I wish they had one in florida as this in my opinion is the epitome of what a sports bar should be. The inside is huge with about 10 pool tables big screen TV's I'm a fan of having 2-3 huge TV's than have 20 TV's across a wall for me that's information overkill. The owners and management thought this out well, everything is strategical placed so that you don't have to break your neck to get a good view of the television screens. The bar is nicely decked out and the lighting is perfect not too bright or dark just enough to see what your eating and enjoy a football game. Snookers made a touchdown in my playbook, the prices are more than fair and since I came up to visit family members I didn't get a chance to see how this place rocks on a Sunday. Check out the pictures, in short i ordered the garlic Parm wings, philly sandwich and my gf ordered the chicken pretzel sandwich. The wings were magnificent, perfect crispiness. The philly is legit, they pack a lot of flavor into it and the bite I took from my gf's chicken sandwich was so juicy. A+ in my book, this will be a regular stop for me every time I come up. read more

This pub is exactly what it claims to be, which I appreciate. There's cheap drinks, descent food, and lots of TVs and pool tables. Unfortunately when we went, there was a tournament going on so we couldn't use the pool tables. We sat in the bar area for some drinks and food. They have $6 martinis on Wednesday's for ladies night. Some of them were very sweet, but I liked The Danica the best. All of the martinis came with a cherry at the bottom which I liked. They also have $5 drink specials on the menu and lots of other options. The food is relatively cheap as well. I had the buffalo chicken wrap. It was nothing special but I couldn't complain about it either. It wasn't busy on a weeknight but I imagine it gets more crowded on the weekends. This is probably the longest wait that I had to wait for a burger and nachos the burger was excellent. But the nachos were pathetic I asked for just chips and cheese on them nothing else. When they came out 2!!! HOURS later they were cold and it was the type of cheese that you would get at a sports arena with the dipping cheese. I just moved from right outside NYC (Hoboken, NJ) this summer. On the Football front, I was greeted with non-stop Patriots coverage and Tom Brady Worship. Worst of all, my beloved NY Giants are not on TV every week. I needed to find a Sports Bar, fast. Snookers definitely satisfied my Football viewing needs. There were plenty of NY Giants fan there as well as other teams. I was not accosted as I proudly wore my Eli Manning jersey (you can't spell bELIeve without ELI). Additionally, there are many pool table and I believe a dart board or two available. I frequent this place quite a bit and was surprised by some reviews I read. The brews are inexpensive and the speciality drinks are only $5. There are also 2 bars in the building! The quality of service can be inconsistent and I think this depends on how busy they are, but to be honest I'm almost never in a rush when I'm here so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me. I feel the food is a-okay, especially since its a pub! All of the nachos are great, I've even had a few pasta dishes that were good. If you come on a Thursday, pizzas are half off. While its not the best pizza in RI, I don't feel its anything to complain about. I really like the atmosphere here, with all the super large tvs its a great place to go watch whatever sports game you're into. They have pool tables in half of the building. Trivia night here (Thursdays) is always fun! There is an outdoor patio area for nicer weather, however I've never ate out there as its not a great view of anything. But its probably a cool meeting spot for the people who show up on their Harleys! The decor is cool, industrial feel with the cranes on the ceiling but also little piece of nostalgia with the the old Rocky Point and vintage gas station signs. I've been coming here for a few years and thought maybe it was time to write a review. Parking stinks the lot is super small but there's street parking so no worries. The walk will do you good since I will guarantee you will eat a lot. I can tell you the food was out of this world. Burgers are a definite must try. Big and juicy and full of flavor. Minnesota fats being my personal favorite. Stuffed with cheese and bacon and topped with cheese oh my. I tried a Taco salad since the man sitting across from me was digging in with gusto. It was amazing. Very well seasoned chicken breast with cheese and pico and sour cream. Wish I could have eaten the generous portion but I had to have the fried pickles. Best ones I've had. Crunch and sweet and salty yummy. I've been here for just apps before and they do them really well. This is definetly a sports bar and there are plenty of Tvs and sports memorabilia all over to check out. The beer list is quite impressive and has some local favorites which the beer geek in me loves. Bathrooms were clean and roomy. They have pool tables too if you want to play. My only thing that was not on par was the service. Same thing past three times I've been. Maybe because I usually sit at the bar ? But they are very inattentive. I would have had more than a few beers if they had checked in on me a little sooner. It took a very long time to put a food order in and no one ever asked if it was ok or if we needed Something. Paid the bill and no one asked if we needed change. It won't stop me from going there because the food is that good but it's worth paying more attention to your patrons. I used to go way back in the day, they used to have bands & Dj's on various nights. Before it had moved and been revamped. I recently went 2 times in the last month and I really like the place. The nights when there is a league is busy & packed, but because the place is so big it doesn't feel over crowded. they seem to do a lot of college & sports events which is cool I guess if you are trying to meet people. The service is decent, the place it self is cool to look at. I like the food. its definitely better than regular bar food, but don't expect a culinary masterpiece. Its done well ans pretty simple. Not a huge menu but has enough for all different tastes. I will say i did enjoy the fried pickles, for that alone I will return for drinks and to hang out with friends. read more

