I've had Smoky's Sandwich Shop's Bacon, Egg and Cheese croissant now for over a year without me knowing it was from Smoky's. A co-worker of mine had brought me on two different occasions a breakfast croissant sandwich and I always thought they were really good. I finally asked him the name and he told me they were from Smoky's. I'm now on day 2/2 of ordering the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant with strawberry jelly added. I'm hoping to end this streak today before things get completely out of hand with me making this a regular date. The woman who took my order twice in those days knew exactly who the sandwich was for when I arrived, which I find hilarious. Anyway, this is a shop is sort of hidden from the highway but I kind of like it that way because it is a hidden gem. Definitely excited to try the other items on the menu. read more

My husband , daughter & I & friends, have been having lunch there for 20+ years. We have continued going there even after the former owners sold the business. The atmosphere changed significantly. The female owner is not friendly at all but yet again we've continued going because we've liked the hamburgers & fries. We ate there on 8/21/24 & the female owner was still unfriendly as ever. The cook & assistant were nice enough. They at least smile when serving. The burger was ok but the fries which we had ordered extra crispy weren't crispy at all - totally limp & cold & there was attitude when we asked that the fries be cooked longer. Sigh, at $30 for this low experience is not worth returning there in the future. A tradition comes to an end. read more

Minimalist, Asian-run sandwich shop in otherwise desolate industrial area. Good selection of offerings: sandwiches, wraps, plates of all kinds. The tuna salad on toasted wheat bread was good but a bit on the small side. The Asian "plate of the day" was teriyaki chicken, vegetables and rice. First time visiting this place and will never come again. I walk in to pick up my food and as the cook was taking my fries out and placing them in the container, the cashier touches my fries with her bare hands and takes something out. I'm guessing a hair or something and was disgusted by it and no longer wanted it. I asked her why did she touch the food with her bare hands and wipe her hands off on a towel? She didn't answer and acted like she didn't understand I asked her to take it off and didn't want it. I get home eat the food and immediately got an upset stomach as did the other guest from eating the food. They obviously aren't that clean and or properly don't store the food correctly. Considering what I saw and the person acted like she didn't do anything I was taking a chance. Ugh, save your money and don't eat here. Unless you want the bubble guts! :( read more

I've eaten here three times recently since the yelp reviews made the food sound so good. Well, most of the food is just ok. Service is friendly, so one star extra for that. Hamburger and fries: hamburger tasted and looked like it was pre- cooked, and then pan fried to heat it up for service. No bueno. Fries were definitely overcooked, which I can't handle. They were hot and fresh from fryer, but too well done. Spare ribs had a nice flavor, but they were nuked in the microwave. There were spots on the meat that were tough and hardened. It probably would have been good if they hadn't been in the microwave. Chicken teriyaki had a good taste, different from traditional Japanese teriyaki chicken. This was fresh off the stove, so no issues with overcooked microwaved spots. Rice and salad served with the meals were subpar. Rice was dry, and iceberg lettuce soggy. This restaurant is busy with local workers, so they won't miss my business, and I wish them the best. read more

Went here based on all the "5 star' reviews, and I was on a call locally. Bare bones restaurant with a number of tables inside. Order at the counter, food delivered to your table. I ordered the beef teriyaki, which was honestly okay - bread soggy, meet over cooked - but wouldn't rush back for another. We love coming to Smokys for their chicken teriyaki. Their portions and price are on point. It's always so big, that I have plenty of leftovers. I think we order take out 1-2x a week for work. I LOVE coming here. Such a hidden gem, it looks plain from the outside (also on the inside), but the food and service are great! The cute Korean owners are hard working and very sweet. I had the teriyaki chicken (one of their signature dishes), and it is one of the BEST I've had. I love when Koreans make teriyaki chicken (has its own distinct flavor compared to other teriyaki chickens). Also comes with steam white rice and a green salad worh your choice of dressing (Italian, ranch, thousand island, the basics). Super reasonably priced, large servings. Will be back for more soon! Hidden gem is correct.... We (Co-Workers) don't eat here enough. The chicken teriyaki is EPIC! HUGE portions and the people working there actually care! It's seriously enough for 2 meals. There is something special about the way they marinate the chicken in those white tubs. I'm sure it's at least 24 hours of deliciousness. Cooking it on the flat top grill sears the flavors in and gives it almost a carmelization. Wow. This place is a hidden gem! My boyfriend was so excited to show me this place and believe me I had my doubts when I felt like we were entering an industrial business building wasteland. But tucked away among these buildings is a true treasure. I can't speak for everything off the menu, but if your looking for a good, cheap, meal for lunch or to-go for dinner this is the place to go. The Teriyaki Chicken Plate that comes with rice and salad is 8.95 and the must have item. They bring the whole dish on one plate but you almost need two because the portion is so big. Found Smoky's via web search when the West End Deli closed. I've been here now 3 times in the past couple of weeks. The melted tuna sandwich was great and as was the patty melt. The latter could have used a few less onions but those can be removed of course. The highlight for me was their club house sandwich. Thin, toasted sourdough bread with ham, turkey, cheese, etc was very good. As other have said, ambiance is a bit bare but get it to go if you must. read more
