I moved to Washington about a month ago from Chicago. I've been looking for a decent pizza place ever since. This is the 5th place I've tried. I don't know what it is but so far Washington pizza is just straight up terrible no matter where I go. This place is no exception. The cheese is basically just burnt, orange, coagulated grease. I ordered it with garlic and didn't even notice the garlic. The crust is chewy and just...well...bad. I've noticed that chewy crust seems to be a thing out here. I don't get it. Do people like bubble gum pizza? I also got an order of the cheesy bread. Again, not good. I would have given this place a 1 star except for the fact that the Jalepeno Poppers were surprisingly decent. Pizza is one of my favorite foods but maybe I'll just have to give up on it out here. The pizza has come back to very good quality since the changeover. The menu is better and the dining room is great. But is always confusing when you walk in. There are people standing around confused. The order process is unclear and the greeter is unusually quiet and inexperienced. This place is THE BEST. I happened upon it while in Renton recently to watch a performance of the Seattle Cascades Drum Corps, and I am SO glad I gave it a try. I was blown away by the friendliness of the employees, as well as the tastiness of the food. I came here with my toddler, who, as you can imagine, is NOT a pleasant dining partner. But the employees immediately took an interest in him, bringing him over a dinosaur book to look at (once they saw he was playing with a dinosaur toy), and never once did they complain or shoot me a nasty look when he was crawling all over the floor pretending to be a cat. They were patient, kind, and understanding, and for that, I am SO grateful. The atmosphere is also very creative. Lots of pictures and references to science fiction, so it was nerd heaven for a gal like me. Now...the food! I got a pepperoni stromboli, which is quite possibly the tastiest pizza-esque item I have ever eaten. It was fresh, generous, and came with marinara dipping sauce. My only regret is accidentally leaving the leftovers in my car too long so I couldn't eat it later. They made up a kids portion of butter noodles for my toddler, and he ate the entire thing - and this from a kid who is so hyper and distracted that he barely eats willingly! They also had a small table with free cookies, which I thought was a really nice touch (and the cookies were toddler approved). I came somewhere in between lunch and dinner, so I didn't get to experience the buffet. But, I can definitely say that when I'm back in Renton heading to IKEA or whatnot, I will be back. There was nobody there, somebody finally russled around out of the back, the pizza I got was sort of ground up trash and it cost a premium amount. Do not eat at this restaurant. I recommend you go tobetter place a couple blocks up. Go anywhere, go to McDonald's, go to Taco Bell, do not order this pizza from Monkey Pizza. The pizzas sounded so good! The person working there was nice and the cookies were ok, but the pizza was so disappointing (so 4 stars for service and 3 for the cookies) Super thin crust (nothing against thin crust, but there was no flavor in these) but the flavors just didn't do it for me. Tried 2 different pizzas: got one traditional pizza (pepperoni, sausage, etc) and it was ok and a bbq chicken one and the chicken was so dried out. Also tried the wings. Mushy skin on the wings. Bleh. Might decide to give this another chance since it's local, but never again on the wings or bbq chicken pizza. read more