Snookers - the other place I go with my coworkers when Friday hits. Hungry Hour, also known as cheap appetizers (why, oh why, Rhode Island, can't you have happy hour for booze?) is from 3 to 6 on weekdays, and it's perfect for grabbing a little something to eat before/as/instead of dinner. Although I'm a sucker for the oven baked pretzels, which come with cheese dip, my coworkers usually down a couple of plates of cheese fries, which are smothered in cheddar, bacon, and ranch. Beer selection here is decent - Snookers rotates some of the best microbrews in the area (Magic Hat, Newport Storm), but they'll also pour you a Coors if you're looking to start the night on a lighter note (I'm not judging y'all for it, I swear). You can get beer in a 16oz, 22oz, or 34oz, which is basically like ordering from the iced menu at Starbucks. Come here thirsty. Head to Snookers if you want to watch pretty much any game for football, basketball, baseball, or hockey - they'll have it on. As a Mariners and Seahawks fan on the East Coast, I have trouble finding anywhere to watch my teams if it's not the playoffs, but Snookers never fails. As much as I love Snookers, there are two things that drive me nuts about it. The first is the parking. If you can't find parking in the lot, there's a little on the street, but on a popular afternoon or evening, you're almost literally up the river without a paddle. The second is service - Snookers is often understaffed, so it can take up to ten minutes to grab a first drink/get a refill/order food/close out because you're waiting for the bartender to come around. The bartenders are always friendly, but management would do well to hire a couple more so the team wouldn't be spread so thin. read more

Snookers has been a standard on the Providence scene for years. I've always been a fan of this place, a cool pool hall with character. Much more fun than Boston Billiards. They recently moved to a neighborhood near the post office, great news is that they're now on the ground floor so it's easy access for everyone. The new space is broken out into smaller areas so it feels a bit more intimate and there's loads of cool and funky art on all the walls. The bathrooms (the ladies room at least) is much roomier and nicely upgraded. They definitely amped up the dining room too. I threw a private party here last weekend. We had close to 40 people in a private area with 3 pool tables and a couple of HD TV's to watch the game. We had ordered a bunch of food for a buffet, including loads of buffalo wings, and everything was great! The wings were a huge hit. We had 2 waitresses helping us out with our drink orders, when the Pats game got underway and the main restaurant filled up, I realized they were also serving other guests. If I didn't see them out there taking orders for myself, I never would have believed it. They were hustling!!!! Always quick to take our drink orders and would always bring it back pronto. Huge kudos to Lindsay and Stephanie :) The manager was great to work with as well. He was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The burritos, sandwiches, and appetizers i've eaten here have been pretty good. There's a good selection of beers with something for every taste. I don't usually care about sporting events on the TV, but Snookers does something interesting - they have a video feed that shows the old MTV videos for songs that are playing over the PA. I went to Snookers last night and was actually very impressed. The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars was the parking situation, and the lack of service away from the bar for people playing pool. The pool tables are very well maintained and clean, and so are the pool balls. They look as if they are cleaned every night but I'm not 100% sure on that and at only 10 bucks an hour for pool I was very impressed. The drink menu was very cheap. $5 specialty drinks and some pretty cheap beer. Not very many draft choices but that have plenty of bottle choices. The lack of service outside of the bar however is sad. I flagged down one of the wondering waiters for the pool table area and asked if I could put an order in through him. He said it was no problem and he would come right back. After waiting thirty minutes I just went up to the bar and ordered food and put it on my tab. Honestly I was happier I did it that way in the end. The bartender was awesome. Nice guy, didn't get his name but he was a burly guy with a beard. He was very prompt and extremely courteous. There were a couple of younger women at the bar and when the bar tender saw me standing he came right over, unlike most bartenders who would just continue talking to the girls at the bar. The crowd is awesome also. There are a couple guys that you can tell are extremely good at pool (bring their own stick and have a glove on) but they aren't obnoxious or rude at all. We had two guys like this behind us and if we were ever in the way, they would politely ask us to move over or wait for us to take our shot. One guy even gave me advice on how to even out my pool shot! All in all I will definitely be going back here again and it will probably be a place I frequent. The food is a little pricey seeing as we could have bought two drinks for the price of one appetizer but I don't mind eating before hand. read more

