Great food and atmosphere at an affordable price. We hit them up for Happy Hour specials three different times while at Cherry Grove. Good service and great food. Best She-crab soup that we've had in the area!! Buffalo Shrimp, Grouper Bites were also delicious and the Tuna Tower was sooo good and such a generous portion for a restaurant on the beach! Felt it wasn't very "sanitary" - especially coming off the whole Covid circumstances (wiping of tables and bars), but they were only open a week when we were there. Staying next door at The Wyndham "Towers On The Grove", and went over for a "Light Dinner", to complete our Fabulous Day! My wife had the TUNA LETTUCE WRAPS, and I had the BABY CLAMS W/ PASTA AND CHEESE....PHABULOUS, PHABULOUS, PHABULOUS!! We were excited to try out this new spot right on the water. It's a super cute, with great patio space on both levels. Can't beat the location and view! We were told it would be about a 30 minute wait on a Sunday night, but it only ended up being about 10! We were able to grab some drinks while we waited. They have a nice drink menu with cocktails, wine and beer. Food was meh. I had a spinach artichoke chicken alfredo that just seemed to be some pasta with plain alfredo sauce, and some chicken and artichoke mixed in. I did not see or taste any spinach in it, and it was very bland. My husband had some fish tacos and he said the blackened mahi mahi was good, but everything else was pretty tasteless. The sweet potato fries came out cold, and our friends were missing one of the items they ordered. We agree we will give it another try, but if we can't find better food options it might just be a spot for drinks and views. They have a big sandbox for kids in the back, which is cute...but it needs some rules and people need to supervise their kids playing in it. Kids were throwing sand around and it was blowing on the tables close to the sandbox. I don't think those couples were too happy!! The bar directly next door had a live band playing on Sunday evening. This was our third visit to Snooky's, having previously gone in May 2021 and May 2022. We have always enjoyed the view of the ocean and the lively crowd along with a pretty good meal. This year's visit will be our last sadly. The food was mediocre at best, with the exception of the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer, which is definitely the high point of the visit. My husband got the Grouper Corey with french fries which looked great when it came out. With the first bite though, he quickly determined this was far more breading than actual fish. I got the Pinwheel Wedge Salad with salmon. It was good, for all intents and purposes, but not really anything remarkable. Service was also mediocre which pains me to say, as I know everyone is trying to do more with less staff. But it really was just 'meh'. As I said, we have always enjoyed Snooky's for what it is .. a festive, melting pot of tourists with good food. This time was pretty subpar, so just know what you're getting going into your dining experience. read more

So surprised at the low reviews! As usual we had appetizers. We had a late lunch and we're not that hungry. The dozen oysters were wonderful. Huge, fresh and delicious. We also had the Tuna Tower. It was delicious but the rice was undercooked, amateur mistake that should not happen. The sole reason for my star deduction. We also tried the seared tuna and it was delicious. Everyone else really liked their meals. I would totally come back and might even try the Tower again as it has such promise! We went here with a group of 8 people, two of them local and the others frequently come to the area so we were very much just along for the ride. It was actually super fun to go somewhere having not looked at the menu or reviews at all! I actually couldn't even remember the name of this place but that probably has more to do with "Dirty Myrtle" beers I was told I had to have here and later found out were double IPA's. Anyhow, the place is really nice and has an amazing view. Our server was fantastic, some of the best service I've had in a while. Can I give zero stars? The service was terrible. Even though servers were friendly a table that arrived 20 minutes after us were served their food 20 minutes before us. Our side of stone ground grits arrived 15 minutes after the main entree and was stone hard we asked for fries instead. The platters were $25 each and not worth the price at all. Very small portions and the taste was lack luster to say the least. We make better seafood at home. The location and ambiance would have been nice if the banister overlooking the ocean wasn't entirely blocked by old men standing up drinking. They got a good view of the ocean while we got a good view of their ass. Also there was a dog sitting on a man's lap licking all over his finger while he ate his appetizer. Ordered one appetizer and two entrees on a Monday night. 