Disneyland revamped the classic Snow White ride a few years ago, and this new version is so much better! If you're a fan of Disneyland's Fantasyland dark rides, Snow White's Enchanted Wish is one of those attractions that feels like stepping into the storybook itself, and that's exactly the intention. You hop into a little wooden mine cart and glide along a track through a series of scenes retelling the animated film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." This ride is just magical, complete with glowing jewel mines, the cozy dwarfs' cottage, and even a spooky dungeon and spell room with the Evil Queen's bubbling potions (and a couple of unlucky skeletons). The update Disney gave this ride a few years back really leans into bright, warm visuals and modern effects. Think more shimmering lights, cool projections, new animated moments that feature the kinds of details that make you smile without you even realizing it. It's a far cheerier experience than its older incarnations, and the brick facade outside now looks colorful and welcoming. Disney has made this attraction more fairy tale than haunted castle, which is great news for little ones. The story pacing is smooth with a clear beginning, middle, and happy ending (finally)! Unlike the earlier versions that had no real closure, this one actually gives you the "happily ever after" vibe Disney loves. I think Snow White's Enchated Wish aka Snow White's Scary Adventures is a slept on ride no pun intended. Another one of those rides, I don't really need to go on, but if there's a lull in our day and the lines are short or if it's hot, then we'll get on this one. L O C A T I O N Snow White's Enchanted Wish is located in Fantasy Land, if you go straight through the castle and hug left, you'll see it. L I N E S The lines for this ride can get long, but it's not as long as Peter Pan's ride. I generally find folks avoiding this ride and it's usually less than 10 minutes to get on. What I find interesting is the width of the lanes of the line and the turnstile. They're a bit narrower than other rides especially when it comes to the turnstile. R I D E It's a dark suite ride. You hop into a mobile that take you through darkened rooms with black light and you go through the story of Snow White. I think the rename is appropriate as the word "scary" can deter folks though there are some scary elements but if you've watched Snow White, then you know what the story is about. O V E R A L L It's one of those chill rides. No huge jostling. It's dark and cool if you want a little respite from the heat. If you think your kid cannot handle the movie or "scary" scenes with the witch, then you should stay away. Otherwise, it's one of the classics though recently updated of course. read more

Snow White's Enchanted Wish is such a fun ride at Disneyland! I truly hope this ride lives on past my lifetime, as its one of the few opening day rides still in operation. Yep, this ride is older than your mama because it was birthed in 1955. That's wild and I hope they preserve it forever! I know it's not fancy and schmancy, but it's such a solid, classic dark ride! It's honestly one of my favorites and so underrated with it usually having a shorter line than the other rides in Fantasyland. Y'all use that 15 minute wait to your advantage and enjoy this fun ride. Pro-Tip: if you're an adult who enhances life, you're really going to love this. The colors of the diamonds in the tunnel with purple diamonds in Dopey's eyes staring back at you? Magic and happiness! Even though this ride has been open 70 years (happy bday disneyland!), it went through a freshening up in 2021 adding pie smells and a dancing Snow White. Listen, I'm not going to pretend I liked the more scary version better. However, I do support less children crying in terror while at Disneyland so the taming down of the Evil Queen is okay by me. GETTING HERE: This attraction is located in Fantasyland across from Peter Pan. REVIEW: I love the dark rides at the Park! I'll never understand why the line for Peter Pan is sometimes triple for Snow White, but it is what it is. If you're looking for a quiet break and a place to rest your feet, Snow White's your best bet. The entire ride is quite short, but the line usually goes very fast and you can be in and out pretty quickly. A hidden gem ride in Disney that many don't go on or know about & it don't get enough credit for how good it is. It's, cool, creepy & cute especially when you see Dopey. Shows all the characters & the plot of the story. A short but nice ride to enjoy. If the lines seem long don't worry it moves pretty fast. This is now a fully updated attraction and it is less scary than Snow White's Scary Adventures now called Snow White's Enchanted Wish. This new version has enchanted features like twinkling stars and gorgeous animatronics too. It is a more complete story too. It still has its scary elements like the old version like the wicked queen turning into a wicked witch and you see Snow White taking a bite of the apple while the mirror smashes