Going for a walk on the trail? You want BBQ? Smokin with Chris? Oh yeah. So far I've came here two times and my obsession with brisket sandwiches is becoming a problem as it's like the only thing I order from BBQ places. My dose of brisket in a sandwich here ag Smokin with Chris is satisfying but nothing to get too excited for. If my addiction to brisket sandwiches was forcing me to get one within the hour, a good one, Smokin with Chris is a solid option. A reliable option. I'm not too afraid of being dissatisfied based on hear say and 1st person experiences. The BBQ Brisket Sandwich I get here is not sliced, it's pulled. The meat itself is well seasoned, does not exceed but it meets the standard of not being dry and has a nice dressing of BBQ sauce on it. Not messy at all despite being pulled brisket. Clean and quality sandwich. The fries on the other hand are just OK. Okay well the food is great, getting that out of the way. But usually BBQ sandwiches from smokehouses get me bursting out of my seat and shedding tears of joy. I'm pretty calm eating this sandwich. Food is good, but nothing to go crazy for. On a much brighter note, I love the location. It really brings attraction, business and liveliness to this section of the trail. The trail itself is like a roller-coaster, there's spots where it's always dead and you feel like you're in the middle of no where and there's spots where the block is hot with business, people and food. Smokin with Chris is one of those spots worth hanging out by, eating at and usually busy on a normal non-covid 19 day. They have consistently good food and they're in the middle of a nice walking trail. Service is very friendly too! Food is always ready reasonably quick. Solid smokehouse we have here. We stopped in after grabbing some drinks at the nearby Game Craft barcade. The place was lively with and everyone at the bar was friendly and accommodating, We were seated quickly and we were hopeful that the BBQ would be good, as New England often isn't the place to go for BBQ. Luckily we could smell the smoke and there were piles of wood stacked outside, a great sign the food would be good. We ordered the steak and taters for an appetizer, which was amazing with crunchy deep fried balls of mashed potatoes with a grilled slice of medium cooked beef, juicy and perfect. Then came the main course with all of us sharing the cubes of brisket and pork belly burnt ends, and rib tips. The meat was so tender and juicy, not dry or tough at all with perfect seasoning and smoky flavor letting the meat shine. Fantastic sides too, we tried the baked beans, Mac and cheese, and fries. The bbq sauce was complex and sweet, with hints of orange. We will be back soon! read more

First time here and I'm glad I tried it! The staff was very friendly. Food wise, everything was pretty good! My hubby said his ribs, onion rings and coleslaw he would rate a 9/10. He didn't care much for the coleslaw, wasn't anything special and wasn't a fan of the bbq sauce. I had some sort of "parfait" bbq. The service was excellent. I had the 3 meat platter with mac & cheese and cucumber salad. The pulled pork, ribs, and brisket were all delicious. I was pleased with the level of smokiness. The mac & cheese wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again...reminded me of something manufactured. My boyfriend had the burnt ends duo, with coleslaw and collard greens. I tried his collards and they were good...had a tiny bit of spice to them. Consistency is the hallmark of a great restaurant. I've eaten at SWC dozens upon dozens of times and always leave feeling the same way; like I had exactly the experience I was expecting, and that it was great. The drinks are generous, the tap list broad, and the food! Oh my the food! Over the years things have been added to the menu but I tend to get the same couple items. Besides being threatened by another patron and our group of 3 being told after we paid our bill we caused 2 other groups to leave due to our conversation we were having, I unfortunately like the food and drinks as I've been a patron for years but that ended tonight after the poor handling of the fiasco that occurred. If someone didn't like our convo a simple hey tone it down a bit would have gone a long way. We were sat next to a table with 4 people who were loud and probably would have been better if we were seated on the other side of the room which was empty. I live right around the corner from this place so it's all I smell hall the time, how can I not love it! After COVID, when they opened their patio, this has prob been the one restaurant who took sanitation and health measures the best in my opinion! Everything you touch or use is throw away and it's basically contactless everything. It was a great experience. I've been to a few restaurants after this, that weren't as good with all this, so thank you Smokin with Chris! I had the bbq chicken sandwich with collard greens from the lunch menu and the chicken was really great. The ciabatta roll was a perfect fit for this sandwich and the collards were perfect, I wish I had more! The chicken had onions, peppers, smoked Gouda, pickles, and bbq-heaven. All for $9. I also had a refreshing corona to drink. The picnic tables in the back are nice and shaded, I highly recommend stopping for a bite to eat for lunch, great, cheap spot! read more

