    Sad chicken sandwich:(
    Magen H.

I was sure this place was going to be amazing based off the reviews. Sadly it was super underwhelming. I got the chicken sandwich, and the chicken was so dry and old I had to drench it in bbq sauce to try and eat it without choking . I ended up having to just take the bread off and try and eat it that way because it kept falling off the bun. Nothing comes on it. It's just plain unseasoned chicken and a bun. It was as if they took it out of the fridge and put it in the microwave. I got Brunswick stew that tasted like nothing but canned peas. And the turnips had to of been out of a can. Maybe their nack is pork, but they definitely missed it on the chicken and turnips and stew. I've also never been to a bbq place in the south that doesn't have pickles for sandwiches. All they had was sour Jared pickle spears. The ladies working also acted as if they were absolutely miserable being there.

This is what $20 worth of brisket looks like at Smoking Pig. If you are thinking of going there you should probably pass that up and go somewhere else.

This was quite a pleasant surprise. Driving from FL to SC we pulled off 95 and found this little jewel. You order at the counter and your food is brought out. The interior is quaint and has a rustic feel. The seats are picnic tables. The meats were very well prepared and moist. All of the sides were excellent and prices were very reasonable for the large portions you're given. Definitely will stop again if we are in the area.

I stopped by to pick up a BBQ sandwich for a late lunch. Service was quick and I found myself on my way in no time. I thoroughly enjoyed my smokey, pulled pork sandwich and was happy that it was served sauceless and not dripping/drowning in sauce. You have four sauces to choose from to accompany your BBQ: mild, sweet, hot, spicy vinegar. This is a casual spot, just off I-95, where in addition to sandwiches they have smoked chicken, brisket, ribs, plenty of side options, and a kids menu. Grad it and go or eat inside.

The food was cold and I was charged $29 for the amount of brisket I could have gotten on a a sandwich. What's rip off, terrible service and keep out of your not YT!

Sauces - the mild sauce is a mustard base and the hot is a peppery mild

No frills, worthwhile non-chain pit stop! We were in and out in 25 minutes which is great when you want to eat well on a road trip. The brisket lives up to the hype with beautifully rendered flavorful fat and the house mild barbecue sauce has a perfect mustard vinegar base. All the sides are home made and they do nothing fried which is refreshing. I got the turnip greens which were delightful with the spicy vinegar sauce and the banana pudding (which the hostess shared that you can sub for a side btw!). #worthit

Not to be confused the Smokin Pig in Clemson (technically Pendleton), THIS Smokin Pig place is the best BBQ I've had in the state of Georgia. The brisket is so damn good. I'm glad I had the sense to get the brisket plate and add BBQ. Fell off tThe sides I picked were baked beans (which I always have to check out) and a baked potato (more of a panic decision). The pulled pork was also good. Buddy had mac and cheese which was good - more of a creamy m&c than a baked variation. Service was good- you order at the counter. Food came out quick. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a BBQ joint.

convenient location off 95. Stopped for a nice evening out with my family. First appearance, the restaurant was clean, menu in front, and the cashier was helpful. We ordered ribs and brisket which were both delicious. HOWEVER.. there seemed to be a lot of loud commotion between staff while we were there. An older employee was loudly berating and was very clearly upset, all in front of customers, which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. It really took away from the experience. Management seriously needs to improve in this behavior because it shouldn't be happening where guests can see and hear it. Ultimately, after a long day of driving and wanting peace and dinner with family, this was the last thing I wanted to happen. Please improve staff!

Sliced Beef Brisket with Baked Beans, Turnip Greens and Texas Toast

Hubby and I along with his brother and our sister-in-law stopped in for lunch while on the drive from Jacksonville to Savannah. BBQ sounded good to all of us so we headed over to the Smokin' Pig. I ordered the brisket plate with baked beans, turnip greens and Texas toast. Hubby ordered a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans. The food came out quickly and was tasty! I enjoyed my brisket which was not overly fatty or dry. The baked beans were delicious, good amount of sweetness. The turnip greens were flavorful and cooked very well. I also really liked their sauces especially the vinegar and sweet options. Overall, great little spot for some good BBQ!

The parking lot is a little rough and the building might be a bit dated but this is old school Georgia Bar-B-Q at its best. The pulled pork and chopped chicken were smoked perfect. The Bar-B-Q beans were a tad thick but really tasty. The cole slaw was excellent. The potato salad needed more mayo but was still good. We only bought one banana pudding because I've never been a fan but then we ended up fighting over it. It was incredibly good. It has to be grandma's recipe. The sweet tea was trailer park sweet. We told them we needed to go boxes they gave us so much food. They said they didn't want anyone to go home hungry. The price was fantastic.

Very solid BBQ joint. I had the smoked chicken/ beef brisket combo. Both were cooked perfectly. Good service was a bonus.
