After checking out a movie almost two weeks ago, Sophia and I stopped here for lunch. When it comes to franchise restaurants, Texas Roadhouse has been one of our favorites. I rarely remember ordering a dish that I didn't like from here. Let's see how this visit went. It was fully packed when we arrived. The wait was 15-20 minutes which was manageable for the both of us. Once we got seated, it took almost 10 minutes to receive service. But once we had a server, things went a lot quicker. I forgot the guy's name, but thank you for saving the day. During the wait, we did look at the menu and made our choices. For apps, we picked fried pickles which came with both ranch and horseradish sauces. They really exceeded our expectations. The cost was $7.99, but they sure didn't skimp on the amount (same as before when we ordered previously). There was enough to take home. For my main entree, I chose the grilled BBQ chicken dish with Ceasar salad and loaded baked potato (minus sour cream). The dish itself was good and made me full near the end. Texas Roadhouse once again winning the day. Except for the long wait for service, lunch went well for us. A busy atmosphere for everyone involved so things do happen from time to time. We had a very nice meal this Sunday afternoon. We waited until after the lunch crowd and before the dinner one. They still were fairly busy. Madlin took very good care of us. She was attentive but not overly so, and she made sure we had everything we needed and that our food was just as we wanted it. The restaurant will be poorer without her if she leaves ever! We had a great time. The restaurant was pretty cluttered and there were quite a few tables that needed attention....this was in other areas where we were not seated. We had another disappointing meal at Texas Roadhouse. While I previously promised myself I would not be back after my last experience there, my daughter asked to go to Texas Roadhouse for her birthday so I acquiesced. This timel, we were pleasantly surprised that the food quality was very good. The rolls we're excellent as usual, the steaks were tender, flavorable and cooked perfectly. Even their version of the blooming onion was hot and falling apart. But the service. Once again was greatly lacking. The waiter was friendly enough but when our orders arrived there were multiple mistakes. My wife and I both ordered the filet and shrimp but when our meals arrived, only my wife got shrimp. I didn't. My wife also ordered a stuffed sweet potato but got a regular baked potato. Both of us requested sauteed mushrooms but there were only a couple on the plate. Later in the mea,l I discovered most of them were underneath my baked potato instead of being on top of the steak. We ordered alcoholic beverages along with regular sodas and neither came out with the meals. I finally got up and went looking for the waiter to ask where our drinks were. He acted pretty impatient when I found him and said, "I just haven't had time to go back and get them yet." When we finally did get our drinks, one of our party ordered a daiquiri. We were almost finished with a meal before it finally showed up. When I realized I was missing my shrimp, I asked to speak to a Manager. When she arrived, I explained we had multiple mistakes on our order. She was gracious and said she would get me my missing shrimp. I was almost done with my steak and so told her not to bother, but to make sure I was not billed for them. About 10 minutes later, the waiter showed up with my shrimp. Later when we got the bill, I was shocked to discover they had charged us for it. Because I couldn't find our waiter or the manager I told another waiter about the situation. I explained that I told them I didn't want the shrimp and I especially didn't want to be billed for them. They they said they would have them remove the shrimp from the bill. So, where last visit, both the service and food were bad, this time the food was quite good but the poor service continues unabated. Again I hope to find different steak restaurant that I understands that service is as much a part of dining out as the food is. read more

This is a great Texas Roadhouse! We had a wonderful server and plenty of rolls and peanuts to eat. We ordered 2 cheese fries for the table which were delicious but a little too greasy. My sirloin was cooked well and seasoned well! It was tender and delicious. The apple sauce on the side was very liquidy, but also sweet and really good. I was on vacation in Williamsburg, VA and came to this spot. Wow, what a eyeopener. The place was trashed. In the first room to the right, there was trash and straw papers all over the floor. My friend said that she hoped they did not seat us in there. Well, where they sat us was not much better. I have never seen such chaos. the floor was littered with napkins, straw papers and food. Our food was good as it usually is. I like TRH. After we ate, we asked to speak to the manager . She acted like it was no big deal. She actually said she had a 30 person staff and they cleaned up when they could. So out of those 30 people, no one could sweep the floor? Disgusting is all I can say! They need to do a whole lot better!! I would never go back to this one again, EVER! I wish I had taken pictures. read more

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night at 5:30 and the place was always crowded. Had a party of two and checked in on the app prior to arrival so we had maybe a 5 minute wait. The ambiance is very causal and noisy, but to be expected for a full restaurant. The waitress was on top of her game and we had drinks ordered along with our food within three minutes. Got our salads out quickly and about the time we finished our salads the entrees were there. Steaks were cooked as requested and had a great flavor. My husband placed a call ahead order for four dozen of rolls or three dozen I don't know but super disappointed because that was there was no container of butter at all in the bag and you know people get Texas Roadhouse rolls and the butter is a must. Now granted my husband didn't check the bag but still butter is definitely supposed to go with rolls highly disappointed even though the order was ready for pickup at the time promised such a bummer. This past Friday in particular parking seem to be a bit of a hassle but people made it work and evidently this is the only one in the area got your own risk. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