My husband and I went to Smokin' With Chris, last night for dinner for his birthday. First time there and we will be back! The food was great. We started with the pork belly burnt ends. OMG they were delicious!! We could have made it our meal! Terrific! For our main entree, I had a pulled pork sandwich with sides of Mac and cheese and collard greens. The pulled pork was delicious! My husband had the meat platter with ribs, brisket and pulled pork. He said it was great. We went home with leftovers, so much food! The drinks were great as well. My pistachio martini was luscious! Really good bbq! As several reviewers have noted, once you step out of your car and smell the smoky goodness emanating from the back bbq area, you know you are in for a treat. You can sit indoors - in a moderate sized dining area with tables covered in brown paper- or you can sit outdoors at tables with umbrellas. The food is good. The shredded rib sandwich was excellent- spare rib meat on a ciabatta roll with pickles and red onion and a Mayo/bbq based sauce. Very tasty. The coleslaw was also excellent. The Mac in cheese was just okay- a bit too watery for my taste and not cheesy enough. But all in all, one of the better bbq places I've been at in a long time. read more

However, I do love a good chili--and considering my very frequent visits to this establishment over many years--their chili has been consistently most unique and delicious. At first I was going to ding Chris' a star for two reasons. First, the wings are not smoked, they're regular fried chicken wings. Second, they we're out of burnt ends at 4:45 on a Saturday. I always like to start my review with " I have high expectations for BBQ restaurants because I am from Texas." I always judge a restaurant by their ability to cook a brisket, because it is not an easy task. (Usually dry or tasteless...not smoky!!) The service was great! They were kind and attentive. We first ordered some drinks which were very tasty. Then, we ordered the brisket queso and chips which was very good. However, they give you entirely too many chips for 1 cup of cheese. I also had to cut the brisket up so that you wouldn't eat it all in one bite. Then, we ordered the meat sampler with beef brisket, pork ribs, and smoked chicken. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. The smoked chicken and the pork ribs deserved 4 star, but the brisket gets only 3 stars. The brisket was shredded and not sliced which was weird. Is my experience the only reason to shred any kind of meat, is to hide the bland taste with spices which is what they did. Even though we would give it 3.5 stars, would would come back for BBQ, just not the brisket. read more

Bein a self-described BBQ snob, I want to give these guys an unbiased review so here goes: Ribs: Meat was fall of the bone and the rack had a LOT of meat on it. Thumbs up! Thought they fell a little short on the rub and sauce. Got the mustard bbq style and thought the sauce was lacking. Still, enjoyed the ribs. Collard Grens: Exceptional. Not bitter, perfectly cooked with a slight tang to them. Really enjoyed the greens. Cole Slaw: Average but do not consider this a negative. Good slaw. Cheeseburger (wifey): Amazing (her words). Only complaint was we asked for medium and was well done but did not dissapoint. Sweet Potato's (wifey): ok but tasted mostly like orange juice, didnt get much of the other components. Baked beans (wifey): Amazing! Some of the best she has had. I had a spoonful and they were delicious. House Sauce: we were split on this, I liked the sauce, she was not a fan. Molasses based. Wifey thought it had weird aftertaste, i did not. Again, I am a bbq snob, however, I thought Smokin Chris's was good. Need to come back to take a deep dive into the menu.
