The road trip (from Miami), fun time with friends and the stories - a perfect five stars!…read more I drove up this past Sunday for Patty's annual end of summer brunch UYE. It's always a pleasure to catch up with my friends from the 954 and 561 over tasty food and good drinks. Their blueberry mojito, of which I enjoyed a couple, was well blended and fairly strong. It was sweet enough to balance my savory and generously portioned Korean short rib hash. The mix of greens, including sweet potatoes, were fresh and tasty. I had asked for my egg to be runny with yolk but instead it was "well done". I ordered a couple of desserts to share with the table - the Thai donuts and pineapple brûlée. Both were just the right amount of sweet, enough to be enjoyed by the whole table, as well as having leftover for me. Other than the minor miscommunication with the egg, service was very pleasant and attentive. The reason why I take off one star, is in line with what my fellow diners mentioned about the extra fee. Trust me I do the same with Miami! There was already a service charge and like others noted was not crowded.

Love this place. Classy, incredible design, excellent chow, fine service... what's not to like…read more Dropped in for a couple of dishes and drinks at the bar. Turns out in the summer they offer a happy hour until 7pm. Gerard Bertrand Brut, Cremant de Limoux (8.0) was nice to sip on as I checked out the menu. That was followed later by Rutherford Hill Sauvignon Blanc (8.2). Both are great summer choices, on their HH. I love the Cha Gio, Crispy Shrimp & Pork Roll: Gulf Shrimp, Heritage Pork, Asian Mushrooms, Mint, Cilantro, Chili Lime Sauce (9.0). The Banh Uot, Sesame Beef Ravioli: Grilled Sesame Beef rolled in Flat Rice Noodles, with Cucumber, Lettuce, Basil & Lime Garlic Sauces (9.0) was also excellent. Love the silky texture of the pasta. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I've been wanting to try this spot for a while…read more It was very lively tonight. Dim lit lounge vibe. I love the decor. The table we had was small but manageable. The chairs were huge but would be more comfortable with pillows The maître d' was friendly. Kai was our server & she was wonderful I had the Tamarind sour which was Coconut fat washed Hennessy VS - I have no idea what that means but I know it was amazing! Very unique Kai informed they make this special in house as well as all of their syrups & purées We had the Pho & Pan seared chicken dumplings. This is the BEST pho I've ever had. Beef was tender. Broth was perfect. I will absolutely be coming back to try more. Kai was also very gracious and allowed us to take our time and finish our meals and conversation. We were the last people there about 15 minutes after they closed (lost track of time) and she didn't rush us or make us feel unwelcome. She let us enjoy while she worked on closing the restaurant. This is truly a unique gem on atlantic ave!

We sat outside, which…read morewas very quiet -- we were actually the only seated table out there, so it made for a calm dinner. Our server was great, knew the menu well, gave solid recommendations, and was very helpful throughout the night. We ordered the salmon tataki, tuna tacos, rock shrimp, the messy roll, and the baked crab and spinach salad (not all pictured). Everything was good and came out nicely prepared. Would we rush back? Probably not necessarily, but we'd definitely come again with a group of friends who haven't tried it before. Overall, a solid spot with good service and good food

I've had the truffle bombs before and loved them, but this time they were off. The toro (tuna belly) was just meh--lacking the richness and flavor you'd expect. The Wagyu was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium and was overwhelmingly salty. The halibut was probably the best dish of the night, but the portion was shockingly small--maybe 3 oz at best. The Japanese mushrooms were so salty they were essentially inedible. Even the espressos arrived lukewarm. Both the mushrooms and espressos were comp'd--a $15 adjustment--which felt insignificant given the overall experience. The only real highlights were the drinks: a Caymus Sauvignon Blanc that was excellent, along with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and Frangelico. After spending $850 (including tip) for three people, this experience was a major disappointment. Sadly, we won't be returning.

The ambiance is a little stale, but this place is great for a casual meal. Very large menu too, which took a long time to read through. We shared a sushi boat that was beautiful, fresh and delicious. There was more than enough food for the both of us, coming with side salads. Our waiter pointed out the wahoo ceviche, salmon, tuna, rolls... our friends enjoyed their noodle dishes that were plated beautifully with an edible flower. Unfortunately, no one came back to check on us or refill our water glasses. We weren't rushed, but we did have to ask for our check. Our meal was reasonable ; less than $30 per person, including tax & a Saturday tip.