7:30 pm. Entrees came out before the appetizer. Waitress asked us if we'd ordered an appetizer?!?! Entrees go back, appetizer comes out cold and congealed. Appetizer goes back and doesn't reappear until we'd flagged down and asked our waitress (who told us she doesn't control the kitchen...wow, no kidding) AND the manager. Appetizer (Oysters Snooky) was about a 5 out of 10. Entrees come back (lump crab 5/10 and pan seared mahi 6/10), but at least they were warm. Just started eating when the waitress asked us if we wanted the bill. Told her we'd let her know. After she asked twice more in the next 15 minutes, we gave in and said ok. The best thing about Snooky's Oceanfront is it's location. How can you beat oceanfront? They did a fantastic job with the building with plenty of outside seating on the oceanfront. What is disappointing is that they did not replicate the excellent food of the original Snooky's Waterfront in Little River. The food here does not compare; it is mediocre seafood. The staff is also a disappointment. Possibly they are understaffed which is a malady that many restaurants are suffering right now. Hopefully this improves. If you're after oceanfront dining Snooky's is a decent option, actually it's one of the very few available in North Myrtle Beach. If you're after good seafood go to the other location in Little River. read more

Was excited to return to Snookys as we enjoyed it last year. I ordered the flounder sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. I was served a piece of flounder as a platter. The flounder was greasy and looked very unappealing. I reminded the server that I had ordered the sandwich. She took it away and said she would take care of it. In the meantime, my companion had the shrimp & grits. It arrived with grits and shrimp but was missing the andouille sausage and cheese. She mentioned it to the server and instead of taking it back, the server brought out a small bowl of sausage in a cheese sauce for her to add to her bowl. So much for being served her meal correctly. About that time my fish sandwich was reserved. The kitchen had taken the same greasy piece of fish (that had the skin on) and placed it in a cold hoagie bun. The menu stated it was served on a toasted bun. The fish was cold and even greasier at this point as were the sweet potato fries. When our ticket arrived, I was charged for a seafood platter. We visited Snooky's on Sunday May 19 when the restaurant next to it did not acknowledge us when we sat down. We thought we were in for a better experience. We sat upstairs on the deck and ordered drinks fairly quickly. I'm never a fan of cocktails not having prices listed, but I was in the mood for one. I ordered the sangria, and it was tasty though had lots of ice... another thing I'm not a fan of... The waiter came and took our order and I asked for a blackened chicken salad; hubby got fried fish po boy. We also ordered some fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Here's where it went downhill... The appetizer came out with the meal and you could tell the person who prepped it had no intention of them looking appealing - thrown on a small plate, greasy and thin sliced. Taste was just ok. I'd pass on them. I specifically asked for blackened chicken and yet it came out just grilled. I caught one of the waiters who initially brought our food and told him mine was incorrect- he just stood there and said " oh ok you want more chicken?" and then left. Not feeling confident he was placing the order for correctly made chicken, I got our waiter and told him. I expected they would take off the now cold chicken and replace with fresh blackened chicken-but no. He returned my original salad with the grilled chicken and some blackened spices on top.. Jeez. Well I was hungry and ate it bc I just don't think they had it together enough to complain more.. For the price of the meal, we were hoping for that better experience we didn't get next door. I was on vacation here with a whole bunch of my friends and we wanted to try some seafood in the myrtle beach area. Our Uber driver recommended this place so we went! The service was alright, the server was actually great and handled 15 people very well so honestly she gets one star on this review. The other star for this review is all the specialty drinks were really good! They were running slow in the kitchen, and they did mention to tell us before we had ordered, so the honesty really made our experience a lot better. That's about where the good things end. I got the Mahi Oscar, it was one of the most expensive things on the menu and unfortunately it was one of the worst things I've ever had at any restaurant. Absolutely no flavor, the asparagus, the shrimp, the mahi mahi all tasted like it came out of a freezer and boiled. My friend who ordered the same thing also said the meal had NO flavor. When I told the manager, all she offered me for the terrible $30 meal was a free key lime pie. If you're looking for good seafood that's actually worth the price, then I would NOT recommend. read more