to bits. There is a longer section with the drawfs as them come to the rescue of Snow White and the prince who kisses Snow White in the end. Worth checking out; I think people will enjoy the changes. It was a 22 minute wait to get on the ride. For us it was worth the wait. While in line waiting, we were planning what ride to go on next, where to eat and what to eat. We always make the most of our time when waiting in line to get on a ride. We plan our visit for the day. We arrived at 8:50am and left at 1am. We make changes in between depending on the wait times on the app. It's never a dull moment with us and wait seems to be faster than usual. Snow White's Enchanted Wish Ride is a must ride. So cute! This ride takes you through the cottage of Snow White and the seven dwarves. You get to see the inside of the cottage with the dwarves and animals. Then you will see all the pretty gemstones that the dwarves are mining in the tunnel! They are super pretty. But the ride takes a turn... And it becomes dark and mysterious as you enter the chambers of the evil queen! You find her in her chambers up to no good- creating the poisonous apple that will put Snow White under a sleeping spell. I was delighted with the opportunity to ride Snow White's enchanted wish. Again. this is a ride where the front passenger has more leg room than the back passenger. I loved seeing parts of the book as shown in the movie and the tower in which the evil queen had locked her up. The ride vehicles are named after the different dwarves. You basically are going through the enchanted forest and then later see the evil queen transform before your eyes into the ugly old crone bent on her destruction. Snow White is tricked into eating the poison apple until her prince comes along and rescues her with love's first kiss. The attraction which used to be known as Snow White's scary adventures has been much toned down so as not to frighten small children with continually appearances by the old hag. You can see a model of this hag in the museum housing "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln." It is a delightful and pleasant ride for family. The Magic Kingdom counterpart: The Snow White ride was scrapped years ago to make room for one of it hottest attractions-The 7 dwarfs mine train. This is an extremely popular children and teen thrill mine coaster ride and you can expect long waits for it. Since it is a totally different attraction I really can't compare it here. I don't remember riding Snow White's Enchanted Wish prior to the most recent revamp so I'm not sure if at one point the entire ride was similar to the last section with the toys - but I really wish more of the ride was to that level of physical care and design. The 'jewels' look bad, straight up bad and several of the more modernized sections just don't mesh with the older styles. I personally don't think the ride is particularly dark (Pinocchio to me is unrideable) but I do think that for such a famous piece of Disney history, they could have put more time into creating physical pieces instead of relying on light shows and holograms as their updates. That being said, at the end of the day I'm glad we could ride it after the most recent revamp, but it's not a ride I'd wait in line for, so make sure you hit it during early entry. read more

You can hold your breath during this ride and you'll make it out A-OK. what I mean is that the ride is super short. There's a big chunk of the ending missing. Suddenly at the end Snow White is ok and they're all living happily ever after. I'm like oh ok if you say so. Cool! read more

Is it different? I can't tell, or remember. It's still a short, pleasant romp through a storybook retelling of the Snow White legend and, *gasp!*, she still gets kissed at the end. While asleep. Yeah, I'm sure that's going to get a few sensitive Karens' knickers in a twist. Don't expect an adrenalin rush here: less "whoa's" and "wow's", and more "ooh's" and "aww's" instead. The ride's been updated, so there's going to be a bit of a wait. It didn't take more than 15 minutes for us (around 10-11 AM). The witch doesn't randomly show up and spook you as much, but there are more technological updates with the screens. More of Snow White's story for sure and you get a happy ending that is not so abrupt. Definitely not so spooky for younger children. I'm not sure if this was added, but while waiting in line for Peter Pan, we could see the Evil Queen gaze out of the top floor window and close the curtain. read more

