I came into Smokey bones with a friend as we were really craving some barbecue. When we entered into the building we stood there for a few minutes not sure if it was seat yourself or wait to be seated. Eventually a guy from the kitchen came out and sat us. They had a rather large drink menu that we looked over but decided we weren't going to have a drink at the time. We spent some time looking over the menu until we were greeted. They had a lot of options and we couldn't decide. Jessica came over and was our server, she was friendly, attentive, and informative about the menu. As we ordered I wanted to make sure the brisket was still available since the menu said while supplies last and it was later in the evening on a Saturday night. Thankfully there was some left! So I got a brisket sandwich - it had provolone cheese, sautéed onions and peppers. It was delicious and the first brisket I've ever had like that. I just added on some bbq sauce to give it a bit more zing. I also upgraded to a loaded baked potato. My friend ordered the pulled pork and mashed potatoes and said it was great and was pleasantly surprised. I will say their variety of BBQ sauces are not the best I've ever had. One had vinegar which was way over powering. They were definitely interesting. I did enjoy which I'm assuming is their sweet one (it had green writing but was unable to read it due to the old bottle). I was pleased with my food and experience and will return. The food was very salty. The wings looks and tasted old. The reheated the wings ina microwave and if im going to pay an wxorbitant amount for sausage links and wings i expected it to be fresh of the grill and hot. Food was burnt and it was just really bad. I was not prepared all for the bad quality of the food. Its like french kissing with the dead sea. It's that bad. The service was very slow. There was hardly customers inside but it took a lot of time for my food to arrive. And boy i was really dissapointed. If i could turn back time. We ordered the Bonfire meal which was a plethora of meats ...sausage, ribs, wings, chicken, steak...all with some giant potato wedges served on a mini grill smack dab in the middle of the table. The food was cooked to perfection, the ribs nice and barky with a lot of sauce (usually we prefer dry rub). The wings were mild. The steak and chicken were tender. All that plus drinks were a little over $40 . Not bad for dinner. Jessica was our server and she was attentive and wonderful. First, everyone was wearing a mask that was working there. We had a great experience. Our waitress, Jessica, was wonderful. She kept our drink full and continually asked if we were good. The food was great. We had the buy 1/2 chicken get one free on Tuesday. Sweet potato fries. Regular fires, baked Mac-n-cheese(asked for extra baked/broil). There was no complaints to be had. Premium prices for at best hospital food. I could not recommend this for any food options.

Firstly, we ordered chips and queso. The chips were reheated stale, bottom of the bag overly chewy. Queso is white. This small bowl of cheese was sharp cheddar with possibly spicy chorizo in. My husband got ribs that had an overly salty rub on them. The slaw could have been better. I got fire roasted, or grilled shrimp. It was a few shrimp with tails still on, in a small "bowl", with diced tomatoes and green onions. There was a dollop of sour cream on this concoction. Dry & Salty. That's my description for there ribs. Babyback ribs were very salty. No amount of BBQ sauce could compensate. The St. Louis ribs were dry & required drowning in bbq sauce. A group of 4 friends and myself went to Smokey Bones on E. Colonial Dr. On Friday evening August 4th 2023. Our server was Joannette. This was our third time there and second with the same server. The food was excellent and we felt fairly priced. The service was awesome! Joannette was entertaining, super informative, knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. We know restaurant's are short on help these days but she never stopped caring for all her tables in a professional manner despite the crowds. This is a chain restaurant, but the food is consistently good and you generally get pretty good service. This particular location seems to get busy at strange times. Sometimes I'll come and it will be nearly empty and other times there is a wait. And not always the times you would expect. I live in the area so I stop in from time to time and usually will just sit at the bar. They have a good selection of beers on draft and plenty of TV's to watch. They are known for their BBQ which is pretty standard in my opinion. Not bad by any means, but nothing amazing. I do prefer this place over Sonny's BBQ, but possibly more for the environment (more like a sportsbar). They have a full menu including burgers, salads, desserts, etc. The prices seem a bit high in my opinion, which is why I'd only give them 3 stars. The bartenders are always friendly, and the menu is big enough to offer something for everyone. Smokey Bones is worth checking out for sure. read more

