Oh goodness. This place. How I love it! First of all. Each time I've been here, perhaps 5 times now, it's always been on a whim. I'm like, "Hmmm... my body sort of hurts," or, "I just want to be worked on a little bit." I give them a call, usually around 8-9PM (they have nice late hours), and ask if someone is free for an hour, and there's always someone free. Only once was I told that I needed to give them 10 mins. Perhaps this might be different if there is someone you specifically want, but I've had several different people and they're all great. It's wonderfully located one street over from me, so I'm literally there 2 mins after I call, and am taken right away. Instant gratification? Absolutely. The people at the front are very sweet and accommodating! Nothing worse than coming into a place of service, and the front desk people are a bunch of jerks. I very much appreciate their demeanor on the phone and in person! This, like everyone else has said, is for sure a no frills place. Each bed is divided by curtains, so yes. You will hear people in the other "room" for sure. The bed is lined with paper like at the doctor's office, and the towels provided are the typical beach towel or large bathroom towel. They're not the super fluffy white ones that you might get at a regular day spa, but they do the job, which is to cover you up lol There is a hamper basket underneath the bed to put your belongings in. Sometimes there is music playing in the background, but again, you're going to be hearing the other rooms' commotion, and also the beeping timers go off. So, if that type of stuff will bother you and ruin your experience, this is not the place for you. However, each person that has done work on me, while they each have slightly different technique, they do wonderfully. I always get the 60 min massage which includes regular massage (first over the towel, then with oil) and hot stone. Always starting laying on the stomach, and they do a lot of work on the back. I will admit that the work on extremities is sort of minimal, but I'm sure if you asked them to focus more somewhere, then they would (I've heard clients make requests). I have a lot of tension in my upper back, and they always work out the adhesions nicely. However, my favorite part is the head and face massage towards the end. They'll also use warm steamy towels to wipe off excess oil so not as much gets all over your clothes; nice consideration in my book. The best part about all of this is the price. For a 60 min massage, it's $50 cash, or $52.50 credit. For a massage that great at such a low price, I certainly don't care about the extra CC service charge. They have other options for timing and services too, but the 60 min one has def been great bang for the buck. They also have a stamp card for any massages 60 mins and above. Solid, strong 30 minute massage in relatively peaceful surroundings. Only downside was they charged me a 5 percent surcharge for using a credit card--which they didn't even tell me about before running the charge. Not a relaxing way to end the visit! read more

We're on vacation and all the walking has taken it's toll. This location had the best overall reviews. It was a FANTASTIC visit for my Mom and I. We called first and were able to make an appt for about 1.5 hrs later. The front desk lady was so friendly. Not much English spoken, but you get everything you need! :) My masseuse didn't talk much but he responded well to all my needs. When he worked his way to my feet too fast, my foot naturally reacted cause it tickled. He immediately moved back to my legs, and then slowly worked on my feet. When the hot stones were a little much on my lower back, he did a great technique to warm my skin slower so the stone wouldn't be so shocking. The stones were amazing! Very healing! I was very impressed with the skill, as was my Mom with hers. Often times when your masseuse doesn't speak your language, you don't get what you want. I was so impressed by the staff's attentiveness. Side note: we really wanted our feet worked on. Both of us got an extra 10 min on just our feet for free! *bliss* If you use a credit card to pay, there's an additional $2-3 fee. The place was too brightly lit - it was unpleasant for massages that require you to lay on your back. My person kept focusing on parts that were just my bone sticking out and not knots which clearly indicated that she was unaware of what was really going on in the body. I should start out by admitting to being easily disgusted by poorly maintained businesses and often grossed out by what I determine to be less than sanitary conditions. That being said, my boyfriend and I had wanted some last minute reflexology massages one afternoon. While walking around my neighborhood, we came across this place. I had already read the Yelp reviews and figured we'd check it out. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that this place is not what I expected and looks nothing like the photos. As we approached we noticed an Asian man looking menacingly out the front door window. We entered into a dark room and were greeted by an Asian woman who quickly began ushering us into the dark. I quickly explained we wanted reflexology massages and she said ok and separated us. I was brought back to a bed that was curtained off. It was quite dark so I couldn't see what the conditions were. I was instructed to put my belongings into a plastic bin under the bed and she pulled out a sketchy pillow on which I was to lay my head. That is probably my biggest, and possibly only complaint. The next 40 minutes may have been the best of my life! I know nothing of reflexology and massage, but I can say this, I was in heaven! Whatever she did to me, I felt amazing! My boyfriend agreed, and despite the fraudulent photos on the website and the questionably sanitary pillow and bed, I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

I've been coming here consistently for over a year now, and I would say that this is BY FAR the best no-frills massage place. In fact, I would pick a massage here any day over going to a fancy spa because they're THAT good. While there are a couple therapists who are my favorite (names I'd rather not disclose just to make sure they're not overbooked in the future:-)), almost every therapist here has "massaged" me before, and they're all terrific! The owner and his team are all very friendly. I've been here late before (where I was the last customer), and it was nice to see them lift up all the curtains/bids to make a full clean-up of the place. I think they do a good job of keeping the place clean, and I like how they have little storage bins for you to keep your things together. I needed a massage badly and found this place based on my location. Usually go somewhere downtown but no time to do that. Glad I stopped in. The place is clean. I thought it was only the first floor but they have a lower level as well. I did the massage & reflexology combo. I felt refreshed when I was done. The place is dingy so if you're a clean freak don't go. There is also very little privacy as "rooms" are behind curtains which sometimes get opened by other people or staff. So if your shy don't go. The other problem with the curtains and the thin walls is you can hear everything else going on in the tiny space. So if your looking to relax and disconnect don't go. I went for a reflexology massage but got an overall lower leg massage which was much needed. The massage was pretty good. Although she wasn't able to take the knot out of my right foot, which is still causing some pain, it is better. I recommend this place for a cheap foot massage but would hesitate to get a full body massage here. read more