Went for lunch on a weekday. I got the Snooker's Burger - 10oz fresh burger with cheddar. It was cooked a PERFECT medium, just as I'd ordered. The burger was delicious. Easily one of the best I've had in Rhode Island. Fries were pretty good, standard. Coleslaw was not to my liking - it had some unusual seasoning that I couldn't really figure. I only had one bite. Good selection of beers, reasonable prices on the drinks and the food too. Very cool atmosphere with of course a boat-load of gorgeous pool tables, more big screen TVs than you can hope for and good service. Had to update my review as I checked out the new location of Snookers last night for the first time. Not a bad time, for sure, but a few things could have been better. We arrived around 11pm and put our names down for a pool table. There were about 3 other parties ahead of us so we grabbed a few drinks at the bar while we waited. The Sangria ($5 which is a good price, I will admit) tasted more like a cosmo to me, but the Serendipity martini was quite tasty. About half an hour went by and we were able to move to a pool table, and from then on were ignored by all waitresses and had to go up to the bar every time we needed another drink. It wasn't that busy in there either, so I'm not sure why we weren't even asked if we needed anything. The general decor of the place is pretty cool and the nachos we ordered were good. Prices weren't too bad either- $10/hr for pool and a few of their drink specials were only $5.00 for a tall glass. read more

My review is based on a bachelor party event I just held there for my brother. It was absolutely a top notch affair and everyone had a great time. When I first inquired about the party the manager I dealt with (Jess) was professional and helpful in selecting a buffet menu that would appeal to a bunch of guys and wouldn't break the bank. What I love is that she didn't try to upsell me on anything; I told her I knew there would be 15 confirmed attendees but we could have up to 20 so she told me that if I paid for 15 there would be more than enough food for up to 20. She was right, we ended up having 20 guys and we didn't run out of food. We were in a separate area with two pool tables; the food arrived hot and on time and everyone commented on how good it was (wings, spinach dip, taco bar, pizza, cookies), the pool tables had constant play the whole four hours, and our server was always around to take drink orders. I can think of nothing negative about the party, everyone had fun so thank you Snookers! read more

Snookers looks much like how I expect Batman's cave lounge would appear, Screens in all directions, as far as the eye can see. But I'm happy to say that the wings themselves will pull you away from the ADHD you will be experiencing and focus on their crispy, lip tingly, juicy, and meaty-ness. This past Saturday was my first time here and I'm so sad that I waited this long to give them a try! If you're looking for a laid back but fun night out this is a good place to consider. They play really good music; a mix of genres and eras. We got there around 11 so at that point you seat yourself, but that was somewhat confusing and awkward... we had to walk around and search for an open table, and it was unclear which ones were available. Once we found a seat though, the waitress came right over and she was awesome. I wish I remembered her name. I went to Snooker's last night to check out their well advertised Thursday Trivia Night. The ad I saw stated that trivia started promptly at 9 PM. We arrived at about 8:40. The parking lot was beyond full, there were cars blocking other cars in, and it was very hard to maneuver around. Street parking was impossible to find on Ashburton. We ended up parking in the back of the Mariott parking lot and walking down with about 5 minutes to spare before trivia. When I approached the hostess, she told me there was no seating available, and no promise of seating within the next hour. We put our names on the waiting list. After looking around for a bit I found a couple of seats at a small bar in one of the pool rooms. After about ten minutes we didn't receive any service, so I caught the attention of a bartender. I asked him about trivia, and he said you had to be signed up by 9. Super sad. There were tons of beer and food choices, and a lot of things going. A lot of pool tables, a plethora of TVs. Not recommended for trivia night, due to disorganization and over crowdedness, but I will definitely return to give Snooker's another chance. read more