We've been going to this particular Smokey Bones for several years... we've noticed that recently the quality of food and restaurant cleanliness has been going down hill quickly... our last visit on Friday April 12th, 2019 was the absolute worse. We were seated toward the rear of the restaurant. Walking to our seats we noticed work ladders and drip buckets scattered about...with customers seated almost under the work going on over head. I assume "a leak". Our shoes were sticking to the floor and upon setting st our table, separated by the wooden partition from the other side we observed dead bugs and cockroaches along the ledge... there was a large mold growing just behind the condiments from what I assume was once food... the waitress was less than caring or interested. Our food was served lukewarm, fries were greasy. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, here you go: UPDATE - Main office replied by stating someone would contact us within 72 business hours. That was May 14, 2019...today is May 25, 2019 and NO ONE has contacted us! *****UPDATE #2: at the request of the General Manager (Andy) we revisited the restaurant on 6/14/19. What a difference! The place was spotless. The floors were extraordinarily clean, window-sills and tops of partitions were devoid of dead bugs and old dirt and dust, condiments were fresh and clean. GM Andy, is relatively new to this particular location and has done a fantastic job reinstating quality and cleanliness. The Best, and most important of all, the food was great. Collectively we enjoyed the cornbread appetizer, baby back ribs, smoked chicken wings, barbecued chicken, hamburger, fries, onion rings, baked potato, sweet potato waffle fries, and broccoli. Special mention goes out for the broccoli. It was fresh, perfectly prepared in a very fresh and tasty butter sauce. Our server was a wonderful, cheerful and attentive young woman named (MALLORY). She is truly a professional and we wish her best of luck in all her future plans and goals! Thanks to Andy for restoring our faith in one of our long time food haunts. Used to be obsessed with this Smokey Bones...It was the only place in my neighborhood open late they used to have really great bartenders who remembered me and what I always order. They also have a great rewards program. Now I keep falling for this trick of businesses putting their hours online and I get there and they tell me they are closing in 30 minutes or tonight it was 15 minutes so they do not want to serve me. When I got off work tonight I tried to call and place the order to go but I got sent to some weird voicemail system so I raced there in hopes of making it in time to place my order in person. The manager or host greeted me and was really kind and I got my hopes up when he said I could still order to go and when I went to the bar the bartender said no. I work in a restaurant at Epcot so I understand the pain of the last customer coming in late. So i only order food from the fryer that takes 6 mins and I tip well. But the is the second time I left feeling stupid the first time was after a concert when I actually paid an uber driver to take me and friends there after promising them they were open til 1 am. Please if you are not going to be open until 1 am do not put on your website and voicemail you are open to one and save us all the hassle. read more

My wife and I came here late one afternoon with another couple that we know. The couple that was with us, are regulars at this location. We are promptly greeted by our server, with a trainee in tow. She was extremely thorough, andthe trainee obviously had some prior experience as a server. I had a steak dish evening, which was cooked to perfection. My wife had a salad, of course what do you have at a barbecue establishment, a salad. All I can remember is that the company was excellent, the wait staff was fabulous, and the food was always very very good. I have truly forgotten how good the food is at Smokey Bones. After trick or treating on Halloween, the family was hungry, so my mom (the treater) chose this joint. We couldn't complain, so we convoyed over and got seated right away. The server was nice and patient with us, but so were we with all the waiting that we had to do. I'm not sure what the point of the stairs to the front section is besides increased chance of someone tripping, but we were walked up that section with all the kids in our party. Eventually I ordered a Three Olives Elvis with Pineapple juice and the taco combo. I chose brisket, pulled pork, & steak. My favorite was the brisket.l. The other two were ok. The pulled pork was a little bland and the steak was over powered by the bleu cheese. I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about any Smokey Bones. Worst experience here. Called ahead during lunch to see if there was a wait, which they said there wasn't. When we got there, they said 5-10 minutes to clear a table. Waited over 30 minutes and asked what the hold up was, they said the table they weren't clearing a table but instead waiting for a table to be done eating, which would be another 30 minutes. At this point, we have 4 adults and 3 hungry kids getting more annoyed by the minute. They said they'd clear a table in the back for us and sat us. After sitting for 15 minutes with no server, we again went up and asked what was going on. The hostess was apologetic but said "I don't know what to do", there was never any explanation. We frequently visit this SMOKEY BONES location (Colonial Town Center, Orlando). We have always been greeted in a friendly and timely manner. The food is/has always been good and the "BOGO's" and daily specials are an extra bonus. We are members of the BONES CLUB, and enjoy those benefits as well. If she is available, we request that JOANNETTE be our server. We appreciate that upon seeing us arrive she waves and smiles. JOANNETTE has always "welcomed" us back after saying hello and taking our drink /meal order. The burgers are normally our first choice and JOANNETTE seems to remember just how we like them. Great beer selections, great friendly staff. I go in often enough that they recognize me and even when I'm sitting at the bar the ladies serving will pop over and say hello. The loaded fries are great (I get no chipotle mayo) especially if you add chopped jalapeños!. Something to be said for the consistency of this place - the food is always good, sweet BBQ, steak and blue cheese salad is AMAZING.. this last time we sat at the bar, and even though I know I may have a heightened ear for music, something was going on with the speakers the whole time. They were popping and it was getting softer and the louder, very distracting and sounded terrible. Not a reflection on the service though, our bartender was adorable and super friendly! I don't usually write these but it's been a long day for me and this was really the cherry on top. I called in my order of a steak salad with extra steak and extra dressing. $17 dollars is a great price if I would've received anything remotely close to what I've gotten at other locations. I waited over an hour at the restaurant for a call in order and tried to be understanding since one of the cooks just walked out however when I got home and opened everything up they had forgotten the extra dressing and the extra steak that I was up charged for. I received five of the smallest chunks of steak I've ever seen and the salad wasn't even made properly and lacked all the toppings, might've well had just thrown lettuce in the container and sent me on my way. We were recently back in the area and headed over to this location for a bite. When we lived in the area this was one of our go-to places and we'd usually meet up with friends. They have a good mix of food to offer and there are various areas to sit in depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. There is a main dining area off to the right side when you walk in - here you'll find more families and people that are out for a meal and not really so much for the bar or the games. In the middle you'll find the main bar, which has smaller groups sitting at it and they are usually watching the TVs / games. On the far side there are high-top tables where people sit that are looking for a bar type scene, but not so much the games. The food ranges from wings and burgers to salads and even pastas. You can pretty much find something for anyone. I recommend the kettle chips for a starter. The burgers are good and the bag o' doughnuts is a good finisher.
