I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smokey Bones, Woodbridge and I must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in the ambience was warm and inviting setting a perfect tone for the afternoon aside from leaving my wallet behind. Staff confirmed later it had been found. The food was nothing short of spectacular. The "smokey bones" were versing with flavor and beautifully presented. I must commend the outstanding service provided by the waitress, Brittany from the moment I arrived she acknowledged a brief wait time. The manager, Franklin demonstrated exceptional leadership and attention to detail in assisting me with the restaurant's app. He presented friendly and insured my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. It's rare to find a manager who is so hands-on and committed to excellence. Franklin is a true asset to Smokey Bones. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for delicious food and reasonable prices but also for the exceptional service by staff. I will definitely be returning soon. read more

Where do I begin? I'm not a baby back rib kinda gal, but these rib were GOOD. Seasoned well, falling off the bone with plenty of BBQ sauces to choose from. My fav was the hand-crafted cocktails and the smoked chicken. I ordered the bourbon peach tea and the Memphis smoked wings...DELISH! What I got is solid, but could use improvement. I used delivery to get me a chopped pork sandwich and boneless wings with sauce on the side. Fries were also included in this order. Let's start with the ugly; fries we're soggy and tasteless. One fry had too much salt and the rest nothing. Kinda weird. The good is the boneless wings. I'm not sure if they are homemade. I doubt it, but if they are please ease on the breading. They would have been a solid 5, if home made, with 50% less breading. Plus it will save the company money. The winner, and why this place got 4 stars is the BBQ pork sandwich. Pork was fresh and simple. I love it that way. Sauce was on the side and it was also good. The manager, Paul does not understand "Customer Service ". He has an unapologetic tone and oblivious of how to speak to a family who ordered food on a Friday evening, ready to retire for the evening and the Order is wrong. He came on the phone with accusatory tone that I was yelling before he even heard my voice. When I spoke, shut me down and I remained resolute to be heard. He needs to go through a Customer service training in order to avert such experience. My family just had a terrible Friday evening tradition today as a result of this experience. Not about the money or refund. Not at all like I told him. My gas in GLS 450 Benz is way more expensive than the cost of the missing sweet potato fries, which I clearly told him. So we've come to this place two other times after our first visit. Once we say was three weeks ago and we sat at the bar right around 630pm and the service was fast but my cup had food particles in it and the nachos we had ordered were stale, the sourcream was warm and like cottage cheese looking and the plate was not very hot. Last chance.... We visited last night and my boyfriend and I ordered the nachos and the morning Glory sandwich. The sandwich was really good I personally would not have the lettuce and tomato on it because it takes away from everything else but that's just me. And tried the nachos again. NOPE. NOPE.NOPE. we always spend the extra for the pulled pork and nope. This time we didn't even get much of it on the plate, the chips again were stale and once you pulled the top two or three nachos off it started to get cold. We actually just left the plate. I got takeout for my visit, the rib tips were simply terrific. Full of flavor and the meat was tender. This was my first time so I was impressed with the food especially when the takeout is good. The service person was attentive when I walked in and promptly greeted me. There was an issue with the dessert I ordered so they offered a replacement and to my surprise they comped me the dessert and took it off of my bill which was a great thing to do on the customer satisfaction side. read more

The best thing about this place was probably our server, the alcoholic beverage prices, and the TVs. The food wasn't terrible, but it could be better than basic. My fiancé ordered a burger cooked to medium. Unfortunately it came out close to rare and was incohesive (the meat was literally crumbling)- we've eaten meat cooked to medium rare, but this did not look delectable. The server apologized and took it back. We waited another 15-20 min for them to remake it - aren't orders like this supposed to be "on the fly"? ANYWAYS. It was cooked well done the 2nd time. Oh well.. At least it was cooked - but it's still not what he asked for. Good thing the meat was juicy. They served him a new batch fries that also came with the order, but they were WAY too salty the 2nd time around..so much that I was biting the grains of salt too - what's going on chef!? Basic array of sauces (mustard base, vinegar base, typical bbq sauce, and typical bbq sauce + spice - which to me... wasn't spicy), basic American flavors, basic customer service, and less than basic atmosphere. Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness - 4/5 This was a fun place to go. My wife and I sat at the bar. The bartender was very engaging. She recommended mixed drinks to us and they were very good. I always appreciate a bartender that tells you what's interesting and unique at a bar. The food was OK to good. I got the wings and, admittedly, I am not a big fan of wings with breading. Still, the sauce was tasty and the wings were big. My wife got tacos and had a lot of fun putting the various types of BBQ and hot sauces they offer. But still... pretty run of the mill tacos. The real star were the desserts. I haven't seen such an eclectic bunch of offerings anywhere else in this area. We ended up getting deep fried cookies coated in rice krispie treats and some chocolate sauce. They also had fresh baked donuts and a colossal cake on the menu. I almost always skip dessert, but this was too interesting to pass up. While the bartender was good, she did disappear for long stretches of time. It took us five minutes to even get a menu (and we observed the same wait time with other people who came to the bar). We noticed a lot of the servers just hanging out in the kitchen area. read more

