White sauce (forgot which), chicken, feta, spinach, sundried tomato. Pretty good. "Average" amount of cheese though, should have had more.

Ordered 2 pizzas for about $50, and left a $6 tip (a mistake, I meant to leave a $2 tip but must have forgot to change it). I ordered online. Since there is no option to order extra cheese online, I added that to the special request area. Especially with the tip I left, I would have expected to get what I paid for. One of my pizzas was a BBQ sauce base with chicken, bacon, and pineapple. There was VERY LITTLE CHEESE on this pizza, and the cheese was spaced a good 1.5 inches away from the crust, so there was bare sauce in a ring right behind the crust. The bacon was crumbled in tiny bits and the chicken was skimpy. The BBQ is house made, which had me excited until I tasted it and realized it's spicy. It tastes like they put cayenne pepper in it. I don't like spicy food, and they did NOT mention that their BBQ is spicy. They should call it "spicy BBQ", or change their recipe. Maybe even make two different BBQ sauces (a honey BBQ and a spicy, for example). My other pizza was alright, pretty tasty and just enough cheese for me to not complain. However, the toppings weren't all that plentiful, especially the chicken. There were large pieces of chicken spaced far apart on the pizza, meaning some slices had almost no chicken on them. This place has potential, but they need to step up their game. The crust is quite good with a unique look, flavor, and texture for this area. The pizzas I ordered were a sizeable 16 inches, and for about $25 per pizza that's not bad. But I don't want to be paying $25 for bread and sauce. Cheese is a big component of pizza, and for those of us that want a nice, cheesy pie, we should be able to get that! I would have been happy for pay even $5 more per pizza if it meant getting the amount of cheese I wanted.

Smoking Monkey Pizza opened a new location in Spokane across from the Davenport Hotel on Sprague. They're as good as the Renton and Seattle locations. Super good

I was in Spokane for a conference and stumbled upon Wooden City because it is on the Spokane "where…read moreto eat list". A deeper dive showed a good possibility of gluten free options, so I made the reservation. I was in town on a Monday, just after Hoopfest, but they were the kind of busy where a reservation should always be made I think. My table was ready and I sat in the bar at a high top table. I think I would choose "in the dining room" next time. My server was friendly and quick, as well as knowledgeable about gluten free options. There is even a separate menu that lays out the dishes that are already gf or could be made to be. Love this, always. I ordered the summer salad to start. It was amazing. Flavorful. Fresh. The mint wasn't overpowering, the watermelon was the perfect ripeness. It was so good. I would try to recreate it but it was done so well, and I know I couldn't hit that dressing in the same way. Get it while you can. For my main, I had ordered the scallops in my brain before I even arrived. The risotto was a little soupy, but the flavor was SO good. The corn came through and it went so well with the scallops. The tomatoes were quite over salted, but as long as I didn't eat them alone, it was alright. The scallops were perfectly cooked and I felt like the portion was appropriately sized for the dish, even though there were only 4. My server really made the experience enjoyable. The atmosphere was busy but the booths looked like they could be cozy. The prices were on the higher end. But for a special occasion, it was worth it. I really wished I'd had room for dessert. I will surely go back the next time I am in town.

First off, I was looking for an authentic Napoli style pizza. Like a fresh red sauce from crushed tomatoes and a beautiful chewy, pillowy, yet charred crust. The verdict: Wooden City is the winner! The crust is really really good! The sauce is a bright beautiful tomato sauce that looks like crushed tomatoes however, the sauce was lacking flavor:( I would give this pizza a 3 out of 5. The crust is a 4 1/2 star but the sauce lacking in flavor..brought it down to a 3. Cute place, very pleasant friendly staff..way friendlier vibe than Barrelhouse. The boys are easy on the eyes for younger girls on the hunt! Lmao Don't bother with the Margherita pizza at Barrelhouse. Thank God I only paid $12 for the Margherita Monday deal of half off! The crust was horrible! Dominos has better crust! Costco pizza's had a better crust! The sauce has flavor, very garlicky like fresh garlicky but more of a paste with a load of oregano in it. The cheese didn't have that fresh taste I was hoping for. However, they are known for their Detroit pizza's which I haven't tried but if it's the same sauce, I would pass. Not saying it's bad but it's just not MY cup of tea whether it's for a Detroit style or any pizza. Now you don't have to guess which place has a better Margherita pizza. I wouldn't even pay $12 at Barrelhouse for a marg. Would I come back, yes, if I were in my 20's.. lol but since I'm older and the food is more important to me...no...:/ But hey, maybe their other pizza's are better! I can see a salty pepperoni being good!

The restaurant itself is located at the bank of the river in Spokane, so it is in a nice, appealing location. The service was actually a lot faster than I had expected and at first, that made me a little bit more weary. I liked that I was able to order a slice of any of the toppings and I could order a whole pizza and have half of one kind of topping and half as another kind of topping. It allowed me to try three different toppings. The Green Goddess was excellent and I highly recommend it. The Sausage Arugula had really well made homemade sausage and I would definitely get it again. I also got the chicken pesto which was flavourful and also amazing. The pizzas were Neopolitan style and were cooked very well. Prices however are pretty steep for pizza. I had one whole pizza (two different toppings) and two slices and was close to $50. Definitely not somewhere I would go regularly because of how expensive it is, but otherwise the food is great!
