Fried pickles 7/10 The crunch of the breading was perfect and the pickles were pipping hot. It was a little too salty though and it was slightly overpriced. Brisket stuffed Grilled cheese 7/10 The brisket wasn't Smokey enough and too fatty. It was decently flavored though and unique French fries 8/10 It was crispy and hot Chicken sandwich 7/10 It was like a chicken tender placed on a brioche bun. I wished that it fit the sandwich better and wished there was more veggies and an option to add avocado. The flavor and textures were good though Corn 8/10 It was what I expected Banana pudding 1000000/10 I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this. I would come back here just for it. The flavor was amazing and the texture was great. I thought I was stuffed but too a bite and couldn't help but finish it. Overall, the food was pretty decent and the dessert was to die for but they blasted club music at 6pm on a Monday evening which was not ideal. 80% empty on New Year's Eve might mean something. That first observation was followed by our meals (Fire Grilled Shrimp, Two Favorites-Brisket & Jalapeño Spiced Sausage- and Chicken Tenders Platter) which confirmed the fact that their might be a correlation to the initial empirical findings. The shrimp while small were pretty tasty, along with the cole slaw side. Sister was satisfied. Son's double favorites were consumed with relish and upon being asked, he responded with a deep belch and contented smile. Only my hulking tenders remained unfinished on the plate when we called for the check. Heavily breaded and deep fried long enough to exit the oily bath a shade too dark indicating over cooking. Tasting of overused oil, the tenders were anything but. Their shell was a hard encasement, trapping the thin chicken cutlets within. Neither the honey mustard dipping sauce, nor the various BBQ squirters employed managed to bring them back to a reasonable degree of taste or texture. "Awful," isn't too strong a word for the experience. On the other hand, the Baked Beans were excellent. Where to end our Smokey Bones New Year dinner? With Three Stars and dessert at home seemed the only fair place to conclude our less than joyous celebration. read more

The food is really good. I tried the loaded baked potato (sans sour cream and cheese) and it was delicious! The honey bourbon chicken breast is a must try...the sauce is sweet, but not too sweet. Their Memphis dry rub wings are amazing! I also like their salad dressings...the bacon vinaigrette is my fave. The service is decent. He checked on us and brought the food out in a paced order. They have a bar area along with plenty of tables and booths. It's a great place to grab something a little different to as they have donuts on the menu. read more

Unfortunately it's clear this place is understaffed which is typical in today's environment so you can't really hold it against them. There was no one at the host desk and it seemed like one person was doing bar, serving and seating. This is a very large restaurant and there were not a lot of people even though it was a weeknight. Maybe 3 or 4 other tables we could see. We ordered shipwrecks which are quite tasty and some shots. The server didn't know what a red headed slut was made of and I think we confused it a bit with a jager bomb when we explained it. He said he'd figure it out which resulted in a mix between the 2 which was still good. My friend was really disappointed in her salad as the steak wasn't great. She had wanted steak but didn't want to pay $44 for a ribeye and opted for the healthier salad option for half the price. The steak was pretty grisly and she said just not good. My husband enjoyed his burger and my ribs were tender. I really liked the baked beans. I skipped the Texas toast because there was really plenty of food. read more

