Idk why there is so many bad reviews but this place is fantastic! They had live music, great service and you can get to the bar from your boat. So I had the cheese burger and pretzel bites and it was very good. The rest of my family was very pleased with their meal as well. We will definitely be returning! read more

Pathetic bar. This is not really a bar as for the last six months the draft beer has "is being repaired" . We were there today and sat at a table where there were a few plates with half-eaten food because there were no other tables. None of the staff felt it was their responsibility to remove those plates. There were so many flies, consuming the leftover food from the previous customers. The dirty plates were not removed even after they brought our beer. We have come to this bar in the past because it is a very nice unique location with a sunny patio on the lake, but I think that the owners are letting this place fall apart. They are not giving good guidance to the work staff on how to do their job. read more

I am of age, sober, and was refused to be served alcohol, no reason given. Bar closed at 2am and we arrived at 11:50. Everyone else was still being served. The entire time I felt discriminated for no reason. Customer service was the worst experience I've ever seen. read more

The worst bar experience I've ever had. Someone I was with was on their second drink of the night and made the mistake of trying to walk out the door (which we know you can't do but it was an honest mistake) and the bouncers response instead of saying anything to him was to immediately choke him by his shirt. I attempted to speak calmly and politely to said bouncer and he got very aggressive and hostile towards me so I immediately asked to speak with the manager. When the manager finally arrived he was immediately aggressive as well (he seemed drunk) and seemingly wanted a reason to use force against me so I decided to leave and will never be back. I've never once experienced something like this and am legitimately considering a legal course of action. read more

Travelled a long way to get to Snappers on Saturday 6/12 about 5:30, only to be ignored by the waitstaff. for nearly 15 minutes. The name has recently changed to Tumbleweed Cantina and the interior has been nicely renovated. The menu looks great however I have been there twice now and both times I was disappointed. First time had the Mahi Mahi Fish Taco Platter $12.95; the portion of fish was small and was way overcooked. Second time I tried the Enchilada Platter $14.95 which comes with 3 very small enchilada's, the chicken was OK, the beef was the same but the pork was pretty moist. Honorable mention although for the (16oz) $2.50 Michigan Micro brew drafts which is a great deal, includes Bells Oberon. Also apparently there is free comedy on Tuesday nights and I must add that we had great service and they were very kid friendly during early dinner hours. This is a restaurant with an identity crisis. It's back to being Snappers after a brief stint on Tumbleweed. I've only ever been in here on Sunday afternoons. The food I've had has been decent, and the beer specials are good. The bartenders have been upbeat. I've never seen more than 7 other people in the place. The burgers are fantastic, my favorite is the Southwest. It's a great place to hang out right near the boat canal oh, and they have live entertainment. It doesn't get better than this place. I've been there several times oh, and I live quite a distance away. It's worth the trip. read more

Apparently this place has been called a bunch of different names.. but when we were there it was called Snappers on the Water. It is literally on the water's edge - they have docks (although with as shallow as it was I don't know what you would dock there besides a rowboat) - I believe it is Bennett Lake that they are on (thus the name of the road). We went there with a restaurant.com coupon in hand, which was happily accepted. I thought it was noteworthy that they have a 64 oz drink available for $18.95 that has just about every shot known to man in it. Insane!! The food was delicious. we didn't drink alcohol here though so I can't say anything about the bar staff or the quality of their drinks. The snapper which was advertised was unavailable, so that was a disappointment, but no big deal. What was available was well prepared and presented. The wait staff was friendly and courteous. They are a small venue, and they had a party bus parked out front when we visited (we were there for lunch, so the place was empty then, but I imagine at night it gets uber busy being in the middle of nowhere on a lake). Overall, I'd have to say it was a 3 star experience. The novelty was nice, but I don't really see us returning. read more

I don't normally write reviews but definitely wanted to tell people on how big of a disappointment Snappers is. The service... I swear our waitress forgot about us a few times, plus we would order something then it would come back another way. The draft and soda was out. Which isn't a new thing. And the food! If it's meat DON'T eat it. Their corned beef Philly sandwich is absolutely disgusting. I wasn't even sure if it was actual meat or meat that was still good. I will never go here again. read more

