Great BBQ spot! My fiancé and I ordered the 1/4 smoked chicken each, rack of ribs, and fried catfish. They were all solid! Literally the meat fell off the bone, and the catfish was fried to perfection! For sides we ordered the cheese fries which were crispy and delicious! Cole slaw (super fresh), mac&cheese (creamy), and the macaroni salad (pretty good). Something to note is that the smoked meats do not come with bbq, but they have bbq sauce and all the fixings in the screened in porch area. Pick your choice and slather it up;) you will not be disappointed. To top it all off, we ordered the peach cobbler which is served warm with a heaping scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, cause why not!? The food was so good! We stopped by twice during a week trip in Ocean City. The first time we had dinner. I had smoked chicken, mashed potatoes & garlic green beans...it was all good. The bbq sauce was outstanding. You could put that sauce on anything & it would be good. My husband had the pulled pork & brisket with macaroni and cheese. He let me try his brisket & we had to come back for lunch. For lunch, I had the brisket sandwich...so good. He had the burnt ends & fries. This place is an absolute gem. Anytime we're in Ocean City we have to stop by Smoker's for pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and fried pickles. I absolutely love everything this place has to offer and can't get enough. The even have a screened in eating area so it's like your outside, but you don't have to worry about bugs buzzing around you while you try to eat. Service is always fast and friendly and the food is amazing every single time. I would recommend this place for casual but great comfort food that the whole family will absolutely love. Good food and fast service. Good place for kids to eat because food was served fast. Ordered the Carolina Pork (vinegar based sauce) after reading a review on here about how much they liked it. Never had a vinegar based sauce and was happy with the choice. Had a side of baked beans which were okay. (grew up on Sonny's BBQ in Florida and nothing compares to there BBQ baked beans). Coleslaw was good. Chopped fine and very fresh. Could use some more sauce for my liking. Ended up ordering a regular pulled pork sandwich to get 2 more sides of Mac and cheese for the kids (and because I wanted to try it also). Sauce on sandwich had a strong tomato taste but it was good. Meat on both sandwiches was tender. I enjoyed the vinegar based sauce that was in the bottle at the pick up window better than the traditional BBQ sauce. The BBQ was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I decided to look up BBQ places in OCMD after spending the afternoon at the Tanger outlets. At first we looked into JR's but the reviews were mediocre and the cost was outrageous. The meat was perfectly smoked! We got a rack of ribs, 2 half chickens, and pulled pork. The rib meat fell off the bone, the chicken was perfectly pink inside, and the pulled pork was so tender (and not oversauced)! The BBQ sauce was also really good, both sweet and a little spicy. The amount of food that we got could probably have fed a family of 4. Along with the meat we also got 3 sides and cornbread, all for a reasonable price (especially for being at the shore). I would definitely recommend Smoker's. Although you have to venture over the bridge, it was worth the drive! read more

I have driven by Smokers a bunch of times. On Monday August 26, I took my gang in for lunch. Every thing we ordered was very good. My brother Vince told us the smoked chunk tuna was a must. HE WAS DEAD ON. This was a fresh piece of tuna, about two inches thick, did I say fresh? It was seasoned and smoked until rare. I am not an adequate enough wordsmith to do it justice. Simply said it made the meal. We had the pulled pork which was very good. I mean when it's good it's very good by rule. The ribs were smoked, no sauce which I prefer. Super fresh so much so you could taste the pig. The collared greens were perfect, beans were great. This is a terrific place and if I still lived in Ocean City, I would be a regular. Ordered the fried chicken which had zero flavor . But... It was fresh , tender and juicy. I'm not sure what happened here . Maybe they were busy and forgot to season it , however after I salt and peppered it the chicken really popped . I also love to to use hot sauce so that also added an additional flavor. As for the sides : awesome! The mashed potatoes were outstanding and the gravy was incredible. Mac n cheese didn't look great but the flavor took me back to my grandmas recipe. Last but not least .... Cornbread . Simply delicious. Thin moist and the added jalapeño's gives it a little heat on the back . What great flavor! U can eat in a covered patio or take it to go. Walk up to order and food comes out pretty quick. My kids enjoyed the pulled pick sandwiches, I had the pulled pork nachos n cheese. Pretty good BBQ... sauce is great, but tough to tell if meat is terrific- smoked right- with so much sauce on it. Perhaps asking for the sauce on the side is the way to go . I love to also taste the flavor of the mestique in the slow cooked meat. read more

