I've always enjoyed my cheeseburger from Snarf's BUT they need to clean their restaurant. At first I didn't notice the uncleanliness but everything is greasy and sticky. Just look at the floor inside, it hasn't been deep cleaned in years. So, I went outside to wait for my burger and all the tables and chairs were sticky from the grease. You can see the grease all over the parking lot too. Invest a few hundred $$$ and steam clean your business. It really needs it. read more

Big thick patties and slices of bacon. Loads of melty cheese. Oodles of free toppings to choose from. Cheap, quality fries for the side. It was so big I could barely fit my mouth around it. Patty was burnt and a good deal smaller in size than the bun. Service was not very polite and the burgers were made carelessly. I usually LOVE these burgers. Today's.......not so much. Seems like I got gypped on patty size. Also, the bun wasn't as fresh as I remembered, from previous visits. Snarfburger is Boulder's best burger. It is way better than Larkburger, Smash burger, or Five Guys. They have more variety of toppings, better fries, richer shakes, AND it's cheaper than the rest. I am a faithful patron Snarfburger and think it routinely goes overlooked. read more

Hands down the BEST BURGER I'VE EVER HAD. I've been to all the burger places (around the nation and locally in Boulder) Snarfburger is hands down my favorite. Tiny, funky little burger place with mostly outdoor picnic table seating. It's definitely a hidden gem for all of the college kids who live around campus. The burgers were great - a more hand-made feel than even In-n-Out. Their fries are also to die for. Limited menu, so you definitely are getting a burger and fries if you go there. Go on a nice day maybe a little before or after dinner time when there's not as much of a rush, just to reduce wait time and avoid the cramped space inside by the order counter. Oh God where do I begin. I came in mid-afternoon and it was one of the most chaotic scenes I've ever stumbled upon. Before I had even walked in the door, there was an elderly couple shooing me away from parking on their property which is adjacent to Snarfburger although it looked like a shared parking lot to me. No no, grandma and grandpa insisted. The dividing line between the properties is right here. Ok, fine, after I get the car parked down the road, I walk in to a shit show. There's a guy that's been waiting 10 mins for his order. Apparently someone else just walked away with it. Another guy comes back up and was told his name was already called 10 times and thus his order was given away. I get handed my order but my fries were still being worked on and my custard was missing. Ok, wait a bit longer for fries to finish frying and custard to be extracted from the machine. Wrong flavor. Gah. No more time to wait, just take it and go. Ok, service and shack experience aside, moving on to the food. The reviews about the patty to bun ratio are spot on. For a single, too much bun for the size of patty. Snarfburger, if you're going to stick with that size patty, you gotta get a smaller/less dense bun. It felt like I was eating bun with a small side of patty. The fries are the frozen variety. For a fast food type place, I guess that's ok, but can you at least fry them long enough such that they're heated all the way through? I got some hard frozen ones in my bag. Also, both the fries and onion rings retain way too much oil. The bags holding them were completely covered in one massive oil stain. Maybe let them hang in the basket for a while longer so the oil can drip off? Similar to the burger, it was like eating oil with a side of fries. The custard was similar to McDonald's or Sonic soft serve but less dense. There was nothing special about it. Since I can get the same portion at the other fast food joints for 1/3 of the price, that's what I'll do from now on. $3.50 for a cup of plain jane soft serve is nuts. For those comparing them to In-N-Out, that's just blasphemy. If anyone's had Short Stop, Snarfburger's fries are insanely greasy just like theirs. I'm not sure whose burger to compare theirs with as I have yet to eat one from a fast food place with such a misappropriate bun to patty ratio. I'm going to give this new business the benefit of the doubt as they've only been open 2 weeks. They have a whole lotta kinks to work out. After you guys get the food and service taken care of, maybe work on the whole parking situation? Clearly mark off some spots so the old couple next door can lay off your customers. read more

I want to like this place, I really do. However, in the dozen or so times I've been (I live nearby) it's been very hit or miss. Tonight was my worst experience yet, which prompted me to finally write a review. I've loved their grilled cheese in the past, but tonight they screwed up one of the most basic offerings on their menu. I counted six, yes SIX slices of cheese (not fully melted so I could still tell them apart) on my sandwich. It was basically a greasy brick of cheese with some bread. It was hardly edible. However, the thing that bugged me most was the crowd there (employees included). I was a bit surprise when I arrived to find 6 men smoking weed DIRECTLY outside the entrance, requiring me to walk through them to get in. Yes, it's Boulder, yes, I'm generally cool with that, but there are a lot of people who would not be. Then once inside, I had the displeasure of listening to the conversation of the employees cooking my food. The part that freaked me out the most was what sounded like a discussion of a security camera somewhere in the building (downstairs it sounded like?). One of them then said, "Man, that camera used to scare me with all the shit we do in here!" while they all laughed hysterically. I wonder if the owner knows about any of this "shit." I get that they're young and it's probably a crap minimum wage job, but thats not what you want to hear from someone cooking your food. Wow, such awful service. I'm from out of town and thought this looked like a good burger place to go to after a night out. So a show up at around 1245am. There were 2 people in the place that looked like they already ordered. So I assumed it would be pretty quick, boy was I wrong. I was sitting there for a good 10-15 minutes and I thought it was taking a while and they had two burgers getting ready to go so I asked if they were ours and they said no they were just putting ours on the grill. Seriously? after at least 10 minutes and you don't put a burger on the grill even? So while my cab meter was running and my cab driver told me he was leaving, I had to go with because in boulder it takes 20 minutes to get a cab and didn't feel like waiting any longer. So they say they refunded my card, even though it say "transaction failed" we'll see. But anyway, didn't actually have a burger here so all I can speak for is the service which was awful... Oh and then they have me a gift certificate for free fries and beverage, but it expires on 8/31/13. Today's date is 10/13/13, so that does a lot of good. I don't write too many yelp reviews but I felt I wanted to share my bad experience here. Hope you have better! read more