I stopped there back in February and nope, same ordeal. I ordered some wings, as always and they were cooked so hard as if I asked for it that way. The service was ok.. the girl checked on us maybe twice while we were there. We waited about 10 mins on a not even busy afternoon before she came over to take our order. Visiting from outer space and the pictures and menu looked good. It was not. I ordered the hornitos glazed pork and I could not eat it because it was so over cooked, it was incredibly tough. I ordered a side Caesar and the lettuce was brown and red. Food was good but service was not. Stopped by here for lunch today and didn't have the best experience with our server. I'm not sure if they were short staffed but the hostess ended up being our waitress and wasn't attentive at all. Normally I wouldn't make a big deal about it but the place was pretty much empty, so I didn't understand the hold up. We had to flag her down to get refills and when we were done with our food she never came to give us the check or to even tell us how to pay. We ended up using the small table top device to pay but I think it's just rude for a server to take your order and never come back to the table to check on their guests. The staff definitely needs better training. As far as the food goes, I enjoyed my burger with a side of sausage. The burger wasn't out of this world but the smoked sausage was delicious. I ordered the special pulled pork sandwich but one get one free with a small side, I ordered beans. What a horrible presentation the sandwich cost was almost $17.00 buy one get one free. The sandwich was worth $5.00 if that not anywhere close to $17.00 I had it delivered and was very disappointed. The lid on the baked beans was off of both orders and spilled all over. I've been here at least 5 times now and I'm just so underwhelmed. The food is just okay. I'm never super pleased with anything I order. The mixed drinks are pretty good, but the service is HORRENDOUS! We always wait an extremely long time to get our food. I don't necessarily think it's the server's fault, either. I think they're just constantly understaffed in the kitchen. Every time we go, they always apologize about something and sometimes take items off of our check, which is nice, but it's either because of the wait or if there was a problem with the order. I dunno. I honestly wouldn't continue to come here if it wasn't one of my friend's favorite spots. read more

Last night a friend and I went to the Woodbridge VA location around 10 PM. About 20 hours later we are still talking about how awesome it was last night. We sat for a few minutes before the bartender approached us but when he saw us he came right over and from that point on the service was incredible. I had the margarita that was on the 10 PM special and it truly was one of the best I've ever had. My friend bought an ice tea drink and that was really good. From the appetizer menu, we ordered the cornbread skillet, mini nachos and pretzels. And the nachos were so good We got a second order. The leftovers came home with me and I had them all again today for my lunch. I asked the bartender what his work schedule was and we are going to go back Tuesday night because of the service was so good. I felt like with all, we drank and ate the total check amount was lower than I ever expected. I hope this place keeps it up! read more

It is SO easy to write bad reviews. But i wish it was SO much easier to write good ones. As the years have gone by, each visit at this Woodbridge Smokey Bones gets worse and worse. I arrived at 8:00pm on a Friday night to order takeout. Order is simple. 12 smokey wings with broccoli and cheese. THATS IT. I request KC bbq and garlic parmesan on the side. The guy who took my order was kind. I asked if I could sit in my car and I'll be back in 15 mins. He then offered to bring to space 4 if the food is ready earlier. 8:20 I come back. No order. I wait a few mins, then ask. He then came back and stated the order never went in. At this point, I ask for a refund because this is pretty unacceptable. Only to be told the refund would take 1-3 biz days. Not acceptable. I then requested a manager for a cash refund or some other resolution. It did not take 1-3 biz days for 26.89 to subtract from my account for 12 smokey wings that I have not received. Manager came and explained same thing. She stated she would refund. I checked my account and it was refunded. Left there hungry and irritated. LAST TIME. Went grocery shopping to cook my own food and skip the craziness that is 2024 restaurant scene. A woman name Joanne (manager maybe) explained there was some confusion about our server and immediately made up for the wait. She checked in frequently, was super friendly and attentive, and even surprised us with THE BEST cheesecake I have ever eaten....and I am born and raised in NYC!
