Hands down the best barbecue in Tucson. Even the non-bbq menu options like the tacos and the burgers are amazing. The staff is really friendly and seem like they love working and being there, especially in the evening shift. Honestly the only downside I have to say about this place is that it's too small, there's barely any walking space around the ordering counter if you're waiting for takeout or looking at their amazing menu. We happened to be in that neighborhood around lunch time so thought we'd give them a try. We ordered the day's special of 1/4th lb burnt ends and 1/4th lb rib tips. It came with one side so we ordered a second side a la cart and split the meal. It was plenty of food for two but I know hearty eaters would want the whole thing. The rib tips were bony ends but tender and tasty beef. The burnt ends (pork) had great flavor, pull-apart tenderness and good sauce. We tried collard greens (sharp vinegar and pork flavored) and corn bread. The corn bread was a little on the dry side but with a good corn flavor and thankfully not sweet. The Texas sweet tea is too sweet and and there is no unsweetened tea available to cut the level of sweetness. We will definitely go back and try more dishes! read more

Large price for a meager amount of food. --NEVER serve room-temperature slaw ! --MUST be chilled especially with mayo !! unchilled = just gross. Hands down the best barbecue brisket sandwich and chicken wings. This place used to be Shari's Drive-In on First Avenue south of Glenn. The new owners transformed it. It was renovated very nicely; the restrooms are super clean; so is the interior and exterior patio. The food is fresh, the service is good, very enjoyable. Oh, and they make their own potato salad. Being from Kansas, we had to try it! While we love Tucson, it is a Desert where quality BBQ is concerned. We pretty much fell in love immediately. From the moment we walked in, the gals running the register were fun, friendly, and excited about their product. We had fun just ordering! While waiting for our "Sampler" platter, we chatted with the owner, who was sincerely interested in feedback. I don't know what the place looked like before they moved in, but it was pristine! Everything looked new, fresh, clean, and you could tell that they put real love into the place. Immediately felt at home. But the real test is the food. And it did not disappoint! One sampler platter fed the both of us-and neither one of us are lightweights. And the food was fantastic! Pulled BBQ pork (went incredibly well with their Mac and cheese), tri-tip, Smoked turkey (yum!), ribs, and seriously the best briscuit we've ever had. And the BBQ sauce was on pointe. Sweet and spicy, without being too sweet or too spicy. The Goldilocks of a mix. Even the sides were yummy. While I'm not a big greens fan, they were good, and we finished them off.
