Gorgeous place, phenomenal service and every dish I've had is absolutely delicious!! Shaking Beef is the best entree. Should've taken more photos prior to dessert.

Le Colonial slipped a bit since I was last here 5 months ago. Had the lychee martini (not very good at all at 1/5 stars), beef ravioli (3/5 stars), chicken curry (4/5 stars), garlic noodles (5/5 stars), and shaking beef (4/5 stars). The service was friendly, but not very helpful this time. The waiter confessed he was newer, which clearly showed in his lack of ability to properly recommend the best dishes. He clearly seemed to either not have tried enough of the dishes himself to authentically recommend one, or simply didn't remember the full menu. I also voiced how much I didn't like my cocktail that he recommended (I actually said it was terrible), yet nobody offered to replace it with another. I enjoyed dinner only because of the company of friends I was with, but unfortunately this will no longer be my must-have when I'm in town.

I used to go to the Chicago location a lot, so I know the chow is excellent and was excited to see they opened in Delray. It's taken a while, but finally stepped into the place. Was in the area on the early side so was great to be able to check out their happy hour and enjoy the bar. This place is very impressive, amazing ambiance... the bar, the dining room, the terrace... all fantastic. Sat at the bar and enjoyed a perfectly made Margarita, served straight up. So enjoyable sitting at this elegant bar. Ordered the Pork and Shrimp Rolls, fantastic! The Ribs were good, but a little fattier than I like. Love the super hot towel served after the ribs, needed it! Austin Hope Chardonnay, very nice. Service was excellent. I don't typically post menus... included this HH menu as it's not easy to find online. HH in the bar only from 4-6 M-F. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Came here for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed the experience. Le Colonial has a chic, upscale vibe with a cool lounge area to grab cocktails while you wait. The French Kiss cocktail was fantastic. We sat outside under palms, twinkle lights, and white tablecloths, which was charming. The outside area is shielded from the street view, but not from some of the noise of loud motorcycles or mufflers. Shared apps: the tuna tartare was delicious but tiny (not ideal for sharing), and the cha go were flash fried with a nice crisp and not greasy. The chicken dumplings were good. The Le Colonial salad was dotted with pomegranate seeds. For mains, the sea bass was excellent with a light, flavorful sauce. The whole grouper was sold out as was the other fish dish we contemplated ordering. The Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef) had good flavor but felt a little overdone in presentation on a bed of greens. Our vegan friend was happy with the vegetable tofu curry, which packed a lot of flavor. Another diner enjoyed the beef stir fry adjusted in heat to his liking. Dessert highlight: the beignets with 3 dipping sauces. Don't miss them! Skip the pineapple upside-down cake, which was heavy on the alcohol. Overall: stylish spot with creative cocktails, great atmosphere, and some standout dishes. Perfect for a celebratory night out in Delray. Indoor and outdoor seating and a nice bar/lounge area. Parking is available (if you're lucky) on the street or through nearby valet ($15 if you get the ticket validated by one of the restaurants).

We had an incredible night at Le Colonial. The ambiance is beautiful and the food and service were impeccable. We shared a few small plates and then tried the sea bass and a special for dinner. Finished the evening with a Vietnamese coffee.

The Vietnamese food was delicious. The beef stir fry was spicy and superb. The soft music was relaxing after a stressful day of shopping with family. The waiter was friendly and polite . Great restaurant to try out .

What an unforgettable NYE dinner! From start to finish, every dish was flavorful leaving us wanting more. From the lobster bisque and Wagyu carpaccio to the beef short rib and lobster garlic noodles, we were in awe! How can every dish be delicious? Well done! 1 star off for parking difficulty, and feeling rushed the entire night. We get it's a busy night but wanting to clear plates before we finished was annoying. Decor was minimal but classy! (See photo) love music was only for the late seating 9pm-12. So another bummer! We learned these items are not on the regular menu so may be worth trying again to see if the daily menu lives up!

Great vibe and beautiful atmosphere both inside and outside. We sat outside. Service was excellent. The food was all really good--Suon Nuong/GLAZED PORK RIBS was 4 meaty ribs w/good flavor, Do Bien Tai Chanh/SEAFOOD CEVICHE was tasty & spicy but not too hot and very fresh, and the Cari Tom/GREEN SHRIMP CURRY was also really good (5 shrimp) and not too spicy. Portions are a tad on the small size for the prices but they make up for it in all other ways. We each enjoyed a martini as you can see in pics as well as the appetizers.

Food was absolutely delicious . The shared plates are the winners here. Exploding with flavor. Egg rolls were a must ! Traditional Thai dishes that were authentic and true to the heritage . main dishes are bit pricey but the tender beef was worth it. Drinks were unique but mostly gin forward which is not my personal go to Service was very attentive and courteous. The ambiance was impressive but we were seated in what felt like a an entry way to the exterior . Maybe not over tabled but the decor overall was very chic and appropriate. The vibe in the bar area was very cool and live music entertaining