We grabbed this and took it to eat on Assateague Island. Great tasting barbecue, I got the Beef Brisket Sandwich which was VERY tasty. Also got chili which was unique to me, it was the sweetest chili I've ever eaten. Wife went munchie style with dinner, getting Hush Puppies, Sweet Corn Bites, and a Salad. My family and I debated between this or McDonalds, and after choosing this "restaurant", I immediately regretted my decision... -The ribs were dry. -Mac and cheese was not even cheesy. -The mashed potatoes and chicken were both very bland. This is my favorite place to eat, bar none. We first heard about it when the Washington Post called it the best bbq in the DC-MD-VA area years ago. They weren't kidding. I'm currently trying to convince my fiance to let me ask them if they cater weddings but he thinks bbq and formal wear might not be a good combination. Their bbq is obviously great, but try the sweet corn bites and the tomato-cucumber salad as sides as well. They're *delicious*. I'm not a fan of Carolina-style bbq in general (so I've never tried theirs), but the Texas-style red sauce is perfection and they do sell by the pint which freezes well and will last you until they open up again next year. We take full advantage of this at the end of every season. If you like bbq and you're in the OC area you NEED to stop at Smokers. Though fair warning: it may put you off all mediocre bbq places for good. read more

Good, but surprisingly, not great. Here's the thing. They rely on the sauce for seasoning. Everything is smoked without any spices, sugar or salt. Fine, if you like smokiness only, but c'mon, gimme some spice. They don't even baste the meat with anything. There is only barbecue sauce and hot sauce to add some flavor to your Q. Order at the window on the left and wait on the porch to the right or the enclosed picnic area for your food. That day, they had a special of burnt ends, which were the favorite at the table. I also tried the pulled pork sandwich, which tended to be bland and dry, and the ribs, which were moist and tender, but as I mentioned, no seasoning. The smoked chicken was overpoweringly smoky. Bonus points for birch beer on tap. Overall, mediocre BBQ. My advice for you Smoker's, a pinch of dry rub would go a long way. read more

We visit OCMD as often as we can as we love the OSV area and get a yearly pass, so we try and make the most of it. We've went by the Smoker's BBQ Pit many times on our way there, people lined up outside, we figured it was a hot spot but never gave it a thought to stop and eat as we usually have our food with us, or just ate. This past weekend we were down for H20i and on our way home decided to hit up the OSV area before we went back north - and being a bit hungry we decided hey, lets try and stop as it's on the way and we are on the early side for lunch so maybe we'd beat the lines. Thankfully it worked out and we were second in line! Two pulled pork sandwich, make it a platter by adding 2 sides. Our food came quickly at the 3rd window (Place order to left, move one window over to pay when they call your card, then 3rd window to receive food) and we found a spot in the comfortable enclosed picnic area. I had to wipe down the table as the last people sitting there made quite a mess, coleslaw liquid everywhere, but nothing some napkin power couldn't remedy. We unwrapped our foiled sandwiches and i was at first a bit sad, the roll was a very soft potato roll, which is fine and traditional, but it was a soggy mess. The taste was okay though, sweeter bbq sauce. I added coleslaw on mine for a bit of texture and it was good. The best was the pulled pork itself, and the coleslaw. Fiance reported that the mac and cheese was not great, and the mashed potatERS were left behind. My collard greens were not good at all, they tasted like straight up soap. I know sometimes the leaves are washed with soapy water, but it was so soapy I nearly spit them out. Not the bittery goodness of collards that I'm used to. Service was interesting, not very friendly at first from the woman behind the window taking the orders. For some reason she couldn't understand us when we said "mashed potatoes". Was it my fiance's Philly accent? Was it my northern NJ Accent? Not sure, but we said it 5 times and she finally understood only when I pronounced it like "mashed potatERS". Which was weird, as it was the last thing in our order, she heard everything else okay. It wasn't loud or crowded with people so I'm really not sure what happen there, her scowling at us didn't help. Service at the other windows was day and night - friendly, upbeat, and made you smile! After we left Assateague Island break We stopped here for lunch at noon. It was empty then started to get busy. We ordered beef brisket, fries, corn bread, and a pepsi. The brisket was great. I loved the flavor. The rolls held up for the most part. I've heard of places using sliced bread. That would be a nightmare trying to eat. This was great to the last bite. The fries were bland and mediocre. Didn't do it for us at all. The corn bread had a real odd spice to it. I hated it. Whatever it was it was big enough for me to pick out and eat around.
