Some great quality BBQ and nice deals on on UberEats. They have most of the typical BBQ place/truck items, like ribs, pork, chicken, and sides. I tried their pulled pork (a pound), coleslaw, mac n cheese, and cornbread pudding. The pulled pork pound meal came with no sides, but it came from the 'by the pound' section, so I expected that. The meat itself was very good, and the texture was perfect. Not too fatty at all. The sauce that came with it was delicious and the portion was great. The meat was tender and extremely juicy. The cornbread pudding was quite good, and a nice balance between savory and sweetness. It wasn't exactly 'pudding' or dessert, but it was great. Little pieces of whole corn kernels and maybe some peppers in there as well. Moist texture. The Mac n cheese was just okay. It was on the oilier side and not that cheesy, but still good. All the sides come in decent portions for the price. The coleslaw was also relatively standard but I enjoyed it. It was not super creamy and still refreshing. It tasted like it was made from fresh ingredients and complimented the meat well. All in all, this place is pretty great. It's up there as one of the better BBQ places in the area. Our first visit here and it was fantastic. We were seated right away because we went early. There were a lot of people there which made us happy. Our server, Annalise, was very kind and attentive. All of the food was delicious. We had the brisket quesadillas, Brussels sprouts, and dip duo as starters. The dip duo was complimentary from the chef. Stopped in for dinner last night. First visit. I was impressed. Got the brisket and ribs plate with 2 sides. Brisket was on point and I lived in Austin, TX for 10 years. I'm a bit of a brisket snob. I was not disappointed. Ribs were also good. Sauce on the ribs was good. Had the pinto beans and green beans for the sides. Those were also good but needed a kick so I put a little hot sauce on them. Very yummy. I also received my food in about 5 minutes. It was hot. Sat at the bar. Bartender was nice and checked back often even though they were pretty busy. A great new BBQ place in the area. I believe they've been known as a food truck, but now they have an actual location for you to grab your favorites. Keep in mind there's only outdoor seating, so it was a bit disappointing we had to take our food to go due to the cold. It will be a great location once summer comes, as you can sit in the outdoor seats in Southside Works. We ordered the Smoked Meat Platter to share and really enjoyed it! It comes with plenty of food including, pulled pork, brisket, 4 ribs, 2 slices of turkey and pickles and onions. White bread was also supposed to come with it for the pulled pork, but ours wasn't included so we just ate it with a fork. All the meat was very tender and their BBQ sauce on the sauce was tasty. I needed to drink every bite. The flavors were excellent but couldn't even chew the chop. Waiting time was terrible for only 4 people in dining room. The flavor was fatty and the texture was like rubber. You've heard of "fall off the bone ribs"? These weren't those, that meat wasn't letting go of them bones. Was really hoping this place would be great, but had really poor service for a take out order. I called at 9 am for a 4:15 pm pickup. It took 45 min to get it ready. Was waited on by 3 different people before getting it. Once I got home, discovered half of the order was wrong. Got french fries instead of a baked potato with butter & sour cream, coleslaw was totally missing, and the ribs were full of fat making them inedible. Food was cold. The brisket quesadilla was good with good flavor, but would have been better if it was warm. I set them a message on FB messenger, only to get a standard response thanking me for my comment. Overall very disappointed. I will start off by saying that the service was great and everyone was very nice. I got the smoked meats platter as a spur-of-the-moment lunch, and I honestly wish I hadn't. The brisket was very dry and tasted like it had been boiled. There was no smoke or cattiness to it at all. Was also very tough and unappetizing. The ribs were okay. Nothing to write home about, and again I feel like they had no smoke to them. Definitely no bark on them either. I'm torn, being a Food truck junkie I hesitate to write subpar reviews about a first try with a truck. With that being said I was excited about getting to try the new trucks attending The Greater Pittsburgh Food truck Festival at the Meadows casino this past weekend. This brings me to trying Smokin Ghosts BBQ this weekend at a large event. Like most food trucks they offered a nice limited menu with the normal BBQ lineup. One dish caught my eye, Burnt Ends Pork Belly Tacos. I was caught hook line and sinker, placed my order at the side window and got in line at the rear of the truck with the rest of the customers waiting. I eventually started to feel the vocal vibe of those that were waiting for some time to get their BBQ. Sadly a few customers were making comments about the time they spent waiting, and I realized that the SG BBQ needed to streamline their process. Seriously, two other bbq food trucks in attendance had smoker stacks billowing smoke and their lines were moving. Not SG BBQ, their food was cooked in warmers, inside the truck, 3-4 people working, and food wasn't coming out efficiently. Now onto the tacos, I must say that BBQ was not anywhere on my tastebuds. Surprisingly the fat rendered properly on the pork belly which was nice. But these were listed as pork belly burnt ends. To make a suggestion, smoke your pork belly as you do now. Then cut your pieces and allow them to cool, next fry them in a hot fryer and crisp them up, then toss them in your BBQ rub for a nice kick of flavor. Instead I got two flour tortillas with three decently sized cut pieces of pork belly. They were dressed with a white sauce and had three thin slivers of ginger. This while it may work for some it was a trifecta that failed for me. Basically Pork belly meets Mexican with an Asian twist, with no BBQ taste whatsoever. Just so everyone who reads this understands me a little better, after the first taco I decided to try the pork belly separately. Again, cooked well with the fat rendered properly, but I couldn't taste that smoke that I was craving so badly. I so much want to like this new restaurant in Elizabeth Twp, just because it is close and there are not many choices in the area. I had the pork chop dinner with french fries and coleslaw. The chop was a nice piece of meat, but it was served cold, which made it tough and difficult to cut. The fries appeared to be perfection, but they were also stone cold. The best part of the meal was the coleslaw, which was creamy and not the typical commercial recipe. The BBQ Sauces were provided in squeeze bottles, so naturally they are also served cold. I tried the Hot BBQ Sauce which is very much like Sweet Baby Ray. The Carolina Mustard Sauce is more or less, Honey Mustard Salad Dressing. This place sure likes to cook with sugar. The Mon Valley type of sauce (not sweet) was not available which, in my opinion, is the downfall. When I want Mexican food, I prefer authentic Mexican restaurants, so I doubt if I would order the Tex-Mex offerings. The place has been painted and updated so it looks pleasant. But, the loud old style, unrecognizable, country music made for a frenzied atmosphere. I might have had another beer, if the environment was relaxing. If you are NOT looking for a dedicated BBQ place.... if you like sugar and country music, it might be right for you.
