Customer service is great! Sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by the bartender. I went with The Duo. Apparently it didn't come with sliced brisket but rather pulled brisket. For the other meat, I opted for lemon pepper wings. I wanted ranch to go with wings but it never came out. For sides, I went with Mac & cheese, and brussel sprouts. Both of sides were great. The brisket was good. The wings were dry, lacked seasonings. The beverage of choice was Makers Mark and coke. It's a cool spot to was the NCAA Men's National Championship game. Great conversation with the guys at the bar and also the bartender.

I love that this place is so close to home. Everything I've gotten here has been fantastic. Service is always good, average noise inside, and delicious food. The Mac and pulled pork are my favorite. The hony lime Sriracha wings were**chefs kiss

I've finally found my go-to bone-in wings place! Chalkboard does them right with a variety of wet and dry flavors ranging from mild and sweet to hot and spicy. They've got a little bit of everything for everyone. Located in a small shopping center, Chalkboard doesn't have a large amount of seating which helps with the local, cozy feel. The service is always great, and the servers are friendly, helpful, and genuinely want to get to know you. It's a local hangout spot to watch sports throughout the year or to just chill and enjoy some good food. Besides the wings, I've got to shout out the fried artichokes. I get these every time, and they make a great leftover when reheated in an air fryer.

I wish I could give this place a 10-star rating!!! I just came here on Tuesday since I heard they were giving out free dinners to Furloughed Government employees. First of all, THANK YOU!!! You provide a full free meal every Tuesday (during the shutdown) from 4pm - 8 pm and it is truly appreciated! Shout out to CJ the owner that is super friendly and loves to give back to the community. Also, a big shout out to Adian...Adian was also super friendly, nice and accommodating. I ordered the Smashed Burger with fries and a side of ranch. So good!!! Love the burger's flavor and the seasoned fires. Their ranch was soooo good and is made in house. I love establishments that are all about customer service but also have delicious food too! They go above and beyond and it shows! They opened 4 years ago; there is plenty of free surface parking around the establishment. Please support this business, you will not be disappointed! I am going to continue to be a customer here!

Lunch. Meats were dry; sides were good.

My search for Texas quality BBQ continues. We tried Chalkboard Wings and BBQ for Halloween lunch. It's in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Interesting and unique decor. It was a slow day with just a couple other people eating in. Service was great. He was very friendly and checked on us after food came out, refilled drinks. Unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. The ribs were dry and covered in heavy sauce to hide it. I believe they were overcooked or perhaps from a prior days cook. The brisket was also dry as you can see in the photo. Maybe they had an off day but on our visit the bbq was not good. The sides were very good. Greens were delicious. Mac and cheese were very cheesy and thick.

Local wings & bbq operated in Alexandria off of Route 1. They have a nice variety of hot sauces as well as some of the best wings, nachos and nuggies in the area! It's not a huge location, but it's definitely worth a try! Service is always great when we stop in!

New burger spot! They got me with their onion rings, crispy, flavorful, and you can actually see and taste the onions. The chicken nuggets were juicy, and the burger was delicious, especially with the fresh lettuce and tomato. The fries would definitely be better fresh, so next time we'll dine in instead of ordering delivery. Overall, a tasty and satisfying meal!

After settling into the Fort Belvoir area, my wife and I decided to venture out and see what was fairly local. Yelp had chalkboard wings rated fairly high so we decided to give them a try. We're very happy that we did! We open with adult beverages and an appetizer of cheese curds. The cheese curds were delicious on our beverages were as well! For our dinner, I decided on their buffalo chicken salad while my wife tried their side Caesar salad with Texas toast. Both salads were extremely tasty and fairly large! Our server was nothing but helpful guiding us to the menu and their specials. Overall, a fairly eclectic feel especially with the paintings. Not a bad spot! Give them a try!

