamed the waitress (she was new) blamed the owners (they changed things) she blamed the economy. Never took responsibility, never was slightly nice, and was really belligerent. We just wanted to communicate if you are going to charge for additional items, just inform the customer. So won't be in a hurry to go back. I encourage owners to hire people with the right attitude for the job!

Check out how they load this "bad" burger up; brown sugar, bacon, onion, lettuce, pickles, pepperoncinis, barbecue sauce, and "Hangry" sauce. That's an excellent topper. One of the marks of a good burger is if you need a lot of napkins and something to catch the overflow. This hits it on both points. You get a good amount of coleslaw as an option v. fries. The coleslaw is very fresh and really good tasting. Shout out to Stephanie who helped me place my call in order. Editors note, I think this burger totals only about 4 calories! lol

Our server was very busy, handling both the bar and restaurant areas. We all started with appetizers, which we shared. Fried green beans were good, kind of spendy. The onion rings were great and the tarter they came with was nice. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was cold and chunky. For meals, two of us went with their Irish Stew, salad, and absolutely delicious cornbread. Our other friend tried their Burnt End sandwich. She said it was really good. What I really wanted was BBQ turkey, which is on their online menu but not on the menu in the restaurant. It was a good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future.

I wandered into McKracken's Irish Pub in Spokane Valley after a long day chewing cud and was greeted with the warmest "moo" of hospitality I've felt in ages. The owner clearly knows how to make everyone--two-legged or four-hooved--feel right at home. Let's start with the Guinness--cold, creamy, and poured with care. It's enough to make a bull tear up with joy (and that's saying something). The Irish stew? Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor. The cornbread is the real surprise--soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the last bits of stew. Whoever's in that kitchen deserves a medal--or at least a salt lick of appreciation. They've got WiFi, so you can update your herd on your dining adventures, and the regulars add to that cozy, small-town pub vibe. Karaoke on Fridays is a real treat too--nothing like hearing a few pints in patrons belt out "Don't Stop Believin'" while I hum along in low, soulful moos. All in all, McKracken's is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, loosen your bell, and stay awhile. Great food, cold beer, friendly faces--what more could a mad cow ask for? -- The Mad Cow Reviewer