We visit this Texas Roadhouse often when we are sure that Brenda is working. She makes the trip worthwhile. Recently we were happy to see that the parking lot has been repaved and there are now spaces for motorcycles. Parking is always easy, and if we arrive at a busy time, which I try hard not to do, we just park at the credit union across the street. It's a short walk. The food and drinks are always perfect and we sometimes get a dessert to split. The famous rolls are great every time. The vibe at Texas Roadhouse is always light and fun. The food here never disappoints me. They always serve fresh food that taste delicious. My server was super attentive and make sure I had everything I needed to make my meal amazing. Now the reason I rated a 3 star is the parking. As much as I love Texas Roadhouse, the parking lot is like a 3 ring circus especially on Frday and Saturday. Between water filled spaces, half the lot reserved for carside to go, you have to ride around to find a space. I would rather drive another 30.mins to their Suffolk location because their parking is amazing and never a hassle. read more

If you're in the Hampton/Newport News area and are looking for a restaurant that's open after 10:00 pm, Texas Roadhouse is your place. I love it here! The portions are large and the rolls are to die for. My go-to were the Chicken Critters with a side salad. The tenders ranked well on the flavor and super great on the comfort. And did I mention the rolls??!!! Service can range anywhere between excellent to average. However, due to amount of customers dining, it is easy to see how hard working the servers are. The ambiance is casual, lively, and comfortable. I love that the local college sports team is represented. Two thumbs up. read more

The prime rib, ordered medium rare, had the consistency of shoe leather and was the worst prime rib I have ever eaten. The steak fries and broccoli were adequate. The waitstaff did an excellent job; however, that does little to compensate for the food. I really didn't want to give this place a 1 star but my prime rib had so many problems. But first, the wait was pretty quick at 10 minutes. We got refills quickly and the cactus blossom was great. The place was really loud and packed so we had to repeat orders a few times. Both the sirloin and prime rib were served room temperature to cold. Our server thankfully took the prime rib back to reheat but as soon as I got my prime rib back, it smelled like wet dog. I was hoping it was just the smell but the taste was that but stronger. I forced myself to swallow to at least give it a try by the smell and flavor were overwhelming. IMHO it's the BEST of all Steakhouses. They provide you with au jus and horseradish happily on request.

Have been back many many times since my last review 7 years ago. Really can't complain about anything service is always good and so is the food. The place hasn't changed minus the fact no more peanuts and the peanut shells that used to be all over the floors lol. The only reason I'm giving this rating a 4 stars is the Kraft Mac n Cheese they serve is not acceptable for Mac n cheese when you dine out. read more

I have been going to this location for over 15 years tonight. My daughter ordered me a to go order for the 8 ounce steak dinner. I was very disappointed. I picked it up. I was on time. It wasn't cold, but the steak had so much crystal in it I had to go through three knives to be able to cut the steak. It was the 8 ounce sirloin. I've been getting the same steak every time I've gone here they used to be tender. This one was very hard to chew. I got it medium that's how I've always ordered it whoever cooked it had to have known it had that much gristle in it. It was horrible. I did not know till I got back home all the way in hampton how bad it was furthermore there was no condiments. We had ordered ketchup, steak sauce, silverware, sour cream, the whole 9 yards online my bag was completely empty with one thing of butter in it for the potato I ordered a butter and sour cream potato so I had to go back in and get all the condiments. We also ordered an extra dressing which we did not get. Also I was outside and no one came to my vehicle. I had to go inside after 15 minutes and get it but I'm very disappointed in your stakes. They have gone up five dollars in the last two years and I tell everyone about how good your steaks are and it's so inexpensive and that was the worst steak I've ever had in my life. I am very disappointed if y'all are gonna start charging twice as much for the steaks, please let it be at least the same quality. I think there should be some comeback on this. read more