My wife and I had a good time when we went on this Snow White ride. The wait was around 15 minutes so usually this ride doesn't have a long wait time unlike Peter Pan. They have some stuff that you can look at while you're in line like a book, wishing well and etc. The ride itself isn't that long, I believe it's about almost a 3 minute ride. The operator was very nice to us, when it was our turn I asked if my wife can sit in the front and me in the back. They allowed that and our adventure began. Aww, wished I got to ride the original version to get an idea on what the kids were frightened of? Supposedly, it was super dark, scary with loud ominous music? Welp, I guess I'll be reviewing this updated version. Eh, the ride isn't as dark and scary. However, it does move pretty fast and so the odds of capturing good pictures and videos were slim to none. I do like that the fast-moving speed cooled me down a little bit when it was still warm outside, lol! The parts that I was able to see looked pretty good (such as Snow and the Seven Dwarves dancing and singing inside the cottage, the Wicked Queen in her hag persona when the animatronic turned around, some forest animals, etc). I also liked, when waiting in line, you can see Snow White's bedroom. Guests can make a little wish there and throw down money. I made an internal wish with good thought and intentions towards work and it came true. I didn't have any coins with me at that moment, but upon the next return, I'll be visiting Snow White's Enchanted Wish again... Short and sweet ride, showcasing Snow White got her happy ending. When I heard that Disneyland was going to revamp Snow White in 2020, I decided to at least ride this ride in its original state one more time while my family and I was visiting Disneyland for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Snow White's Scary Adventures is located in Fantasyland, across from Peter Pan. It has a nice wait line where you can first enter to wait the ride, see Snow White's "golden book", view the wicked Queens's dungeon, and then wait in-line. This ride does not have a fast pass. Typically wait times are usually between 10-20 minutes on busy days. Snow White ride takes you through a quick version of the Snow White movie. It shows Snow White and the Dwarves, the dark forest, the wicked queen, and dwarves/queen.The ride itself is relatively dark, and with a few scary parts in it. My daughter enjoyed it, even when she was 3 years old. It's a great classic ride. read more

The newly renovated Snow White's Enchanted Wish took the horror aspect of the previous scary adventure out, and injected plenty of magic, sparkle, and romance into the now much more family-oriented dark ride. Sad to say, the original aspect to inviting guests to experience the first-hand terrifying vision and perspective of the fair princess is 100% gone; and what's left in its place is an equally entertaining, albeit more direct and by-the-book narration of the classic Disney fairy tale. This isn't necessarily bad. This is, by default, a different experience; but one can appreciate both versions to their fullest--just give it a chance. I am no Disneyland expert, but purely from my memory, I feel like at least 50% of the previous rendition has been modified, or completely outrooted and replaced. (Like the trees in the forest scene, get it?) I am happy to report the magic mirror physical special effect is retained in place, because c'mon, that's a classic. But funnily enough, in my most recent visit, this bugged out and I saw Evil Queen spinning non-stop in place in the "mirror". Haha. Funny. Due to the new additional scenes, the plot is more fleshed out, with a proper beginning and a proper ending. Previously, it's a common consensus that the story ends abruptly with the death of the Old Hag, and bam! The ride ends without explanation or a sense of expected closure. Now it's all fixed. This is probably a welcoming change for the core audience of the themed land, mostly young children, because now they will actually understand the narrative... You know, instead of their wondering why the parents are putting them through a haunted house adjacent experience. For the handful of kids who would be crying post-ride otherwise, this is now more of a treat than an unexpected punishment. Visually, a lot more colors and lights are added to unmistakably uplift the tone from one of hopelessness and fear to cheers and triumph. What I admire the Imagineers the most about this project is the use of new animatronics and LED lights. The mining scene, similar to one installed in Florida's Snow White coaster (never mind the official name, lol), illustrates state-of-the-art technology and its ability to bring our beloved Seven Dwarfs to life. The myriad gem stones and their colors make the tunnel scene one of the best and most memorable of the ride. Later in the ride, the "kiss of true love" moment is incredibly elevated from the use of LITERALLY many, many tiny lights, lit up sequentially at just the right moment, illuminating a pitch dark space into a bright and wholesome visual feast for your eyes in a matter of seconds. In fact, this captures the essence of Disney magic quite accurately all in one place: princess, rebirth, happiness, and of course, love conquers all. This is a ride I would want my kids to experience and remember for life. But worth the wait? The queue for this ride itself is pretty boring, not gonna lie. You are standing pretty close to one another in a snake line, (which isn't ideal during a pandemic, but it is outdoor for the most part, and ventilated