I kicked things off with an Irish coffee and the pecan sticky bun. Both were perfect. The sticky bun was warm, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet--not overwhelming at all. We had a few vegans in our group that were very happily surprised with the options for food here! And the meat eaters were also very happy! Our only complaint was that the salmon on the Benedict's was smashed up and gave cat food vibes. Would have been much better and appealing if they were long cuts of salmon instead. Came here for breakfast almost every single day I cam here. Servers are so friendly, there's space (but normally has a wait unless you sit at the bar or come early), and food portions are HUGE. Coffee is very solid here too. Will definitely visit again! read more

It's tourist season, so the place is packed, service is slow, and ambiance is loud. They also changed some menu items...most problematic for me is the crabby omelet, which is now loaded with bacon and tomatoes and yucky sauce and an $8 price increase. The original crabby omelet had been my go-to for years and was delightful in its simplicity. So there goes my reason to eat at Snow City, despite the long waits and no ventilation and no A/C and crowded dining room and only two bathrooms and high prices. Food is yummy comfort food! Mac n cheez is perfect!! In every way! Grilled cheese w/tomato soup was everything you remember from childhood. Sour dough bread is fluffy and crunchy at the same time. This place such a great brunch spot! It was my first time visiting Alaska and I was so happy to find a wonderful local spot that served even better food. The Alaskan crab cakes were perfectly sweet and savory with the most amazing hollandaise sauce and the perfect poached egg. I was skeptical about waiting when we arrived to a full restaurant and waiting area, with additional people outside. But we took a walk around the block and stopped by the overlook about a block away while we waited, so it didn't seem that long. I am glad we waited because the food and drink were worth it. I had the Kobuk Samovar tea and it was so good we sought out the shop later to buy some tea to take home. My husband and I shared the Nuevo Huevos and the baked goods sampler platter. The former was super delicious and I would 100% order again. The later was good but I would probably go for just the pecan bun or try the cinnamon roll if I was doing it again. We like hot sauces so we were pleased by the hot sauce selection and community feel - if you bring a hot sauce to add to the collection you get a discount. Super awesome spot in downtown Anchorage. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly. I loved the decor inside and their shelf of hot sauces from customers. The food was delicious - I had the Tundra scramble because I was craving reindeer sausage and it truly hit the spot. It paired well with the antioxidant smoothie, which was sweet, but not too sweet! We strolled in at 7:40 and waited about ~10 minutes in line to put our names on a waiting list and wait another 30ish minutes or so. Our server was absolutely amazing and attentive even though the place was absolutely packed. I had the OMG French toast and I don't think I liked the filling but would have just enjoyed the normal French toast much more (but I'm a sucker for anything candied bacon). My husband had the breakfast sandwich which he very much enjoyed! I also had a Pineapple Express smoothie which was phenomenal! Overall I really enjoyed the fast paced vibe in the restaurant but I also think it was just a little too much for me this morning and I didn't necessarily enjoy my meal. My wife and I were in town for a vacation. We went here for breakfast, and we lucked out because they sat a table for two quicker than bigger parties. I had their crabcake benedict (I can't remember the name of the dish), my wife had their loaded hashbrowns. During this visit was my first time having a "sludge cup" (drip coffee with a double shot of espresso), I've always heard it described as a black eye. I really like potatoes, especially hashbrowns (even the frozen ones) and I got to say that their fresh hashbrowns were thick and crispy, probably some of the best hash browns I've ever had. Their food came out really quick, and their coffee was good. They also have a bunch of hot sauce options. Snow City Cafe is a great an popular breakfast spot in downtown anchorage. It's very busy and you should definitely get on the wait list online before showing up to reserve your spot so you don't have to wait their for 45 minutes or longer. You can check your place on the list online and head there when you're close. (Plus you'll get a text when your table is ready.) That's what we did and didn't have to wait at all once we were notified and arrived at the restaurant. If you do find yourself waiting there for a table, fear not, they offer coffee to people waiting to be seated which is fantastic. There are also games and sidewalk chalk to keep you busy. It's a fun spot with plenty to choose from for every diet. Vegetarian and gluten free items are labeled on the menu so you'll feel like a first class citizen if you have one of those diets. They're also very flexible - Everytime my wife asked a question that began with "can you..." the answer was always "yes." The drip coffee could have been stronger for my tastes...definitely a few steps above the "browned water" some places server, but I like a coffee that is so bold it slaps me in the face at the first sip. (I'm sure our server would have slapped me had I asked...she was VERY accommodating.) I had the 2 egg breakfast with a biscuit as my side. They also offer Beyond Sausage as an option for meat-free folks. The hashbrowns were among the most attractive I've seen, cooked all the way through albeit a little bit too oily on the inside. They cook their biscuits on the grill after baking - I prefer them just baked as they get a little too dense and greasy when you add the grill step. My wife really loved the veggie benedict she got. And we felt like we kept getting free upgrades...I had egg whites with my breakfast and they didn't charge us the printed charge for that. My wife ordered just half a benedict (Our server said they could "halve" anything which is a great option to have) - They brought her a full serving and only charged for the half. They also didn't charge for the biscuit upgrade as my bread option. My wife also really liked her decaf espresso and was happy to have a coffee drink suitable to her preferences. I wish they jams they brought with the biscuit didn't have sugar as the first ingredient...a nice house-made jam, or selection of jams beyond the one packet they brought (and maybe something just fruit based) would have been better. The pancakes we saw at another table looked out of control (huge and the person eating it confirmed they were delicious.) I'd give 4 stars to the food with 5 for the overall experience, attention to detail and general thoughtfulness exhibited. read more

We initially put our name down via the Yelp waitlist but managed to grab bar seating (first-come-first-served) before our estimated wait time. We ordered to go on a Wednesday 8 am morning and the wait for the food ended up being about 30 min though they told us 10 min. The restaurant was already packed with a 40 min wait time by 8 am! No one really knew how long it was taking which was kind of annoying. Turns out they actually text you when the food is ready, which the employees didn't tell us when I asked for a status update twice.The eggs benedict on Canadian bacon was not very good at all, 3/5.
