    Flight of beer

I came here with my parents last week and the overall experience was quite pleasant! We were greeted instantly upon entering the building and our nostrils were greeted by the glorious aroma of smoked meat. We ordered a flight of beer to split between the 3 of us, and the beer was cold and served quickly. I ordered a 9oz sirloin with a baked potato, and the waitress was able to snag some olive oil for me, despite it not being on the menu (if you've never had olive oil on your potato, you have to try it), and it was cooked exactly how I asked. The steak was a beautiful medium rare and was very tasty. The baked potato was a very standard baked potato, so I have no complaints there. The prices were not extreme, but it wasn't cheap either. My mother had the brisket, and it seemed pretty dry-- like it was held under a heat lamp for a long time. It tasted okay, but ultimately was disappointing. The atmosphere was solid as well. It was not too bright and not too dark and it wasn't too loud. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I may come back again sometime soon to try the bar food deals.

We walked into this location around 4:30 in the afternoon and it was pretty empty - we should have taken it as a sign. We had different types of items and nothing tasted rememberable or 'great'. The food was okay, at best. Now, my friend who accompanied me, truly believes the chips were store brought b/c they weren't even warm when they were brought out and they just tasted like regular bbq chips. The wings were okay but honestly, BBW has better - I tried their lemon pepper dry rub on half and the Korean on the other half. The burger was alright and so were the fries. The drinks were pretty strong, so I guess that made up for the food? Our serve Bria was about a month new and it was a little obvious. Also, they had different sauces on the table like Famous Dave's usually does but they were not very good sauces..

I don't recall ever being disappointed anytime I visited Smokey bones! I love the ribs and sides and was so happy to see that there's now an option for a 1/3 rack of ribs on the menu which is the perfect portion for me! I also love their creamy coleslaw!! My boyfriend loves their burgers and got the lava burger which was hot and delicious! I love Smokey bones big bar and look forward to being able to sit at it again.

First time here, we came for thanksgiving! The service was really laid back and distant, I'm guessing because of the holiday--no worries. The food definitely tasted good and had a good structure, just a few minor things we couldn't pass on: -The mac & cheese was a little bland--even with salt and pepper added. -Loaded nachos appetizer came out a bit lukewarm--they only had sour cream to offer on the side; there wasn't any guacamole or salsa. The server *did* forget to put in our order for a small side salad, but that wasn't a big deal since she brought it to our table under 5 minutes. The 2 local IPA beers were crisp, traditional, and refreshing. The non-alcoholic Shirley Temple was quite refreshing as it brought back memories of always ordering it as a child.

This is the first time I've ever tried Smokey Bones restaurant. My family and I came to celebrate my brother in law's birthday and I was impressed with the food and service. If you like barbecue then this is the place for you. I had the smokehouse Mac n cheese with pulled pork which was awesome! They have many different sauces to add to whatever dish you choose. The restaurant itself was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Downey's House provided the local spot I needed. An ice cold Yuengling on draft went down very well, and while I didn't find pierogis on the menu, I settled for a phenomenal bowl of spaghetti & meatballs. Local marinara & meatballs made with the same recipe of the old Main Hotel that was in Carnegie for nearly 100 years. That bowl of pasta was SCRUMPTIOUS and just what I was after. I even talked my lovely wife into doing up her salad 'Pittsburgh style', which means adorning the salad with fries. And yes, it's as good as it sounds. Thrown in a protein like grilled chicken and that is a banger of a meal. Great dining area with a square-shaped bar and TVs with sight-lines in any direction. The service is friendly and helpful, and prices are probably lower than at some chain-y eatery that just makes your food via assembly line. It's local and sensational!

Now for the food when trying a new restaurant that serves pizza and wings! You start with the basics pepperoni pizza Sicilian style and mild "buffalo " wings ( as a Buffalo WNY guy I hesitate to call them Buffalo wings) The pizza was doughy and the cheese pull was great ! The wings were sauced and tossed perfectly with a house made mild sauce that had a tang but not too much served with house made ranch that wasn't even needed because the sauce was perfect!
