We come to Assateague/Ocean City, every year. Normally Smokers is our BBQ place but it was hit by lightning. So, off to the new Hogfin. We had 8 and they sat us right away. Great atmosphere with really cool menus. We were really surprised when the drinks came out and they were little pitchers. Really cool!!! I had the pulled pork sandwich (most of our party did). The pork was very tender and very good!! Everyone in our party loved the food. Very good food and great service with a clean, cool atmosphere. Can't ask for more. read more

Fîrst time dining at this new smokehouse under new management and wanted to try the pulled pork sandwich. Took my husband and a friend. Upon arrival we arrived through the back bar door and noticed the sign to see hostess at front. Easy to find and we're greeted by a very personable hostess. It wasn't busy, so seated right away. The space is large with TVs around both the dining space as well as the bar. Everything looked clean, our server was training another, each introduced themselves and very personable and attentive and answered our questions. 3 variety of sauces on the table (Carolina, mustard, BBQ). Between the 3 of us, we ordered appetizer of hush puppies (served hot, very good with a very delicious dipping sauce), Pork BBQ sandwich (small portion of meat, tiny portion of coleslaw and included chips), Grilled chicken sandwich (anything else have to add at additional cost), Cheeseburger (speaks for itself). The Pork BBQ was ok, but not something that would draw me back to have. The side included were chips which were hearty and very good. The chicken sandwich was tasty; however it was a tough bird and anything else was extra cost, including some "special sauce" listed with it. We wanted to add cheese and bacon to "dress it up" a little and each topping was $2 additional. Once served, there was nothing on it (mayo, mustard, nothing) and I had to ask for some Mayo. Was it expected to eat it dry or assumed I'd add BBQ sauce? Substituted Steak fries at additional cost and was a little disappointed and did NOT finish them because they were highly seasoned (a salty seasoned coating) which was not described on the menu otherwise wouldn't have ordered. The cheeseburger was ordered medium and came overdone so only could eat half of it, too dry. And tater tots weren't what I expected, so those also weren't finished. read more

Hate to trash a new place but these guys have been in restaurant business to long to get a pass. 4 of us had lunch. Waitress told us the lunch special was 1/2 rack of baby back ribs and a side, so we all ordered the ribs. Side was fries, okay at best but how do you rate a fry. The ribs‍. First thing they were St. Louis and not baby back, as most people know if you're expecting baby back you don't want St. Louis. Anyway no one spoke up because we are locals and just won't return. They were dry and tasteless. I can eat about 20 baby back ribs elsewhere but here with these, I was offered my friends ribs that he didn't want and I passed. Guys you're a smoke house. Ribs are simple and identifying the type of rib is actually ribs101 lol. Sorry we will pass on Hogfin. read more

We stopped in here for dinner and my hubby ordered hush puppies & ribs, and I got the pulled pork tacos. The hush puppies were SO good, you get so many with your order and the tartar sauce is on point. My tacos were equally amazing. The pulled pork was delish - my only thing was it could have used a teeeeny bit more BBQ sauce but that's just me. The sweet potato fries were also absolutely delicious & so was the Mac & cheese. Hubby took home half the ribs and he's still working on them! Overall great food, great place, and our server was wonderful! Good family restaurant, love the ambiance, this place gets 5 stars in my book! read more

We wanted to love this place, but unfortunately did not! Strange vibe for a place that calls itself a restaurant. Maybe the bar side has a better feel. Service on a Friday night was slow, and lackluster - 5 minutes for someone to approach our table - and it wasn't because they were busy. We should have taken this as a sign and left. Silly us. Our food was OK. Two of us ordered Mahi tacos - tasty. One got chicken - unable to get a comment from this person. And the other ordered pulled pork - again, got an "it's alright" from this diner. Sauces on the table were unmarked- not quite sure what to do with this whole experience. We had high hopes since the pictures on the electric sign out front looked amazing. Oh well... read more

First time here and not overly impressed. While the atmosphere was nice, service was slow. You could tell the waitstaff were still learning, so hopefully that will improve. When our entrees were brought to our table, they forget two of the sides. We had to ask twice for them. My husband got the ribs and said they were good and the baked beans had good flavor. I've never left a restaurant review before. The staff tries to be accommodating but management blows. Literally the only shitheads in ocean city that opted to cut off the air conditioning and open the doors during a heat advisory and and air quality advisory despite complaints from ALL customers And most of the staff. read more

My significant other and I went in to splurge on the businesses 1/2 deal on wings on Wednesday. My boyfriend took one bite of his wings and unfortunately picked steel wool out of his teeth. Since we both ordered one beer and one set of wings, the restaurant comped one beer and set of wings. The bartender offered no apology but asked her coworker, "Where's Amy?" and asked if he wanted another order. While it is nice the restaurant asked if he wanted more, no actual apology was given and we, both, were uncomfortable eating at the establishment. On one hand, my boyfriend bit steel wool and his tooth is in pain but we chuckled because the sauce was initially good. I understand that mistakes do happen as I've worked in the service industry for many years now. I am never one to complain, although with a situation like this and no apology was given, it was surely upsetting. Wishing it could have been a better first visit to ensure a returning customer as we're locals, unfortunately not the case. I did not eat the rest of my wings in fear of having wire found in mine, still offering to pay for them even without getting through one. Overpriced Sysco food. Not sure why they would buy a place and over charge and underperform. The place was great as Coastal Smoke.

Don't get the NY Strip. Worst piece of meat i have ever eaten. Toughest, piece of shoe leather that was full of hard fat all for 36 bucks. The Mashed potatoes were nasty and the fake mac and cheese is one step below Arby's. They did the whole 50.00 meal off the bill but the owner or manager never came out to the table to apologize or ask what they could do fix it. Thats because they know they are selling crap food. Run away. The meatless, hard fatty ribs weren't any better. read more

Bartender was great! Food has no flavor and my ribs were full of fat. The MacNCheese had Parmesan sprinkled on it which gave a sour flavor. And the BBQ sauces were empty and not labeled. Wanted this to be a great spot since we live in the neighborhood! read more

We were pleasantly surprised to find Hogfin on a trip to Ocean City. The building looks new, with ample parking. We had a party of 8, and were seated quickly. The staff was friendly and the waiter was attentive. Our order came out quickly and it was DELICIOUS. Best pulled pork ever. Cooked perfectly. Hearty food with a nice menu. We had street corn dip with chips which was. My wife had a pulled pork sandwich and I had chopped brisket with corn and beans. The brisket is a bit salty.