They sat us right outside the kitchen and bathroom. After expressing my displeasure with the table that the hostess rudely ignored, the manager reseated us to another table. They went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable, and then they offered us any additional appetizers or drinks to make sure that there was no other problems Other than those mentioned above, the service is excellent. They made sure my drinks were for, and they checked on us throughout the night. The menu items were total. There are so many different options that they have; their steaks are explained on how they should be cooked, and they also give you a picture so you can see what it is. I must caution you, though, that Texas Roadhouse does cook their steaks on the rare side, so if you ask for a medium well, you may get a medium with a little bit of pink inside, so keep that in mind if you go there. They do have a full-size bar, and they have a variety of bar items. I ordered some drinks that I'd never had before, and they were delicious. The decor in the Restaurant is a rusted western look. It fits that Roadhouse scene, and I like it. To top things off, the price is excellent. You get a lot of food for what you pay. The least successful item I had was the sautéed mushrooms. They were cooked to the point of almost tasting like charcoal. If you picked through them, the unburnt mushrooms were delicious. I thought a dinner at Texas Roadhouse would be a fun way to bond with the Literature Club outside our usual poetry sessions. Something casual, loud, and full of energy very different from our quiet classroom. I booked the table, printed out little name cards (because of course I did), and hoped the girls would enjoy a taste of something... rustic. The moment we walked in, Sayori gasped at the peanut shells on the floor like she'd stumbled into a crunchy wonderland. She immediately started naming the bread rolls Rollbert, Rollina, Rollius Maximus and devoured them with the kind of joy that makes you forget we're all trapped in a visual novel. Natsuki grumbled about the country music until the servers started line dancing. Then she tried to join in, nearly knocking over a tray of steaks. I pretended not to know her for a moment, but she was having fun, so I let it slide. Yuri was quiet at first, clearly overwhelmed by the noise and the scent of grilled meat, but once she opened the menu and saw "herb-crusted chicken," she relaxed. She spent ten minutes analyzing the seasoning, murmuring something about rosemary evoking forgotten memories. I think she was writing a poem in her head the whole time. Meanwhile, Natsuki ordered ribs and critiqued the plating like she was judging a cooking show. She asked for extra napkins and got another bread roll instead. She respected that. I had the grilled salmon. It was good almost suspiciously good. The butter tasted like someone coded it with love. I started wondering if this restaurant was part of the simulation or if we'd glitched into a real-world franchise. I didn't say anything, of course. No need to break the fourth wall again over cinnamon butter. Our server was a saint. Sayori asked if the cactus blossom was a real cactus. Natsuki tried to order off the kids' menu "for research." Yuri asked about the ethical sourcing of the steak. And I just smiled and apologized for all of us. They didn't flinch once. That kind of composure deserves a poem. By the end of the night, Sayori was trying to line dance with a bread roll in each hand, Yuri was quietly scribbling notes on a napkin, Natsuki was arguing with the jukebox, and I was wondering if this chaotic, laughter-filled evening was the most poetic thing we'd done all semester. Texas Roadhouse may not be a place for delicate verse, but it's perfect for messy joy, shared meals, and watching your club members try to two-step between tables. It was overly seared, but the quality of the meat and texture was very good. Fast paced kitchen contributed to this slightly over seared steak. Overall a very good steak. Prime rib. Finally, a business is serving prime rib cuts; albeit, not prime cut. Texture of the prime rib is good. I asked for a rare cut seared on a grill to medium. Waitress said they have flat tops and grill. I asked for the grill atone minute each side. It was over cooked and how it came out looked like a flat top vs grill. Good cut that they reduced in quality. Not sure if it's a communication issue between waitress and kitchen or if chef / cook really don't know what they are doing. Overall, good (3 star) experience. I'll give them a four star overall with the repetitive very good quality cut and service. read more

I am on vacation and I heard so much about the Texas Roadhouse. Go try it you will love it. So here's my problem with Roadhouse. Our waitresses we ended up with 2 did okay. They did get the children lunch right chicken nuggets and fries. My lunch for me was the problem. I ordered a Cesar salad and we requested the salad mixed with 1000 island instead of the Cesar dressing. Mixed Is the word of importance. Not done, 2. Half slab of Ribs and fries. Fries were old, ribs overcooked or just sitting too long under some heating lights. Ambiance: LOUD. Expected. My problem as always is the food and service. The best things on the table. The rolls. We decided to visit Texas Road House later night. Se usually order prime rib, always been a winner with us. Was there early, 4:30ish. Caesar salad was great, very good. Had mash potatoes with white gravy. Good. Prime rib was very, very tough. Not the usual at all. Did Texas Roadhouse change the recipe first cooking prime rib? Waitress thought maybe a mistake in cooking. Waitress was very nice, very helpful. Not too loud tonight, but seems we always get seated near a kitchen. Why?? Oh, and the tolls were great!! read more

The food was mid, nothing special about it. Cactus blossom was extremely greasy, the vegetables were raw, we didn't get our drinks until 20 minutes later. And my husband's steak wasn't cooked the way he ordered it, so we sent it back and they gave us it burnt. At that point we just paid and left. Didn't even finish everything. Waste of money. The waiter was nice but it just took way too long getting everything. And that sat us all the way in the back corner next to some family when there was many other open seats. I don't get why they have to bunch us up altogether like that. If I could give no stars I would. Never coming back again. read more
