They had a great selection of beer and sodas, and the menu posted on yelp was accurate- so I came ready and excited for pulled pork. I have only been here once to meet a buddy and hang out and catch up. While the odors of cooking BBQ was a draw, I wasn't blown away as other reviewers led me to believe I would be, especially at the prices charged. Okay, it's hard to review a restaurant off of one dish, but if this one dish is indicative of the rest of the menu...yum. We had the Frito Pie with the Goodness meat (a mix of meats mixed with mild sauce). Fritos are topped with beans, your choice of meat and cheese sauce and sour cream. Phenomenal. Had a side of cornbread that was sweet and tasty. We also sampled the brisket chili--more saucy than I expected but still tasty. Spoke with the owner for a few minutes. Solid Brisket, and definitely the best brisket I have had in New England. Had the brisket and the ribs. Both were good, but the brisket really shined. Owner used to work for Rudy's, so if you're a Texas BBQ fan, this is very good and similar. To everyone complaining about the price, this is actually pretty reasonable compared to a high quality BBQ place in Texas. The meat is high quality and the service is very personal. Got a platter (which isn't on the menu for some odd reason) 2 meats and 2 sides. I picked the brisket, pulled pork with baked beans and cole slaw. Brisket was flavorless, not smoky, no smoke ring and no bark whatsoever, looked and tasted like it was baked in the oven. Pulled pork was covered in a sauce that tasted like sweet and sour mixed with ketchup. Traditionally you would not cover your meat in sauce unless your trying to cover something up. Cole slaw tasted equally as flavorless, tasted like veggies covered in mayonnaise. No flavor from spices or sweetness at all. It should have at least one of those characteristics. Then we have the beans..... EXCELLENT! They were delicious! Smoky and full of flavor. Seems like another backyard bbq guy who's friends don't know what real smoked bbq is told him his stuff tasted good and he should open up a restaurant. Another letdown for smoked food in NH. I decided I didn't want to stand in front of the grill during a recent family birthday party. I figured I would get catering from Chipotle. I delayed in putting the actual order in 24 in advance. I wanted to pick up at 12:30 PM and called at 3:00 PM. So the earliest I could pick up was 24 hrs or 3:00 PM, not going to work. I figured I would give the Smokeshow a call to see if they could fit us in. NO PROBLEM. Not only were they very accommodating they were very pleasant to interact with. Food: Amazing! Pulled pork, turkey and brisket with Mac and Cheese, coleslaw, Jack' D Up Mashers and Texas Caviar. Add in the slider buns, sauces, pickles, onions, and jalapeños and you have a very satisfied group of party goers. Everything was very tasty and everyone commented on what an excellent meal it was. A couple days and several left over servings later, it's still great. I rarely post reviews but thought my bad experience with a chain restaurant that turned into a fantastic experience with a local restaurant was worth sharing. Despite all the good reviews, we didn't think Smokeshow was particularly good. Located in a tiny strip mall on a road east-northeast of Concord, we were hoping the location wasn't an indicator of quality. The restaurant itself was half kitchen, half a handful of tables (not as fancy as most diners). The brisket was OK if a little dry. The barbecue sauce was nothing special (though they seem to think it's really good). The pulled pork wasn't great. The sides were where things went from OK to poor - the mac 'n cheese was really not good, the collard greens lacking flavor, the corn bread cake-like and not interesting. If you're hankering for barbecue, you might make this work, but keep your expectations low. read more

Had dinner here today. I must say the location is in a run down plaza. You forget about this when you're greeted my the young men working there. They were sooo respectful and attentive. The menu consists of ribs, briskets, turkey, sausage etc with several slides. I had smoked turkey with a bean salad. My husband had ribs, Mac and cheese and collard greens. The turkey was excellent. The place is nothing fancy, a typical, authentic BBQ spot, smoky and all things permeated by smell of of meat and the sauce. When you're from Texas and live in NH one has a tendency to test out Smoker and BBQ places. This one will not disappoint. Brisket is tender and rendered well. Jalapeño cheddar sausage is from the Texas Hill Country. All smoked well. Mashers- no brainer. And the spicy BBQ is spot on with heat and flavor. Great people running the place. EXCELLENT! - But bring your own hot sauce! My friend Blaine emailed me today about this place. The owner of Smokeshow managed a legendary place in Texas(Rudy's), that Blaine had been to and loved. He ended up back in NH, did a stint at KC's Ribshack in Manchester, then opened his own place - the Smokeshow. I think it's been open for 2 weeks. Place is nice and clean, with sparse decor. Some blues music was in the background. I was at the counter for less than a minute when a little slice of smoked turkey was offered to me as a sample. I was there for the brisket, but I wolfed it down instantly. Probably the best turkey I've ever had! I ordered the brisket($8) and a side of beans($2.50). Both were excellent and had generous sized portions. The beans have chunks of meat in it and were terrific. The brisket was sliced thin, very smoky, and very tasty. I save a sample for my meat expert friend, Richard, and he LOVED it. The server at the counter told me that their sauce was home made. It had a great taste but no zip, and there was no alternative. I told the owner he should offer a hotter sauce as it's a very popular thing now. He said his sauce was similar to Rudy's without all the cayenne. He felt the area might not be ready for the heat. I told "NO, we need the heat!!". A BBQ place without hot sauce is like a bicycle without a seat! He said it's coming - hopefully sooner rather than later. The owner is on top on things and asked me several times if I was happy with the food, etc., - nice to see! The free samples are a superb marketing tool - I'll be trying the smoked turkey next! This is the best barbecue we've found since moving to New Hampshire 11 years ago. But it's not as good as barbecue from Louisiana or Alabama and the prices are pretty high. Located in a strip mall, there's not much sitting and it's a pretty cramped space. But I really like the Goodness sandwich and get it every time (a mixture of chicken, pork and beef, I think). The meat is tender and full of flavor - and they put a lot of meat in the sandwich. My husband and son love the pulled pork, and we all love the cornbread. This year we tried the smoked turkey, and it was honestly the best turkey I've ever eaten. But it cost freaking $73 for a 4 lb. turkey breast!! It wasn't that good. read more

The location was easy to find, the facility was nice, the staff was warm and friendly but I am here to tell you... The Brisket sandwich was out of this world & the Mac-n-Cheese was like a happy meal because after I was done, I was oh so happy! We discovered Smokeshow BBQ on a recemt getaway. Let me start by saying, Concord and the surrounding areas seem to be a desert wasteland of quality culinary adventure. Smokeshow BBQ is an oasis in this otherwise sad, forgotten gastronomy. I'm so happy to write this review. Smokeshow has awesome smoked meats. The brisket is definitely not to be missed and the white turkey chili special should be devoured with reckless abandon. We had the coleslaw, mac & cheese, and jacked up mashers. All were yummy. But I'd give my pinky fimger for another shot at the chili and the cornbread. Seriously, do not skip the cornbread. Tbe best I've had and I've traveled the US and had the best BBQ in the country. I was placing my order and the phone in the back rang. The guy helping me said "hold on one sec" and then disappeared for 10 minutes. A customer came in behind me and after 5 minutes asked if anyone was here. A kid came out and told me they don't let him cut the ribs and the went out back again. right about the time my watch hit 10 minutes the kid appeared and I said "can you at least cut the ribs? It shouldn't take 10 minutes to cut 6 ribs". He finally grabbed a woman who cut it the meat. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the wait. The ribs were fatty (you can get better quality at Sams club) and the Carolina sauce is literally just mustard with a little spice. Not even Carolina sauce.
