Wanted to try their shaved snow here because I was looking for something different than our usual boba run and I thought my husband might want some halo halo. (Although I wanted boba once I saw it on their menu.) Got the honeydew shaved snow with strawberry popping Boba, mango, and mango Mochi (they were out of regular mochi). Husband got the halo halo with ube ice cream. The shaved snow comes with 2 toppings and they let me get the additional free topping for checking in on Yelp. The shaved snow is so soft and pillowy and is super flavorful. I'm not the biggest fan of shaved ice but I'm down with shaved snow and want to try the other flavors here. The mango was over ripe and the mango mochi was a little harder than the usual soft and chewy mochi I'm used to. (And this wasn't because it was hardened by the snow.) My husband thought the halo halo was just ok but then again he's not the biggest fan of sweets and isn't a halo halo connoisseur or anything. I got the mais con hielo to go because I was craving it the other day (prego). Again you can choose your ice cream flavor and I got it with vanilla although they said they usually make it with the mais con queso ice cream. It was yummy and milky and the vanilla added some creaminess to it. I'd come back to try the other shaved snow flavors, specifically the coffee and Oreo. Very pricey just for halo halo $7 plus cents. Not really sure what was the taste are. The toppings was too expired. The boba was so hard to thew and taste old. You can count how many toppings they put it on with the coconut thing. I'm not a big fun of coconut! They put a dry coconut and doesnt much. Over all not recommended. 061 / 100 - 2016 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. Yummy, delicious shaved snow! I've been looking for a place that had shaved snow for a while now. There aren't any in Mira Mesa (booooooo), but this place is pretty close to where I work! My co-workers and I decided to go for some dessert for lunch and we settled on trying out Snoice. Thankfully today was pretty hot, so getting shaved snow and some boba was perfect. Parking here can be a bit of a b, but we parked in front of a donut shop a few doors down. Snoice is connected to a Filipino bakery, so you can imagine how surprised I was when I realized that Snoice is actually REALLY small and its tables are actually shared with the bakery haha. They have screens behind the register that tell you what flavors that have, so please be sure to pay attention to that and not to the website. I was hoping that they would have ube or honeydew for the shaved snow (which they do on the website!), but they didn't this time around. :( (It's ok, this just means I gotta visit again soon!) I ended up getting the original flavor (similar to vanilla bean ice cream) with mochi and boba for toppings. The portion I decided on was Medium. My co-workers decided to get boba drinks. K got a Thai tea and J got an ube blend with boba. Snoice is pretty reminiscent of a froyo joint. If you order your shaved snow to-go, they'll put it in a froyo cup, put the toppings on top, etc. Because I asked to dine in, I got my order on a plate instead. Our orders came out pretty quickly. J liked her drink a lot. She said the blend was just right and that the flavor wasn't lost. She said the boba lasted pretty well in there and that while her drink was cool, it wasn't cold enough to make the boba hard to chew. K, on the other hand, didn't seem to enjoy her Thai tea as much. :( When my shaved snow arrived, I was a little disappointed that it came on a paper plate. I was expecting it to be an actual plate, but I guess it's cheaper/less time consuming for them to have the shaved snow on a paper plate, so I'm not that upset. The original flavor is AWESOME. It tastes a lot like vanilla bean, was very creamy, and easy to eat. It didn't taste ice-heavy and really did remind me of froyo and ice cream. The boba didn't make a huge impact in making the dish more interesting, but the mochi really did. If you order a shaved snow, PLEASE be sure to get mochi! When I asked the cashier what the most popular topping was, he said mochi. I can definitely see why! Overall we all had a great time just enjoying ourselves here. Everything is reasonably priced. Snoice is a modern Filipino dessert & drink shop. It's like a typical boba shop with a twist of Filipino sweets. I personally wish there was a place like this back at home in NorCal but there's not :( Anywho, we drove all the way inland from Mission Valley to try out their halo halos since SD/National City is known for their Filipino food. & we ended up finding this small inland gem on Yelp. Their halo halos are really good. It's more Americanized in that they lack some essentials of a halo halo such as the beans, jackfruit, etc. However, you can customize your own and add those stuff if you like. I got the ice