A bit out of the way if you are visiting Seattle, but really good! This place was really unexpectedly good. It's a local pizza joint that's kinda themed to sci-fi? A bit odd, I know. But it's actually really good! The garlic "bread" to start was great and then we got a very unique pizza that had cashews, goat cheese and salami. Weird sounding but amazing! Service was very friendly and the bathroom was clean. They also have a good selection of beers and wines, some of which are sci-fi themed and they also have a buffet during lunch periods. We visited around 6 and it was very slow, but I could see wait times being an issue with how small it is if you visited during peak periods. What used to be the best pizza I have ever had is now medicore at best. The food was common and nothing special. The service was terrible and slow. Katie Perry music on a loop going over and over. I really liked the interior of the restaurant! It had a really cool 1950s vibe with some really interesting paintings. My brother and I thought one of them was an actual movie poster! The pizza was fine nothing special and not bad. We ordered online for delivery on a Saturday afternoon. Our estimated delivery time was 2:15 to 2:25. Pizza didn't arrive until 2:55 30 minutes after the delivery window and an hour after we got a text our order was out for delivery. I understand being busy on a Saturday especially a rainy day however they should've made it clear that they were running late or had the delivery person let the restaurant know what was going on. They offer a lunch buffet choice of four pizzas, pasta and salad. On another note you can still order pizza whole or by the slice. I ordered calamari and was overcooked like they never charged the oil they fried it in. I ordered two different slices of pizza and we overcooked and burnt as well. We used to come here all the time with the old owners. Our favorite pizza at the time with great customer service. We give this place a try once a month just to see if they finally get it together. This was unfortunately our very last time there. Ever since the new owners have taken over, the pizza is dry, burnt and lack luster on just about every topping. The atmosphere is way too loud and overwhelming. No consideration for how loud the music is so the audience can converse and order their food without yelling. Staff is inattentive to details of food prep, and rarely ever checks on you when dining in. You get a 50/50 chance if you get hot pizza or cold pizza. The desserts are boring and you can tell come straight from a box. Staff is usually yelling at each other in the kitchen and is not a very inviting atmosphere from the staff. Miss the old owners and old pizza! We happily get pizza ANYWHERE else and is cheaper and better quality. I would choose little ceasers over this place. read more

Disappointed. I was most disappointed about the lack of advertised happy hour. I completely understand why a place would need to discontinue happy hour for covid, just say that on the website. Went here on fellow foodies recommendation and based on the reviews. It was okay. Not impressive. Since I had never been I went with the employees suggestion for one half, and most popular for second half. Got the DTR for one side (way too much Gorgonzola it overpowered everything on that side) and the spicy monkey for the second half. Both were just okay. The spicy monkey side wasn't as bad as the DTR but I wouldn't label it as great either. Garlic was tasty with the pepperoni but I couldn't taste anything else since the garlic overpowered other toppings. I mean, I love garlic but it tends to dominate when used in such large quantities. Knowing that Halloween Day was going to be really busy we placed our order online the day before for our party. When I arrived five minutes before my scheduled pick up time they have not started the order yet period. I was told that they were backed up and short staffed the same reasons that seems to be now the standard reason if they cannot meet the delivery time. Instead could they have taken less orders or prioritized better especially for larger orders or spread it out based on their capacity. No! They still want the income! When I was told it was going to be 20 minutes wait and when. I went back to check in 2 minutes I wa told it was going to be another 20 minutes. When I complained the owner, Shawn, responded with, "Just deal with it!" Wow! How can I give any other rating than a one star and will never patronize this business ever! read more

We came here for New Year's Eve and was happy with our food. We ordered the spicy pizza (can't remember the name), but it was delicious! We also ordered another pizza that was more "combo" like and that was yummy as well-but I felt the spicy one was my favorite. I even ate the crust-which I don't normally do. The service was good. Walked in during covid and it was just me, the place was booming with people coming in and out! So I took my chance and there was a friendly man who greeted me (that's a Win in my book). I ordered online and it said it would be ready at 7:30-7:50 and it was, so I was in and out. I got home and popped it in the oven on 400 because I like my pizza HOT, it was surprising interesting. I got the pineapple and Canadian bacon with a but: almonds, then cinnamon! YOU guys don't knock it? It was delicious! The crunch was added flavor and perfect! The photos made it seem thicker than it was, but it looks kind of like it was lacking a bit of thickness idk what it was! Let's say this presentation was not "OMG" but the flavors were and it got the job done! Ha I also ordered the cauliflower and didn't know it was fried, it was a bit cold when I got home, but it was tasty, but the dipping sauce was delightful! I loved that sauce. Well, I would be the first say that there is no good pizza in Renton...well, I've been proved sooooo wrong. This was the best pizza I've had in such a long time. We also ordered the fried cauliflower and Monkey wings (unfortunately no photo, cuz I was having such a good conversation with the hubby, I just ate and ate until the wings were a figment of my imagination. Definitely the kind of great college pizza joint I've been looking for except there's no college nearby and there's actually available parking in downtown Renton. Forgot to take pics of the food but trust me it's good large slices of greasy pizza. So what makes it really good? The ingredients! They use some quality stuff here. Definitely an upgrade from MOD without the typical $20+ for a personal pizza. Did I mention they sell by the slice until 4pm?