This review is for Tumbleweed Cantina. After having some tasty toronados at taste in Fenton, we wanted to try this place out. Sitting outside, drinking a local Michigan beer? Success. The food? FAIL. Service? While our waitress was top notch- we waited forever for apps and dinner to arrive. Only to be completely let down. Food was tasteless. I had the fish tacos. Wife has the tamales. Kids had the combo tacos. $70 for the four of us to eat bland food. Sorry. We won't be back. And there are better places to go for a drink. read more

This place is probably the dirtiest bar I've ever been in. The building looks like it is falling down and the area around it looks like a junk yard. It is obvious that the owner does not care at all about this business since the staff is rude and the food looked uneatable . So disappointed!! Went out for a Thursday night dinner with friends. Wanted a place on the water. Chose snappers and that was a huge mistake. It took 20 minutes to get a drink. Put our food order in and apparently it got lost because it took well over an hour and a half. Chicken breast sandwich was a 1" strip of chicken on a 4" wide bun. One of our party ordered the chicken sandwich with no sauce or onions and it came with everything on it. The poor waitress brought a cold bun out for us to put the chicken from the original sandwich on. Very, very disappointed. No smoking on the deck and no one was observing that either. So very disappointed!! Won't be back for food. Maybe for cocktails but we will see. read more

Not our first time here, despite never having a good experience. We kept trying because we like to sit outside on nice summer nights, but after tonight we will never return. When a bar can't even manage to serve a decent draft beer, you have to draw the line somewhere. Our waitress, the only one, was also the bartender. Didn't know how to make a Piña colada. I asked what was on draft, she said it was all flat except the labatts. It was flat. I asked for a bottle of beer, but was still charged for the draft. Apparently it is ok to smoke at the tables outside, many of the other patrons were. Service was painfully slow and awful. Any bar that can't serve a common mixed drink or draft beer should be avoided. read more

The place calls itself the Tumbleweed Cantina now, sadly we had the misfortune to eat there recently. My husband and I had been in one afternoon for Margaritas on the patio and looked the menu over and thought it all sounded quite tasty. Sadly when we arrived with my parents and 2 children we were proven wrong. We were served our drinks in a timely manner and were waiting for our appetiser when 2 one of which made it known loudly that she worked there sat a table away from us and proceeded with her friend to shout to all her regular customers at the bar about how completely tanked they had gotten the night before and how someone had wet themselves. Lovely dinnertime conversation, shortly after that my Mother pointed out that there was a permanent stripper pole attached to the stage where the DJ equipment was. It was Saturday night so we were beginning to worry,lol. We ordered Chimichangas, the Steak Fajaita and the kids had the kids meals. The Chimichangas were probably the greasiest most disgusting things I had ever seen and goodness know just how many times those beans had been retried. Easily one of the most vile meals I have ever been served, I won't say eaten because I wouldnt eat that hog slop. On a good note the Margaritas are top notch, couldnt comment on the strippers. Don't bother! The manager was as much of an airhead as the waitress who took our order ( 4 ) , not bothering to write anything down, then 5 min. later came back and asked 3 of us what we ordered. Since she didn't ask me, I figured mine was the only order she did remember, WRONG! she brought all the orders, one at a time, then looked at me and asked what I had ordered! After about 10-12 min. I asked for the manager. As I was explaining to him what happened, she finally brought out my dinner, which wasn't what I ordered. By this time everyone else was done with their food & the manager said he'd take care of it; he sent out another waitress who said she continue taking care of us and left. When she came back, she started clearing empty plates and I told her she could have mine too; since I didn't order the scallop fettucini I only ate the scallops & some of the side order of hushpuppies. (I had ordered the scallops & hushpuppies dinner, Not scallop fettucini dinner with SO of hushpuppies) She appologized and left. 10-15 min. later, when I had gone to the ladies room & returned, there sat another dinner! I sought her out explaining I didn't want another dinner, just the check. When it came, I was surprised to see I hadn't even been comped for the beers (2) I had, or something at least, and got charged for the side order I hadn't asked for. I can't believe the manager had no more regard for my business than that so I paid the $70 bill and vowed never to be back. Guess he feels he doesn't need satisfied customers. read more