cream sandwich & choose cheese + corn ice cream inside a pandesal (bread roll). It's such a simple thing to easily make at home, but rarely do I have that ice cream to assemble myself. I really like how they have Filipino ice cream such as the one I ordered (i swear the name sounds strange, but it's really good haha), ube, avocado, coconut, etc. The pandesal was warm...ish. I wish it was warmer or toasted. They have other desserts and boba drinks as well. I did not try it, but I feel like they would be good/ worth the try. The place itself is small and it is connected to a Filipino bakery. It's nicely decorated and super cute. A touch of hipster vibes. The parking lot is pretty small. I'm so glad I found this place on Instagram a few years back and even more glad that my Sista was willing to make the 45 min drive to check it out. It was so worth the drive and it has become our favorite boba spot hands down! Their blended taro with boba is perfection! As well as their blended honeydew and their milk Thai tea are just two of my other favorites. The location is small and with recent events the inside wait is limited. They do offer online ordering so you can skip the line and pick up at their outside window. Popped up at the new pop-up on Paradise Valley Road and I'm loving it! Located in Kababayan Bakery, Snoice offers more than your regular snow ice. They serve it with a consistency that appears flaky, like pastries, to only melt on your tongue with the lightest touch! Not only that, but they offer ice-cream and halo-halo - all with a variety of different flavors (i.e. coffee, buko pandan, mango, ube, thai tea) and toppings (i.e. sweet plantains, flan, mochi, pinipig) as well! Because I had a bunch of family over at the shop, we tried A LOT of flavors. The caramel coffee cookie crunch creation was our favorite one! All in all, the snow ice was rich and creamy, and completely cooled us down in the 100° plus weather. So check out your new local business and keep on coming! I came in twice last week and there were friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Although it is kind of hot inside the store, the cute decor makes up for it. I ordered the ube wan blendobi and Thai tea float, by far my fav ube shake I've had. It's so rich and goes well together! Thai tea float was yummy too, had a lot of ice but very creamy and sweet. The other drink I had the other day was matchata and it was very sweet, I loved the horchata taste but I wanted more of the matcha as well. Still delicious and love the idea of this store. read more

When I first originally tried the halo halo I thought it was the best halo halo by far. Definitely tasty & different from the typical halo halo. I've been back a few times since...this place is minutes from where I live and they've ran out of ube ice cream a few times so I've had to choose a different ice cream flavor which makes me wonder why don't they just keep more ube ice cream in hand especially since that is a favorite? The most recent trip to Snoice was finding out that the halo halo no longer includes ice cream like it originally did for $4.25...now if you want ice cream added to your halo halo it is now $5.00. I must have ordered the wrong things because I wasn't too impressed by it. I still want to check them out again though just because they do offer a lot of good looking desserts. The family and I stopped by on a random Friday and there was a lot of parking when we got there but that quickly changed because when we left, all the spots were filled. The family settled on a few sweet treats: two shaved snow - one with ube and classic with strawberries and lychee jelly, and the cousin ordered mango snow with Oreos. Yes, random combination, he's a teenager. Anyhow, we also ordered corn with ice and Thai tea. I'm not sure if they allow you to order with sweetness level and ice level but my brother just had the Thai tea the way they make it. He said it was okay. The corn with ice (I think that's the name of it in English), was pretty good. There was a lot of corn and a lot of ice. It wasn't overly sweet - it had the right amount of sugar. The ice cream on top was really good. Reminds me of my childhood. As for the shaved snow, the medium for $7 wasn't a lot. I thought it would be a lot larger but it was not. The flavors were good and so was the lychee jelly. Overall, I would definitely come back. They have a lot of options and a lot more to try out. Finally a yummy snow place in the South Bay area! Worth the drive east if you don't want to drive all the way up to Convoy. Their snow and boba and desserts are all great. Great service and easy going local staff. One of my favorite things about this place is that it's Filipino owned, supported by the community, is not a chain dessert place, and shares it's space with a filipino bakery. It's really cold inside obviously to keep the food cold so bring a jacket! There were only two things I didn't enjoy while there. One we went during their last hour of business so the bakery next door was cleaning up and the place smelled like clorox, not a very pleasant smell at a dessert establishment. Two the plates for the snow were paper and flimsy once soaked with melting snow. So I recommend getting in a to go bowl even if you do choose to eat inside. Definitely coming back everytime I need my snow fix to support my local filipino community and business. read more