Had dinner from here recently. To say the food was lack luster would be an understatement! First, service was poor. Took them too long to get my order together. The food was terrible. What appeared to be a more than a half empty restaurant, I would've expected surely my family of four would be seated relatively quick. I've never been to an establishment where 80% of the bar is covered in old plates, cups, and etc from guest who've already departed the premises. The services were horrible, the guy at the front couldn't even find my order. The wings I ordered were the size of my pinky. It's sad that this establishment is and has gone completely down. Oh, Smokey Bones...what happened since the last time I visited? It's been quite awhile (December 2019), but back then the food was delicious. Not this time...I just ordered a BBQ grilled chicken breast, baked potato for the side, and it came with garlic bread, and a coke to drink. The BBQ chicken breast was bone dry, the baked potato was not fluffy - instead was overcooked. The coke was just okay. The garlic bread was good, the one thing I enjoyed from the meal. I'm disappointed! Last time I ate here back in 2019, I ordered a BBQ grilled chicken sandwich that was juicy and delicious, and the baked potato was fluffy and fresh. I have been wanting to go to Smokey Bones for years and finally I got the opportunity to. As we entered the restaurant, well at least tried to. The dead-bolt to the door was engaged, so we had to turn it to get in. As I approached the hostess, I told him about the door but he was not aware. A server passing by told him that it was broke. Now the restaurant is very spacious, lots of booths and different sections to sit, but for some reason everyone was seated in one section next to the bar. All the other sections were empty. I found this to be very odd. I ask the hostess why everyone was seated, grouped together in one area of the restaurant next to the bar. He responded that the restaurant is short staff. As he lead us to our table, he decide to put us in the main passage way, right next to the bar, around a lot of other people in the specified are. Now I felt very uncomfortable and considering COVID-19, I did not want to sit at this table. I was about to leave until my wife ask, if we could sit in one of the closed sections, they obliged us and put us in a closed section but still very close to other customers. I think Smokey Bones had no concern for its customers safety of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our servers name was Tia, she was AWESOME! Tia made sure we had drinks, consistently checked on us and gave us ample time to review the menu because Smokey Bones has a large selection. They have everything from BBQ, Smoked items, Grilled items, excellent drink menu with some very unique drinks. Speaking of the bar area, it has plenty of seating and many TV monitors to watch sporting events. I know come next Super Bowl Sunday this place will be packed. The decor is of the restaurant is nice, but it is in need of some upgrades. After reviewing the menu, we ordered some meatless nachos from the appitizer. It was served warm, the cheese on top was over-melted and the cheese in the middle was still cold. Because the cheese was not melted all the way, the toppings kept falling off. It was so frustrating that I gave up trying to eat them. I wanted to take them home but when our food came out, the server took the nachos out of our way to make more space. I never seen those nachos again. Now the portions of the food were nice. I had beef, pulled pork, BBQ chicken and ribs, Broccoli and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was a bit of a disappointment! Very bland and not really cheesy. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, the chicken was just ok. The pulled pork was dry and had a bad smell to it. But I realize that's just how pig smells. I drowned the pulled pork in one of the BBQ sauces at the table to give it flavor, I was not impressed. My wife had a pulled pork plate with slaw and fries. She didn't have much to say about it but she did finish the fries and half of the slaw. We were full from eating the nachos I guess because neither of us barley touched our dinner. So we were just sitting there. Tia noice us and came right over. She offered some boxes and brought the check. Must admit she was the best thing of the evening. WE WASTED AN HOUR HERE TO NOT GETTING OUR ORDER TAKEN. We went here an hour ago (around 12ish). The place was almost empty. They were 6 of us, they were trying to have us sit on a booth that was meant for 4 people. When we said we would like to sit on the long table, we were told that they are trying to reserve the table for the party at 5:00 PM!!! Then, the lady took our drink orders. I forgot her name, but she has braces on. Around 10 minutes later, her family came in to dine in as well. The waitress then took their drink order (and serve their drinks, BEFORE US!!!) She gave our drinks, but was missing one. she then TAKE HER FAMILY'S ORDERS PRIOR TO giving the missing drinks on our table. We ended up leaving because that was INAPPROPRIATE. Probably will be the next restaurant in NN that goes the way of Red Lobster. This place is doing the same things that Red Lobster did. Prices are ridiculous and portions are almost nonexistent. Wife and I went there Sunday around 1p for lunch. Only 4 tables had people at them. This place used to be packed on a Sunday afternoon. Wife ordered a chicken sandwich and got a chicken nugget on a bun without any toppings (mayo, etc) or anything else - and that was after being asked by the waitress what she wanted on the sandwich. Her sides were coleslaw - about a quarter cup if that - and nothing else. I ordered a combo which was supposed to be BBQ chicken breast and brisket (which I was charged extra). The breast was about 4 bites big and the brisket was two pieces - each about 1/2" wide and 3" long. One piece was about 50% fat and the other was just a chunk of fat. MY sides were 3 tbsp of baked beans. I also purchased 4 pieces of cornbread which was almost $10. And all this cost in excess of $62. I have severe doubts that we will visit this place again. I wonder how long it will be before these chains figure out that people are not going to continue to pay these prices for almost nothing. read more