While the long name of this place sounds either like some SEO consultants nonsense or something badly translated from another language - the fact is that Snookers is a decent sports bar with a good menu AND a pool hall. It has a huge space and does all three things (sports bar, food, pool) well. We're not talking about about a bar with one or two pool tables, or a pool hall with one or two small tvs and a limited mediocre menu. We're talking about a gigantic space with a ton of pool tables, and a whole seperate space that's a bar/restaurant, and there are tvs everywhere to watch a game. The food is typical bar/family restaurant grub. We're not talking about fine dining here, but if you can find it at Applebees, you can find it at Snookers. What I've had has been good, and the prices are pretty standard. There are more pool tables here than you know what to do with, and there's a good amount of space so you're not constantly bumping into each other. Depending on when you go some of the billiards area may be segmented off for private parties. I've only been here at fairly slow times, but given the traffic/parking situation when I've driven by on a weekend it seems like this place probably gets PACKED on weekend nights. I haven't experienced that. But when I've been there I've found the service to be prompt and decent, and the food good. It's not my type of place to hang out regularly, but I would never say no if someone suggested going to Snookers to shoot some pool. read more

Went for trivia on Thursday night, wasn't really crowded so was able to get a seat at the bar (most places are so busy on trivia night so this was a great surprise). We ordered pulled pork nachos that were delicious, but we discovered later that the sliders were half off on Thursday but bartender never mentioned it. The place is fun and seems like a great venue but the service at the bar was very inattentive. Initially the bartender was really pleasant, telling me her name but then I didn't see her much. Went there on a Saturday night about 830. Went there with 2 people to play pool and have a good time. The pool tables were packed, they said about 45 minutes for a wait but was more than 2 hours. Meanwhile the booths and tables in the food area were pretty well empty. So if you are planning for a full night of food and fun then this would be your place. But if you only want to drink and play pool you either want to get there early or go somewhere less busy. There are also plenty of bars in there. Including one with just a few seats that makes it great to socialize with friends. The wait staff is also great. They also have a good selection of mixed drinks that are fairly priced along with good priced alcohol. read more

Nice place, not skeevy at all. Tons of space, Huge flatscreen TVs at every pool table. Food is above average. Not spectacular, but a cut above your average pool hall. Large beer selection with good specials (usually a $2 tallboy of some kind). It's clear they go out of their way to hire young, attractive female waitresses, as the place is always packed with them. It can be difficult to actually play pool here, especially in the evenings - there are league / tournament events almost every night of the week, which tend to leave only a few tables open to the public, or none at all. These events can last until 10PM or later, so your best bet for trying this place out would be later in the night. I personally find this incredibly frustrating - 3 of the last 4 times I've dropped in all of the tables were consumed for some event. They have an awful lot of tables and you'd think they could manage this better, but my frustration is just evidence of what a nice place this is to play pool. read more

Love the fact that they have a lots of pool tables and you can also rent a section with your own pool table for a private party as well. I ordered a cup of chili and a roast beef panini. The chili was average but the roast beef panini tasted like soap for some reason. Or maybe i was too sensitive. And a plus for my husband, a ton of televisions streaming any sports game you could want! We tried the pretzels as an appetizer, they were very good and came with three dipping sauces. I was very confused by this place. By the name I was expecting a dark, dank billiard hall; instead it was a wide-open watered-down Hooters wannabe. Not enough beer selection to be a good beer-hole, TVs very widely and oddly placed and surprisingly quiet for a sports bar, and clearly too bright and not seedy enough to play pool.