I love this place! The boba here is incomparable to Tapioca Express. It is sweet and actually has flavor. Every time I order milk tea, the tapioca pearls are still warm, so you know that it was freshly made. They also fill up the boba, I almost never am able to finish the amount they give! I have only tried the Okinawa Milk Tea and the Taro Milk Tea. The Okinawa is, as expected, a sweet brown sugar flavor. The Taro Milk Tea reminds me of the filipino ube flavor which is good! (sobrang sarap!) I signed up for their rewards program, and have gotten a lot of free upgrades which is nice when I order a regular size to get a larger one. The inside is a nice place to study or hang out. The couch is usually empty, and there is free wifi. I was stuck between giving 3 and 4 stars, but honestly the girl behind the counter was not friendly at all. Super sassy and rude. I've been coming here for several months and the service for the past couple of months have been slacking a bit. I'm not the type to give bad reviews, but this experience was just off. As for their drinks and food, it's DELICIOUS. Their Okinawa Milk Tea has its own unique taste to it that I haven't tried elsewhere; it's the best (not too sweet). Their boba is soft and chewy which is a plus too. My brother got their Oreo shake and he said it was really good. We left happy with what we bought, but my brother was the one that actually said, "You shouldn't have tipped her because she's not really nice." He's only 11 so that says something.. Their parking isn't too bad, a bit small but it's not hard to find parking. Other than everything else being great, I think that the service is what brings people back. This is probably the best halo halo I've had in SD! The ratio between the jellies, fruits, and flan was perfect. They even put a chunk of actual ube in there! The halo halo comes in small but the cup is like a regular cup at a boba place and they fill it to the top. It was so good I finished the whole thing. I need to come back and try their other goodies on the menu. Looks like on the weekends they do special ice cream sandwiches. Pros: Location, location, location. They're very close to my house. The staff is super-friendly and helpful. Their ice cream sandwiches are very good, according to my daughter, and so is the Halo Halo. They're open late. The place is very clean. Cons: I only have one "con." I like the avocado smoothie better from Tap Ex. That's just a personal opinion, though. Conclusion: Snoice is a great spot. They have a very extensive menu and their staff is so kind. Usually when I'm in the area I'll stop by for a Milk tea with Boba. Ordered on Sunday around 6 and it was a bit busy. The store was hotter inside then it was outside. They had no AC and just a fan? We were driving on the freeway looking to fill our sweet tooth after having a hearty father's day meal and we came upon Snoice. Looking over their menu they have the usual milk tea options that most places offer but what caught our eye was their customized halo-halo (filipino dessert) and shaved ice concoctions. Snoice is located in between the ridge of Skyline and Spring Valley just off of the 125-freeway. The location can be a bit ghetto'ish for some but I'm familiar with the area and definitely safe enough to take my family of 5. Parking is a bit small but the shops in this strip mall are mostly stop-go so you should find parking in a matter of time. Walking into the shop had a mom & pops set-up feel to it. The service was great and they even posted their "secret menu" on the wall which I kind of laughed at because its no longer a secret. I actually preferred the secret menu because my palate isn't too into halo-halo like my wife and kids prefer. My wife had the no frills standard halo-halo picking 6-items off their sides listing. Being Caucasian, she would have made my grandma proud with her choices. My kids really enjoyed sharing this with her. Not really a favorite of Filipino desserts and didn't feel like getting a milk tea....I went with their "let chamango" shaved ice. Let me say... this was definitely not something I would expect from an Asian/Filipino joint to master. It was full with all your typical chamoy sauce, tamarind candy fruit roll, tajin, and the mango bits instantly made this my favorite shaved ice ever.... like ever. Great job Snoice! read more