AVOID Too many glowing reviews- this place is awful, no one in their right mind would give them 5 stars! To start, I should specify- this is the teeny shack on Arapahoe, not the fair to midland sub shop. Where to begin?? They cooked my girlfriend's burger where Onions were cooked& she's still sick! There's no parking. The staff clearly spends more time picking out their 'retro' T-shirts than learning SAFE food handling procedures. Besides my very sick girlfriend, I saw uncooked burgers thawing near the grill, (Yes, kids, fast food gets busy-but that's a giant no-no) no gloves on the employees. The 20 year old behind the counter seemed puzzled when I said I wanted my burger 'well done'. I did not know there was only one way at Snarfburger- uncooked on the inside& burned on the ends. The bun is excessive, but that's not really an issue when your food isnt edible, much less what you ordered. Oh yeah, we (silly customers!) tried to oder our burgers, no Onions, pickle, mayo or hot sauce. Mine wasn't cooked on Onions like hers but both were served with hot sauce& a seemingly random mix of itty bitty eeps of Catsup& mayo served with icky bits of shred lettuce and a whiff of a tomato slice. If you are under 30, have no sense of taste& preferable very high- perhaps you can digest, even like this 'food'. If you have food allergies/are opposed to parasites, like your order done the fracking way your want it.. just avoid them read more

How many snarfburger employees does it take to put bacon on my burger? 1st experience: ordered a double burger add bacon. NO BACON. 2nd experience: ordered a double burger add bacon and a single burger and 2 sides of fries, when they called my name they told me "The one that says bacon on the wrapper is the double." How do you write bacon on the wrapper and then YOU WRAP THE BURGER IN IT WITH NO BACON. 3rd and final experience: ordered the triple B special burger which advertises a double burger with BACON and bbq sauce, I thought that if I didn't add on the bacon maybe the employees that are so preoccupied yapping about how hung over they are and thats the reason why they had messed up a few orders before us couldn't possibly forget the bacon. Welp yelp... thats why I am writing this to warn others. The only reason i gave 2 stars is because the fries. Honestly it is just bacon, but its the fact that every time I go there I leave a tip for incompetent kids that can't get a burger right. If i was management I would go to McDonalds or Burger King and see if i could steal a couple of employees capable of making a simple burger. read more

This review is regarding the new location in Lafayette for starters. Always willing to give new businesses a try, my husband & I decided to try the new Snarfburger. We were extremely underwhelmed considering McDonalds would have been much better for half the price. Hamburger was dry and tasteless ( wafer thin frozen meat patties ) and the fries certainly didn't make up for it. 3 cheeseburgers, 2 fries, 2 shakes and $25 later, quite pricey considering the lack of quality in the food. SO RUDE. The store may have been close to closing, but I came 15 minutes and that's enough to make a burger. A girl literally stops me before I even set foot in the store and tells me they are closed and can't make me food when it's not closed, people taking orders, and eating inside. As soon as she rudely tells me she can no longer serve me, two customers walk by me and into the restaurant and another lady continues to take their order while the cook glared at me and made sure I did not enter. I don't know why I was singled out, but unbelievably terrible customer service on your part Snarfs. I was really hoping for something special as I'm a fan of Snarfs sandwich shops. But, this is nothing special. The burgers lack creativity and are not particularly juicy or flavorful. More resembles fast food. I think they are catering to the high school students and college kids in the area. Prices are low, which should of been my first clue. ok so we come in to order a burger, some fries, and a milkshake. and then the guy taking our order was like sorry our ice cream machine is broken, like who are you, mcdonald's?! so we were like that's fine we will take a fountain drink. so all is good, we ordered our burger, fries, and drink. and then we go to sit down and we are waiting and waiting and waiting. and then they call an order but we didn't know if it was ours or not because they didn't ask for a name or anything and the music is loud, so we just continued to wait. and then the people that came in after us got their food before us, so we were like wtf. so then my sister went up and was like is this ours by any chance, pointing to the bag of food that they called earlier but we couldn't hear them. and then the guy was like, "uhh i don't know maybe" so then she looks in the bag and there were no fries so then my sister asked if they can get our fries and they were like we turned our fryers off. so we payed for fries and didn't get them. so overall we had a really bad experience and i DO NOT recommend coming here. read more

Went to Jimmy's soft opening of Snarfburger for friends and family on Saturday. Small shack style building. All of us (wife and three kids) thought the burgers and fries were "over the top" in the words of my seven year-old son. Lots of topping choices including great crispy bacon. The fries were crisp and perfectly salted. I like everyone, can argue about the best burger around...This is tops, fast service, and a hip joint. Need to try the fried bologna fried sandwich and shakes on my next trip. There is something "custard" based called "Concrete"...Going to need to order one of those as well. read more

We went to Snarfburger Jan. 7, 2017 at around 7:00. The food was delicious and very well priced. There was only one person working while we were there - apparently her coworker had been a no-show - and she was doing an exceptionally good job at taking orders and preparing them by herself, all while being totally upbeat, professional, and courteous to her customers. (Still not open but I think they open tomorrow) GREAT burger, great onion rings - not that I would expect anything less from Snarfs (love their subs). My husband said "just what we need, another $10 burger place in Boulder. The double was $5.00 and it was as good as any other burger in town. I highly recommend this place for a burger. I would rather go here than Larkburger. The fries are nothing special (still ate them all, though) although I have not tried the onion rings. The burger, as long as you get the double, is wonderful.
