That waffle with the strawberry butter was the star of her plate! It was so good! I was not very hungry so I got a scrambled egg, bacon, hash browns with toast. My plate was not the best. Everything was cold so it probably had to wait for their food to get cooked. That's ok, I just ate off of their plates. Overall this was pretty decent. My brother, Grandson, and I decided to go out for breakfast. I yelped this location because I did not want to drive far so I did not ask for an alternative. Walking in looked a bit confusing because I was waiting to be seat, but they told me to pick a spot in the front. This is a really huge place, but I saw everyone dressed casually but I could imagine people in business attire conducting business meetings over a bite to eat. This restaurant does provide an atmosphere for such occasions. Haley was our waitress; she was so adorably kind and patient offering time and space as we scanned the menu for something to eat. It took a while, but we finally saw something that piqued out interest. I got the catfish grits, eggs, and whole wheat toast. The presentation of the cheese grits was like I would prepare them at home. The grits were prepared well and did not have lumps in them. The catfish was a bit salty for my taste and Haily did try to accommodate me by getting more fish with less salt, but the batter is premade. My brother was not impressed with his chicken tenders. he described as they were soaking in grease, waiting for someone to order them but the fries were good. My grandson had the waffle platter, and his only dislike were cold eggs but everything else was alright. They do give you a very healthy ration of food, I was very impressed with that. I gave 4 stars because Haley was true and authentic. She is a customer-oriented person. She tries to please her customers so that they would have the best experience for their visit. Hubby and I were visiting Hilton Head and decided to drive over to one of our favorite places, Savannah for a few hours. Loc's was a spot where we went to when we were in Savannah with our friends. They recommended this place for their chicken and waffles. Note, if you want that full chicken and waffles, it'll take 20-30 minutes as they say that they make it fresh. I didn't want to wait that long so I opted for the smaller portion/size. It's an interesting twist, just not for me. The tenders were dry, and I would definitely say that you would need syrup. Inside, there's plenty of seating and it was pretty busy. Lots of customers and everyone was friendly. I could tell the staff was just as they were kind of going through the paces. It reminded me a bit like a diner/cafeteria? I think that's because of the chairs and tables, but it could also be the layout of the whole restaurant. Overall, Loc's isn't a bad spot. If you want to try this place out it is fine worth it but 1 thing to know is that it gets busy quickly so get there early. They also have carry out. Something new they have is that if you pay with a card your bill will be a few dollars more versus paying cash. There is no management or leadership in getting people seated. My name was erased and when she wrote it back changed my name. Would have never been called if I wasn't watching. Three 2 tops needed bussed and I could have sat down but they were focused on seating large parties and those of us that where a party of 1 or 2 just had to wait. She told many that came in not to eat here to go somewhere else. She told everyone it would be an hour to seat them. The man and lady working the counter/registers where just laying on each other not lifting a finger to help the hostess or those of us waiting. The hostess manager team desperately needs leadership and team work training. If you can sit 1 person at a 2 too why make them wait for the party of 14 to be seated first.
