This was easily one of my favorite restaurant experiences I've had in a while. If I remember correctly, our waitress' name was Jenny and despite being new at the time she NAILED IT with her customer interactions. She is absolutely an asset to the company, and she got some good laughs out of me and my friends. The food was also delectable. I feel like you can't go to a beach destination and NOT get seafood. Read full review - We have had a condo in the area for many many years. We would occasionally come to Bull on the Beach however, in my opinion, the food wasn't the best. I decided to give them a try tonight as it was convenient and they have some nice drinks. I am so glad I did! Maddy was our waitress incredibly professional, attentive, and friendly. She did a great job managing a full section. We ordered a variety of things including the Shredded Beef Sandwich, Pit Beef Sandwich, Kids Chicken Tenders and Spicy BBQ Wings. Everything was perfect! It certainly exceeded my expectations. I also ordered a Pain Killer for my vacation drink :) It was perfectly balanced. The vibe is very family friendly, tables and booths. Bull on the Beach is always a beach staple in my household. If you want more of barbecue vibe, this is your place. Service is good but the restaurant was a little dirty. The chicken wings are by far my favorite. My fries could have been cooked more. The crab dip was decent but would have been better with different bread. The crab cake was filling and delicious. The highlight was definitely the red mashed potatoes. Prices are fair and we only had to wait about thirty minutes for a table. The food came quickly, as well. There is a parking lot located in the back off 94th street and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Haven't been here in years & years! Bull on the Beach is a mainstay of open pit cooking in OCMD. Large comfortable dining room with booth & table seatings. I had the Open Face Roast Beef with Fries and Gravy over all. Tenderest roast beef ever and the Gravy was that Deep Dark Brown richness that accompanies it perfectly. My wife ate light tonight with a house salad comes with fresh cut romaine & blend of veggies & dressing and a Crock of their Chili Beef & Bean chili topped with cheese & jalapeños She said it just had enough spice Maddy our server was exceptional pleasantly cheery & attentive to our needs! Stopped by to get some dinner here last night. Overall everything was great. The crab dip was delicious. The rack of ribs was huge and hanging off the plate. Crab cakes were fresh with no fillers which is always the best. The saddlebagger was stacked high and had some nice thick and crispy pieces of bacon. Service was fast too which went well. I have been eating it here at least 10 or 12 times a year for the last 15 years. The food and service has always been excellent except tonight. Everything appear to be gone wrong tonight. I guess it's the start of the season. My one friend had oysters and shrimp. He said they both tasted like they said under the warming light way too long as well as the french fries it came with the meal I had ribs and they also tasted really tough and chewy on the outside like they set under the heat lamp also too long. Asked for a curly haired waiter that were a ball cap. I had to get other waiters to find him so that we could get our water glasses refilled. He just seemed to be socializing with other waiters. Any chance he had . I'm definitely not giving up hope on the Restaurant because it's been one of my favorite for years, but it is not starting all very well for the season. After another night out in the area we needed to find another place that was open later than usual. When my friend asked me what I was in the mood for all I could think of was gravy. Nothing else came to mind, I just wanted gravy. Good thing we came here. When we arrived the dining room was just shutting down. When greeted at the door we were told we could head to the bar and still put an order in there. So we sidled up to the bar, the bartender handed us menus, after looking them over for a few seconds we had our picks. We placed our order and just needed to wait. While we waited we took advantage bar top game we ended up sitting in front of. We played multiple rounds of tic tac toe. Just as we were about to give up on going a few more rounds our food arrived. I ordered the Hot Turkey, an open faced sandwich that comes with your choice of fries or mashed. I opted for the mash and as the description says, 'smothered in gravy.' Was it ever smothered in gravy, and that was the one thing that I wanted. It did not disappoint and I made sure that the gravy did not go to waste. The turkey was thinly sliced, almost fall apart. Those mashed potatoes, my god, I don't think I've had mashed potatoes like that in a real good time. They were more like whipped potatoes. When combined with the gravy it was the nearest I have been to heaven. This meal was so satisfying and turned a bit nostalgic for me. It reminded me of a meal my mom used to make. Like many, we are here on vacation. We weren't sure of what restaurants were nearby and we were tired and didn't really want to drive anywhere. I checked Yelp for nearby places and saw this place listed. It had decent reviews and it was close so we decided to check it out. We arrived and were seated immediately. We were seated right near the host stand and I believe there was a bar area in the other section but since we don't drink, I didn't check it out. Our server was very attentive and took our order promptly. We ordered the crab dip as a starter, which I didn't get a picture of unfortunately but have to say was delicious. I ordered the Beef, fries, & gravy. The beef was good but a little bland. The fries and the gravy was very good. My mom had the riblet sandwich, which was the special for the day. She asked for no pickles but it came out with pickles. No huge deal, she just took them off. My brother had the chicken tenders and fries. He said they were good as well. My party of three were seated in a back dining area with very large comfortable booth tables. The wall art/ decor is all Bull oriented with some interesting pieces. Overall it has the atmosphere of an old steakhouse in a very good way. I ordered the French onion soup and I cannot sing its praises high enough. The broth was rich, thicker than most and flavored perfectly. Plenty of melted tasty cheese and caramelized onions. Served at perfect edible temperature. One of the best I have eaten, Heaven! I had to have the hot beef and gravy as I saw it walking in on another diner's table. