This place has really good halo halo. The ice is the consistency of shaved snow, which is way better than shaved ice. They put a huge scoop of ube ice cream, which is creamy and delicious. I've also tried their green passion acai bowl. I love how fresh the fruit toppings are, but the acai base melts very quickly. The Kauai ice cream is really good too. It tasted like mocha almond fudge except it has macadamia instead of almonds. Service is good. The store has a few chairs and tables available for dine in. read more

Short of people, we went there and took almost an hour fpr 2 orders,, also missing some ingredients/toppings to their items like a haupia that missing a cookie and a ube macapuno that just literraly shaved ice and grated coconut that missing white choco chip that part of the item.. there was another lady ordered the strawberry and missing the straberry toppings?! I've had Snowflakes many times over the years and I've never been disappointed in the taste and quality of their frozen desserts. Every time I'm in the area, I have their halo-halo or a pitaya bowls and I've been completely satisfied with the flavor and experience. Their halo halo is made with shaved ice rather than crushed ice - which is superior in texture and mouth-feel. The Ube ice cream + other mix-ins round out the dish - which is my favorite I've in SoCal. When it came time to find dessert vendors for my own event - Snowflakes was on the top of my list. I requested 100 servings of halo-halo and the owners (Kevin and Erica) were efficient and friendly while serving my hungry guests. Been coming here for over 6 years and the quality of the product they sell is always amazing. The people that work there are friendly and the inside is super cute. Throughout the years the prices have gone up which is understandable considering everything is going up in price everywhere. Today I went in and ordered a signature acai bowl and saw the price had gone up again, no problem. The issue I had was with the portion I was given. I noticed someone in the other reviews rated low because they felt they couldn't change the toppings. There's nothing that says you can't and they don't charge extra... all I did was ask and they were happy to. The woman who took my order suggested macadamia instead. SOLID recommendation that paired well! Was honestly the best I've had in a long time. My boyfriends açaí works bowl was really good too! The açaí was not too icy or creamy, it's just right. Had the halo halo and it did not disappoint. Instead of the crushed ice that I have typically experienced, they had a fine shave ice (like Hawaii) at the bottom of the dessert. We decided to build our own bowls; one with a matcha blend + original chia and the other with an acai blend + original chia. They were refreshing and super tasty. Snowflakes even has toppings that I haven't seen elsewhere, which are pretzels, goji berries, and chocolate chips. Although I didn't get pretzels, I think it's cool they're offered as a topping. This place has been around for a while so it seems they still get enough business from people. I just thought their shaved ice was not that tasty. They do have the more traditional Hawaiian style shaved ice, consisting of mostly just basic flavoring sauce as the main "toppings". I tend to prefer some additional options (there is even a popular shaved ice chain in Hawaii called Island Bodega that has really improved on this with a much better mix of non artificial flavoring sauces as well as a robust blend of different topping options), and this is what I wish this business had more of. The prices are also quite high. So given the quality of ingredients and shaved ice flavoring and topping options, I haven't wanted to return again. Service was fun. Pretty much the same in terms of the customer picking up at the counter when the food is ready. Then you eat in the somewhat limited seating area.
