We stopped in to pick up lunch while staying in our rv at margaritaville! My husband had the Bayou…read morecombo and I had the Cajun combo his had the fried chicken Boudin, red beans and rice. I had a bite of his red beans and rice and they were amazing. I had fried chicken coleslaw and rice. All of it was so good. The chicken was so juicy!!!! everyone in there was very nice. Yes it'll take a little bit, but this is home-cooked food when you order it so don't complain about it. I also bought some spices, jalapeño sausage, Cajun Boudin!! And don't forget to get "The Hulk" drink! (A little sweet but gooood)

When on a road trip, friends and I always tend to stop by Chicken on the Bayou & Boudin Shop…read more It's a simple spot to stop in on if you want to either pick up some sustenance while on the road. Ambiance: 3/5 Parking is in front and next to the gas station. Once inside, there's table seating inside with ordering done at the front Restrooms could use an upgrade, but help get the job done. Food: 5/5 I looked over the menu and decided to try the Bayou Sampler. Comes with 2PC chicken (your choice dark or white meat or for extra cost can get mixed), red beans & rice, boudin link & biscuit. All had good flavor, except the biscuit, it was ok. Chicken wasn't greasy but moist with flavor. Red beans also very tasty and boudin link just as good. Service: 5/5 The counter server was friendly and so were the cooks, while it did take a while to get my food, it's cooked to order so that's understandable. Once I got my food, I wanted to take a photo and realized that my order was missing the chicken. Thankfully I had not left before checking it (rule of thumb for any to go order, check your food) The counter server was quick to speak to the kitchen and they brought out my full plate in short time.

Sydnie Mae, named after Sydnie Mae Durand, is the best restaurant in Breaux Bridge…read more Also, Sydnie Mae is related to me. Well, if you believe my mom's theory that anyone named Durand is related to us. To be fair, I have already found one actual relative using this exact logic, so who knows about ol' SMD. Anyway, this place is insanely popular, requires reservations, and there is a reason for that. The food is awesome. Gumbo? Awesome. Etouffee? Awesome. Steaks? Damn great. The pork chop? Hell yes. And then there is the Breaux Bread. Get away from me, Satan. That stuff is way too good. Like, lawd have mercy, why would you do this to me good. They also usually have live music on the weekends, often a solo singer, and every time we have been the music has been great. It adds to the whole atmosphere without taking over the room. The staff is super fun, the cocktails are great, they have a really good bourbon selection, and the wine list is better than you might expect. This is not some little place surviving because it happens to be in Breaux Bridge. Sydnie Mae is a legitimately great restaurant that would be great anywhere. If you find yourself in the Breaux, get to Sydnie Mae. And if anyone happens to know whether Sydnie Mae Durand is actually related to me, let me know. My mom is probably already convinced.

Possibly my favorite restaurant ever. Definitely my favorite in Louisiana! I will never forget…read morewalking around downtown Breaux Bridge as we were traveling back home from Baton Rouge. I saw this bustling restaurant in an old downtown building with live music and martinis and cocktails galore. I knew I had to eat there one day. Our first time eating there was while camping at Cajun Palms. It exceeded my expectations. As years have passed, I realize I'm not the only one who thinks this restaurant is amazing.