If you are looking for spa style setting, this is not the place. If you are looking to get those kinks and knots out, you have arrived at the exact location. I read the previous reviews and have passed this location numerous times so I knew what to expect, well mostly. I was politely greeted upon entry and taken to a back room...all the way in the back. The hallway is dimly lit, strange orangish color on the walls and there are fabric shower curtains hanging on the rods as you walk down the hallway or look in the make-shift rooms. Once I was put in the room, where yet another shower curtain was the divider from the other person who was getting their massage. I was told to put my things in a plastic bin that was under the bed/cot and the greeter walked out. Minutes later another woman named Summer comes in and says how long? I tell her an hour and she proceeds to work her magic. Massage with the towel starts from neck to feet, warm up. Then she climbs on the bed/cot and really starts kneading my back and shoulders. She whispers to me if it was too strong, no ma'am please proceed! I've had my share of massages but this was the best! For a moment she stops to get oil and continues with the massage. She walks away and comes back with the hot stones and I am in heaven. Again walks away and come back with hot towels to wipe off the oil, oh goodie so my clothes won't be ruined. She pulls my hair out of my pony-tail and starts massaging my temples, face and head. The timer goes off and she politely says, "all done." I gladly tipped Summer for her excellent services and said I will definitely be back. The moral of this review is...don't let the looks of the place stop your from getting a good massage for a reasonable rate. As I said before, I've had massages before and all what Summer did isn't new to me. we found this on yelp. on the first look, we were a bit intimidated because its small and each bed divided by curtain. Since we already there, so decided to give it a try. we did not regret it. They are good. each person has there own style. we went 3 times so far, 2 out of 3 was really good. the other time wasn't bad it was just not as hard. will continue to go whenever we are in the city. I've now been here twice in 2 days. During my first visit I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage and a 60 minute facial for only $100 (a steal in any city, much less New York). By pure luck Amy happened to be both my massage therapist and facialist and did a fantastic job. The next day I saw a show on Broadway and the spa was right down the road, so I decided to stop by on a whim and was pleased to discover that it was still open (they close at 10:30pm on Sundays). I requested Amy but unfortunately she was with another client, so a male therapist gave me a 60 minute deep tissue massage. Although he wasn't nearly as good as Amy, the massage was above average and was definitely worth the $50. This place is a hidden gem! read more

I come to this place relatively often as it's really close by to where I live and is open late. The first time I came here, I absolutely loved the massage (even though the place is tiny and has curtains instead of walls so you can hear everything that's going on in other rooms, including multiple alarms ringing). The massage itself is pretty decent, depending on who you get. The last time I went was last night and I don't know what she did but my back hurts and I have bruises (maybe she was just new and didn't know what to do). Great budget Chinese massage parlor. It has become my go-to in Manhattan (I live in Brooklyn). I've never had a bad massage there. As is par for the course at such parlors, the digs are small and cramped, and your will not have the kind of privacy/tranquility you'd get at a pricey spa. Also, don't expect any lengthy discussions (unless your Mandarin is good). As long as you set your expectations right, it's a great place. If possible, pay in cash. read more

They do not value their clientele or honor appointments. I called an hour before I arrived to see if they had availability since I know it is busy on weekends. The woman who answered confirmed availability and I told her I'll be there in an hour. She took down my number and I reconfirmed the time. I had been having consistent lower back pain and needed work so I thought I would be in good hands here like I usually am. Nope. I am 4 blocks from the "spa" (hole in the wall) and I get a call before my appointment time that it is no longer available. WTF! I travelled an hour out of my way and you gave away my appointment?!? Why book people if you can't honor the appointment. They asked me to come back 2 hours later and I said no because I booked an appointment and travelled specifically to come here. I could have went somewhere else instead of out of my way if they had no tables available. When I asked for an explanation or to speak to a manager I got the 'no speak English' card from both. BS! They were just trying to take the easy way out because they had no excuse. It's not even like I was using complex sentences! I have spoken to the man who regularly works there before and I know his English is pretty decent and he can communicate enough to run a business. Unfortunately I can't speak to them in their native tongue as a fellow Chinese person, but I'm disappointed in the lack of customer service and the run around I got this evening. This place has gone down hill in their attentiveness as well as appreciation for their customers. Snowflake, don't ask people to make appointments if you can't keep them! Peace out, Snowflake, I will NOT be returning! I was a loyal customer and recommended it to many friends, but I am taking my money and friends with me. I receive a massage at Snowflake Spa every week! They are really nice people who greet you at the door. The person I usually get a massage from is Ivy ,very good at massage plus she is always happy and I feel welcome every time I walk through the door. Sunny is also really good and strong at massage. Tom greets you at the desk , always with a smile also gives massage but I have not booked with him yet. I suggest for peace and quiet you ask for a room away from the front door since people walk in always asking questions about rates and availability. Also they are conveniently located and have another location at 51 and 9 th avenue. The price range is reasonable as well that way after your fabulous massage it's no problem to leave a nice big tip for a great job well done. This is how I do it , they completely deserve it .