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The tender beef cooked to my order specs then thinly sliced and piled high on a piece of thick white toast. Smothered with a thick beefy hot gravy served with my choice of fries also gravied. My food was at the temperature all hot food should be served- hot! Made it so much more enjoyable. I just about licked my plate! LOL! My dining companions enjoyed their meals of the abundant chef salad with the ham, turkey and roast beef piled high. The combo sandwich with ham and beef with a pasta salad side. Only complaint was the the roll and a bit too much vinegar in the pasta salad. For dessert a hot Blondie cookie/brownie combo served with vanilla ice cream chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We were here years ago. Not sure why we ever stopped going. We were here a few days ago and had a great dining experience. Place was very clean, staff were very nice and accommodating. Our food was outstanding and plenty of it! Hubby had steak, fries and green beans, he loved that it came out very hot! I had the seared ahi tuna with slaw, I actually had do take out, there was so much of it! The prices were still very reasonable. Our beer was super cold and very good. The exterior of the building is really misleading on how big of a place this is. When you enter you are greeted by a host that seats you. They have a bar area is that is strictly 21 and over. A to go area and then the raw bar. Seating is by tables and booths. Music was a nice variety of rock. There is a bit of an "old" smell when you enter but then it kind of goes away or you get used to it. Service was friendly and helpful. Various checks were done throughout the meal. Appetizers were brought out together and entrees were delivered timely after appetizers were finished. Drinks were refilled accordingly. I had the French onion soup which was the best French onion soup I have had in a long time! So flavorful. I had the combo sandwich with pit beef and ham on a Kaiser roll with a side of pasta salad (side of the day). Came with lettuce, tomato and onion. The meats were very good but the Kaiser roll was not good. Just kept crumbling and it didn't taste stale or anything. I ending up eating it like a platter. It was nice to be able to get the beef well done too. They will make it however you like it. The pasta salad side was a bit too marinated for my liking. My sister had the beef and gravy which she said was delicious. My mom had the chef salad which was massive and loaded with meat. For dessert we had the "Brookie" which is like a chocolate chip cookie and brownie mixed with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It definitely completed the meal! Stopped in for lunch with my mom, I ordered the South of the Border wrap with coleslaw mom had the French Onion soup and the Dunker. She likes the soup gets it all the time as well as the Dunker, this was the first time ordering the South of the Border wrap it was very good it has black beans and corn in it and I asked for the mustard on the side. Only thing I didn't like was the wrap gets soggy fast from the roasting beef. But I would get it again. I have sat at the bar a few times and the steamed shrimp and cocktail sauce is excellent. The cocktail sauce is probably my favorite version I've ever tasted. I went back and tried the turkey sandwich. There is a pit beef place in Baltimore that makes a phenomenal turkey. The way Bull on the beach described the sandwich was very similar. It was like a lunch meat turkey in my humble opinion. Not as thinly sliced or flavorful. The mashed potatoes were bland and lumpy, just not my preference. Came to OC to check on a friend's condo & remembered it was my brother-n-law's B-Day. He works as a condo maint. mgr & lives alone, so to make his 61st Day I'd take him to lunch at Bull On the Beach. Not being too hungry because of fantastic breakfast at the General's Kitchen, that I'd just get wings & oysters apptizer. The 61 B-Day Brother got the sliced beef sandwich & when I said to the waitress that it's his B-Day that she just looked & said nothing...much like: Who gives a shit. She only said: Are you ready to order? His sandwich was rather nice & he liked it too. My oysters were the size of tiny hush-puppy & just as crusty & never had any ever worse. The old bay wings were almost raw with little flavor. Had to ask twice for a glass of water & his iced-T was fair and never mentioned if he wanted a refill... same behavior of: Who gives a shit. We were dressed well & not looking like construction laborers in case some might ask of our appearance being shabby...nope! This is the second or third time we've tried Bull on the Beach when visiting Ocean City, and we are just not impressed with the food. This last meal had steaming hot gravy masking ice cold items (that should be hot) on a plate. Seafood potato boat, appetizer had almost inedible, chard potato skins with a plate full of cheese, masking a few bits of seafood. All items lacked any flavor to them - very bland. My son is autistic, and him and I both suffer from gastroparesis. I don't mind an establishment having a bathroom is for customers policy . They are a BUSINESS after all. However, our physical limitations mean we sometimes need the bathroom first. I asked the hostess where the bathroom was . I was succinctly looked at like trash and told to go next door.