I have heard good things about this bar so I decided to go on a Saturday night. When I got there the parking lot was completely full and we ended up having to park in between two vehicles blocking them both in so they couldn't leave. Walked into an extremely packed bar with not one seat open. The music was so loud it was impossible to hear someone even if they were yelling in your ear and the floors literly vibrating to the music. The dance floor was full girls grinding aggressively on eachother while guys were lined up against the bar staring like vultures. They were deffinetly past max capacity and just waiting for trouble to happen. I left after 5 minutes of being there it was so rediculous. read more

I have always thought this bar was ok. The Parking well , very minimal! I did lose a lot of respect for this bar when I went there recently and I walked through the door was asked for ID (good thing) and then walked passed a table with a small child sitting at it, along with a bunch of adults having a good ole time. A bit later at about 11pm they small child was still there and had been on the dance floor with a bunch of drunken adults dancing spilling drinks smoking freak dancing. When I asked a server about it I was told well this little boy was sitting at a table the owners were sitting and so it's ok! UMMM no it's not! The prices of drinks are pretty decent. Not so sure I would have a meal there because of the lack of cleanliness of the place. The bathrooms both men's and Women 's very dirty! That's about it. read more

Went here last Saturday evening, because it was a beautiful day and wanted to sit out on the deck. The atmosphere is good, but the service was horrible. The deck waitress NEVER came over to wait on us. She took a drink order from another table, but not ours. I noticed that the other table had to wait quite a while for their drinks, too. Finally went inside and ordered our drinks from the bar. The bartender was friendly enough, but she actually had trouble taking a two drink order! Not sure if the staff drinks while they're on the job or what?!? Lots of other places around that have just as nice of a setting and much better service. read more

This is hands down the worst restaurant I've ever been to, and this is coming from someone who frequently visits somewhat trashy sports bars and eats questionable food. My boyfriend and I walked in to a quiet, almost empty restaurant. I notice what looks like a stage and also what looks like some sort of stripper pole? Yuck. I can only imagine how trashy this place gets after midnight. Anyways, a table of what looked like trashy employees and possibly a regular bar goer or two greeted us and told us to find a seat wherever we like. I get a much more welcoming vibe when a host guides me to a seat, but whatever, they seemed friendly. Once seated I noticed all of the dust covering the windows and noticed piles of dead bees lining the window sill. Seriously? Something like that should be taken care of immediately. The fact that somehow a bug problem like that can be over looked just tells me that nobody cares about the business or puts much effort into it all. My boyfriend ordered a water to drink, and I got a tea. The tea was fine, but his water tasted like it had been freshly scooped out of the lake. Putrid. I feel like I have lead poisoning now or like the water came out of a pipe that hadn't been turned on in years. The waitress seemed pretty friendly at first. We order our food and suddenly music starts blaring out of the speakers and I feel like I'm front row at a concert and can't hear my boyfriend talking to me. Someone fiddled with the music for the next couple of minutes, repeatedly turning it up and down. I don't expect a bar to be quiet but the volume was ridiculous and the continuous changing of the volume was just obnoxious and of course we happened to be seated right under the speaker. We asked politely if we could move, to which the waitress said yes, but after we moved she started being short and weird with us, and the other employees kept eyeing us down and making us feel uncomfortable. It was pretty obvious they were talking poorly about us. There were a few intimidating males in there, not sure if they were employees or local drunks,but I didn't want to get up to go to the bathroom in fear they would make a sexual remark to me or say something stupid to me. All of the female workers acted trashy and seemed like they spent all of their paychecks at the bar. The man I believe to be the owner walked by us several times and never said a word, only shot us weird glares. Our fried pickles were pretty decent though, and gave us both hope that this visit wasn't overall horrible. The pizza however, was awful. The toppings tasted old and the sauce tasted like someone melted down metal into or something. I've never had pizza that was inedible before I came here. It made me feel sick after just a few bites. I had to stop eating. The overall vibe of this place is "booze and assault and battery". Would not send my worst enemy here and will honestly be very surprised if neither my boyfriend or I suffer some sort of upset stomach or illness from the food (and drinks!) we subject ourselves too. In one word: AWFUL! read more