I'm originally from Buffalo and one of the greatest things about that city is the food. In fact, we…read moreoften joke that the thing that keeps people in Buffalo is the food and the sports. Buffalo pizza is a unique thing and accompanied by wings, some blue cheese and celery it elevates it to an equivalent of the British Sunday roast. It's something I would have with my family after a Bills or Sabres game on a Sunday and the thing is, there's hundreds of good pizza parlors in Buffalo because they all know how to make good pizza and good wings. Being a Buffalo ex-pat, Buffalo pizza is one of the things I miss most about Buffalo and I would do a lot of things to have some good, authentic, Buffalo style pizza. So when I came to Alexandria on business, on a whim I just did a Yelp search for Buffalo pizza to see if there was anything in the greater area and I found Baddpizza. Talking with the gentleman who cooked my pizza and wings, I learned that the owner came from years of working at a famous parlor in Buffalo called Bocce club. The smell and even the style of this restaurant was very pizza parlor to me. It brought back memories of walking up to a window or to an inside counter, ordering and heading back home to spend time with good food, good company and hopefully a good result for the Bills or Sabres! I was pleased to see Buffalo was represented well, with a big "716" decal, a standing buffalo with the city skyline on it and even, a sharp eye would spot a box of Josh's Jaqs cereal, a long running tradition in Buffalo to have a hometown athlete on a box of cereal. I mean truly, the only thing that would have elevated the space was a TV playing highlights of Rick Jeanneret calls or maybe a box of Flutie Flakes to go alongside of JA17's cereal. The food came out piping hot. There were plenty of peppers to take with you to add if you like that but the pizza came out exactly as I'd remember Buffalo pizza. The cheese is incredible, the pepperoni char absolutely spectacular, the sauce a slightly sweet tomato sauce that just reminded me of home. Seeing a lot of the reviews on here I felt a lot of them were harsh. Certainly, everyone's entitled to their opinion, but for Buffalonians, pizza and wings is a staple and they hit the nail on the head with an authentic experience 388 miles from home in Alexandria. I don't expect everyone to have the same reverence to Buffalo style pizza as I do, or we do, but to say it was flavorless is ridiculous. While I'm sure some of their specialty pizza's could leave more to be desired, if you stick with the classics, especially with charred pepperoni which is my absolute favorite topping, you will not have a bad time there. One tip on Yelp that I didn't listen to, but should have was that the sauce on the wings is not as spicy as you might think. I ordered medium which tends to be my go to and I felt it was more of a mild. If you like it a bit hotter, I'd say get them a stage hotter than you normally would. In fact if you get a double order of wings, you can pick two flavors, so go with your normal and then go at least a stage up. Also, important to note that as far as pizza parlor wings go, when you take them home they will not be as good and crispy. If you're expecting fresh crisp wings and have a drive or bus ride to go eat them, you will have to understand that wings won't keep. There's also not a lot of room to eat. And to be fair, I wasn't sure if I was allowed to eat there, but the gentleman cooking the pizza said it was no problem. But at least at this location, this might be a bring home, picnic or come with one or two because the restaurant doesn't seat many. I will also say that I took public transportation all the way from Old Town Alexandria to the restaurant and it was easy. It took a little more time than if I had a car, but it is doable to come via train and bus. And here's the thing, whether it's Chicago, New York, Detroit or Buffalo, clearly not every style is going to be your favorite. But I think if you want to experience something maybe new to you, or for those Buffalonians calling DC and the suburbs home or people like me on business and just missing a taste of home, you should go to one of Baddpizza's locations and get a taste of home. And to top this off, head next door to Wegmans to complete your Buffalo experience. Grab a couple other Buffalo staples like Weber's Mustard, Salens hot dogs, Bison chip dip (the best French onion dip you can get) and so much more. People will laugh at me for going here instead of heading to the Smithsonian or any one of the famous landmarks or museums DC has to offer. But when you have a chance to taste home and remind yourself of some of the great times you have with great people, or if you're new to Buffalo style pizza and want to create new memories with the people and sports teams you love, then give Badpizza a try. I'm so glad I did because my night was nourished by great food and great memories. Thanks Baddpizza!

Outside sitting, full large bar, sports on several TVs above the center of the bar, and a lot of servers milling around here. Great lighting, not loud but not quiet either, just chill. We were starved so our eyes ate. Brunch was still being served till 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays so I grabbed the French Toast and the Steak and Eggs. My friend had allergies with gluten so she went with a salmon and some super salad dish. She was happy as all the dishes had markers for gluten free, food free, soul free, etc. Very helpful for all allergy infused humans. Great waitress btw. Fantastic service. Food came after some time, we requested for everything to come out on time. Steak and egg was okay but I'd go with the prime rib next time. The steak came out sliced with 2 poached eggs on top. The hash on the side was on point. Salmon okay too. Salad was okay but we should have added a protein on top. A little dry on dressing maybe but we could have requested more so that's on us. On the other hand, the French toast had me scratching my head. It was cubed challah bread but eggs was 0, zero, nada eggs on it. I thought I was eating croutons which would have gone great with the super salad dish thinking about it now. The French toast really bunched up my undies, French toast is my favorite breakfast thing you see. They explained it was prepped that way for allergy sake due to the egg. Well, I'm not allergic and never said I was, but my friend was but she wasn't eating my dish so why make it in this fashion. Overall, this experience was just okay. Nice environment and service but I realized how lucky I am not to be allergic cause if I have to eat French toast like this forever, I'm not sure what to do. Definitely not up to eating croutons with syrup.

Meanwhile, tables that came in after us were getting their drinks without any issue. The worst part?