enough), and your only view is each other, the immediate surrounding of Fantasyland, and that one time you turn a corner, Snow White's bedroom/quarter. I wouldn't call this immersive, though understandable since this is an old, classic ride. For me, I waited an actual 30 to 35 minutes with my then boyfriend, and we both ended up on our phones to pass time. (On busy days, I heard the wait can climb beyond 1 hour! And that's, for sure, too much effort for a relatively short ride, imo.) As such, I feel this would be a terrible wait for single riders, and I would recommend all others plenty of phone battery for web surfing, app playing, or be prepared to do plenty of talking with each other. This is the main reason why Snow White scored 4 stars instead of 5. As of my last visit, there is no fast pass, lightning lane, or genie service available. (I don't really keep up with all these jump-the-line features anymore.) So you HAVE TO put in your time for your reward that is the dark ride. Aside from that, the upgrades now make this Snow White attraction one of the best, if not THE BEST, in Fantasyland. It's definitely on par with the ranks of other renovated fan favorites like Alice In Wonderland and Peter Pan. I would not miss this dazzling gem, especially for those who would only visit Disneyland once or infrequently. Just make sure to plan ahead and budget your time wisely among all your activities. read more

Compared to other rides, this could appear to be dated depending on your tastes. To me, it was ok and not as bad as say Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. I did it and likely won't again. Worth trying once. Smaller children might not like the ride. There are dark parts and some potentially scarier parts that may or may not scare your child. Essentially this is a ride form of the Snow White story with some points being more prominent than others. Even if you're not a fan of Snow White or don't know anything about it, you can appreciate parts of the ride. This is one of Disney's darker rides located in Fantasyland. Definitely not one of my favorites, but my daughter and I have ducked in to jump on the ride many times because of it's often short lines to get off our feet and out from the heat (or cold). You basically board your dwarf named vehicle and go for a quick ride through the Dwarf's cottage then onto the Queen's castle. Once there you see the Queen standing before her magic mirror on the wall quickly flip and face riders who has completely changed into the wicked witch. Then it's off through the dungeon filled with skeleton bones and onto the menacing forest. You get the picture. The bad witch keeps popping out on every twist and turn on the ride from there on out. Not exactly a young tot friendly ride. Surprisingly this ride has never scared my daughter and we've taken her on it since she was two, but I definitely do not recommend it for other younger tots. With this ride being taken out of Disney World for being 'too scary for kids,' I was very interested to try it out when I learned that Disneyland still has this ride. Also because Snow White is one of my favorite Disney films, so off I went. I have noticed that there is almost a little pattern with how the Fantasyland rides are set up. You step in a gondola and go through the storyline of whatever the ride is based off of. I don't think we necessarily need 5 rides in the park with the same feel, but at least the lines are typically short for these. Going through the ride, you go through all of the big plot points of Snow White. You can tell the ride is a little dated with the scenery, but it's still cute and considered a classic. I can also see how this could easily scare kids with the evil queen and the trees. I enjoyed this ride and would love to hop on it again. Date of visit: January 23, 2016 Shrek: "Dead girl OFF the table!" Seven Dwarves: "But where are we going to put her?" It had been a very long while since my girlfriend and I had been on Snow White's Scary Adventures, and as we'd been through most of the park, we figured it was time to revisit this dark ride in Fantasyland and find out how Snow White ended up like that in Shrek. It was about a twenty minute wait to get in - much shorter than the wait for Peter Pan Flight or Alice In Wonderland; not too shabby for one of Disneyland's older attractions. I was surprised at, well, how dark this ride was - pretty much the only part where you get the warm and fuzzies is at the beginning, when the seven dwarves are performing for Snow White. Everything else follows the Wicked Queen Grimhilde and her plans for Snow White, as well as her comeuppance. (Aside: betcha didn't know Grimhilde's her real name! If you thought it was Regina, you've been watching one too many episodes of Once Upon a Time.) Like Pinocchio, this attraction can be a bit scary for the little ones, but unlike that ride, you don't see the happy ending... unless you count the painting on the wall at the end showing Snow White, Prince Charming, and the dwarves getting their happy ever after.