This was my second dine at Le Colonial, and in some respects, I was less impressed than the first. I'm not fully down on the restaurant, but experienced a meal which was somewhat amateurishly "presented", an expression that they use to describe the Le Colonial "experience". Our server, "N", was sweet, but not engaged in servicing our table after she took the order. And her explanations of some of the dishes were not what we got to eat. Now to the food, the appetizers of cha gio and chicken dumplings were outstanding. No doubt that I WOULD ORDER THOSE AGAIN. Two of the three main plates were disappointing, very disappointing. The chicken curry had a scant amount of chicken, and the vegetables were soft. THE CURRY WAS NOT MILD, AS i requested, and its flavor overwhelmed the dish, although as stated, there was little chicken to overwhelm. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, even if a curry lover. THE GREEN SHRIMP CURRY was equally disappointing. THE SHRIMP WERE SMALLISH, TOUGH TO EAT, much chewing required AND AGAIN THE CURRY overwhelmed the dish. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AND WOULD NOT RE-ORDER, ESPECIALLY at $35. The stand-out hit was the BRONZINO. A WHOLE FISH, filet in the kitchen, after being shown to us table-side. IT WAS MEATY, TASTY, COOKED TO PERFECTION, AND EVEN AT $57, would be my reason to return. Two people can easily share the bronzino, two appetizers, and one dessert, and be quite satisfied. THE MARTINIS WERE WELL MADE, AND THE BAR SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED FOR their perfect mixology. AND RETURNING TO SERVICE, i had to ask for a bowl for the bones in the bronzino, and the banana wrapper for the sticky rice. When it did not come, i put the bon es and banana leaf on the table, which was unappealing, for sure. The host or perhaps the manager on duty at the entry upon arrival and departure was abrupt, no smile or half a smile, made no eye contact, While their role is not to entertain guests arrival but perhaps a bit of a welcome or good night when you depart? And let me not forget, when making the reservation on Open Tab;e I specified that one of the diners was having her 80th birthday, and when calling the afternoon of our reservation I was told that they had a note in the reservation about the birthday, and a candle would be placed in whatever dessert we ordered and the plate would be chilled, with Happy Birthday. Well, none of that happened. Some break in communications between the staff. Disappointing "performance on their behalf." Would I return? YES. But with much lower expectations and a better idea of the menu.

The lychee martini was delicious . We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food other than the beignets which were good but I would not call them beignets. They were more like churros in a doughnut shape. Covered in cinnamon and sugar with dipping sauces normal beignets don't have cinnamon.

    Fileting the snapper table side

High price, low value! I was unimpressed with every dish. The decor is gorgeous, no question about that. If this $400+ meal was $150, I wouldn't have felt so violated. The snapper was $100. The server fileted it tableside and talked the entire time. I could see his spit land on the fish. There was nothing special about the preparation. I've had whole snapper in many places for a fraction of the price that were more tasty. The apps were ok, but did not resemble anything I recall being Vietnamese. It's yuppified and you pay for that. The shrimp ceviche was terrible. A $25 boring run-of-the-mill martini? No thanks. Oh, and I asked for the jasmine rice to be substituted for the coconut rice. The portion they served was for one even though the snapper was intended for 2. They upcharged me $8. The food came out very fast! They push you so they have more turnover. I will never return.

Do they have valet parking? If so, how much?

They have valet parking which I believe was $25 and when validated was $10 less. Depending on time and day of week you can find on street parking.

That being said the staff there is so rude. It basically ruined the entire experience. I made a last-minute reservation online and there were tons of spaces left. I had a bit of a drive to get there and I actually got there much sooner than I expected. I thought it would be better to make a later reservation rather than an earlier one which I might be late for. However, I got there a good 15 minutes early before my reservation. There were lots of seats, but the hostess was so snobby. She told me since I was early she would see me closer to my reservation. Closer... I'm only 15 minutes early so you're gonna see me at the time of the reservation? Meanwhile, I could've booked something for 15 minutes earlier thought it was available. So I stood there and waited with lots of empty tables until finally. It was the time of my reservation and magically one of those tables that have been open. They finally sat at. Excited to be able to eat... The waitress comes over who is also extremely rude. She starts telling me that I'm in her way to do her job. I'm not doing anything I just sat down. She later pseudo apologizes, but not really. Ultimately, she could've found a much nicer way to address the issue she was having. Or since there were plenty of open tables, maybe she could've asked the hostess to put us in a different section but now I had this waitress all evening. She was running around a little frantic and seemed a little flustered, even though there weren't that many people there so I don't know. The look of the place is kind of charming, but the rudeness of the entire staff kind of ruins it. But I go back? Maybe. The food wasn't amazing, but it is a local spot and it was good enough to return to- but certainly would have to keep in mind that the service does really take it down two or three notches.

I tend to make friends with staff at places I frequent. It just happens. Location-wise, it's just around the corner from E Atlantic Ave, which makes it easy to get to without being overrun by the tourist crowds that stick strictly to the Ave. This most recent visit was just for drinks and, surprisingly, dessert (rare sweet tooth moment). I asked what they had and immediately went with the mochi ice cream--no regrets. Good presentation, simple, did not fall apart, tastes good. Price and portion was a plus 2) Salmon Carpaccio ($12)- comes with 5 pieces, topped with fried garlic and yuzu/truffle oil. I barely tasted truffle and I would think it would have came with more pieces, at least 6-8. Overall, tasted good 3) Beef short rib skewer ($9)- comes with 2 skewers of bite size pieces was underwhelming, a bit pricey.
