Snorkel Bob's was our second stop after arriving on Maui. (The first was food haha) I'm so glad it was. We rented masks, fins, boogie boards, snorkels. Each of us got individual attention for fit and comfort--assuring that there would be no leaks or unnecessary discomfort. I liked that no-fog was included! We used the equipment off our condo's nearby beach every morning, and were so glad we went ahead and rented for the whole 2 weeks of our vacation. Snorkel Bob's is the best. You'll see signs all over Kihei and Maui for "Snorkel Gear - 1.50 a day!"... forget those. This was the second time I've rented from Snorkel Bob's and had a great experience. We rented two sets of the top of the line gear (they have 3 levels of snorkel gear, and 3 price ranges accordingly) which only cost us $70 total for the week. When you think about how much snorkeling you're going to be doing, it's well worth it to have good snorkel gear! They include the bottle of goop to keep your goggles from fogging up, and I recommend getting the waterproof pouch (it looks like a fanny pack!) to wear while you're out snorkeling with valuables in it. Nerdy, yes, but it's always safe to take precautions. It was only $5 for the week to rent and the peace of mind was worth it. The after-hours drop was convenient, and it was hassle free to exchange one set of flippers after a couple of days for a different size. read more

We always use Snorkel Bob's when we either can't bring our own gear to the island or we are getting gear for friends. This time we were getting fins, and arrived at the shop shortly before they opened at 8am. The worker was efficient enough, but she just seemed like she didn't want to be there and was rather antagonistic when I asked about things like water conditions and using reef shoes with the fins. But she did bring out my wallet when I left it on the counter, so she saved me much hassle! We will certainly be back, the gear is top-notch and returning it after hours is always a nice bonus. I just wish the clerk had been nicer. read more

We were looking for a snorkeling tour and the guy recommended Friendly Charters. We payed and scheduled the next day 6:30am. We were told the voucher, direction, and all the information that we need will be send to us in an email. Unfortunately we didn't get the email until the next day. We have to reschedule it for the following day. In addition, we were charged extra $20 for the food that they took on the boat for us, which is absolutely unfair. We have to pay the extra money and waste one day of vacation time because of their fault of not sending the voucher to us. read more

The snorkel bobs in Lahaina was much more accommodating. The one in Kihei charged my wife and I 25$ for dropping off our snorkel set an hour late. Hey everyone. I must say, I live on island and NEVER have I been treated with the upmost disrespect. The girl who answered the phone. needs to work on her phone skills and people skills. Especially with people who have memory disabilities. I struggle with words sometimes and I was thinking of the word cruises for forth of July. Instead of just double checking to see if she heard me correctly then give me the info I was asking for she explained to me, that she had to hang up on me now. If I could give negative stars I would. Amazing service at Azeka plaza Kihie fitted and out the door in about ten minutes we only had one day to snorkel as the surf was very high this past week asked for economy pkg and was not pressured to upgrade Women working there was the BEST ! Oh my god, absolutely amazing service. Sue is phenomenal. We arrived around 9am on Friday morning, and she was beyond helpful. She fitted my family and I perfectly with fins and masks, and she gave us so much information about the island. She was funny and genuine, and even though a few more guests walked in while we were being helped she didn't make us few rushed at all.
