We got lunch here and the food was fine. Close proximity to the timber creek lift. Not a bad spot.

Also their QR codes on their receipts don't work to give them feedback. ------ Original I'll give it an extra star just for the location but I was disappointed. They had a black bean burger but it's not clearly labeled as vegan. I wish it would be clearly labeled as "vegan " I would wish a national park would have a lot of plant based options since it's much more environmentally friendly...they ended the original fire fall over environmental unfriendliness, they should phase out meat and other high environmental impact foods. My black bean burger said it would come with vegan aoli but it didn't. Also I had to ask for the cup from my combo, if I hadn't they would have forgot. Service seemed tired and they yell really loud! The ambiance feels like it's been updated recently. It is ok inside, the Starbucks in the same building looks much nicer than anywhere else.

We were visiting during the off-season which meant that the menu was much more limited. Breakfast was the best meal by far and still had a fairly wide number of options, but lunch and dinner had very few options (and the options weren't very good). There really aren't many food options, so I'd probably recommend bringing microwave meals for dinner and using the microwave in the lobby area. For breakfast, they had lots of different options including pancakes; eggs, bacon, sausage combo; breakfast burritos; yogurt parfaits; and oatmeal. The breakfast burrito and egg and meat combos were the best options, and the yogurt parfait was as expected. Very few items were available for lunch or dinner; they were as follows Cheeseburger Hot honey chicken sandwich Burger Chicken tenders Hot dog Pizza (sometimes) The cheeseburger and the hot honey chicken sandwich are the least offensive dinner items. The pizza is unequivocally awful; if you think pizza cannot be messed up, Base Camp Eatery will prove you wrong.

Orange chicken. Horrible rice and sad veggies, but at least a decent amount of chicken bits. I call it bits because that's what it was.

They had the banner for best brunch 2025 hanging nicely. Diane, the owner, put us on the waitlist and also showed us to our table. Very warm welcome! We started off with coffee. Hubby had the Chorizo Quesadilla and enjoyed it very much. The portion was enough for 2 meals. Sure enough, he took half home. I had the Coconut French Toast, the small portion. Even though it's supposed to be small, I still left some on my plate. Love the fresh sliced bananas with it! There are more menu items we would love to try. Just need to come back and visit again!

The poached eggs were done perfectly and the English muffins were not burnt. (I have, unfortunately, experienced that before at another location.) My sister's breakfast was the corn beef hash, which really did look homemade, (unlike another restaurant in the area that served me what I believed was canned corn beef hash with almost soup texture.) her fruit was ripe. I do believe she very much enjoyed the breakfast. I may not be 100% correct on this, but I was rather disappointed in the hollandaise, it was a bit 'flat'. As far as I can tell, it was not true hollandaise. Most probably it was an egg Béchamel. It had a very creamy texture, a small tendency to congeal on the top, and lacked the bright zing of lemon and buttery texture and flavor of true hollandaise. Indicators, its lack of a slightly translucent and glossy finish, the lack of the acidity of lemon juice or vinegar, and did not weep butter, but instead seem to thicken and form a slight crust as I finished the Benedicts. The egg, Benedict were very tasty, but the hollandaise sauce with disappointing. (I really do like a good hollandaise.)

My friend suggest we meet at the Sage Cafe for lunch, located inside the Carson Tahoe Hospital. I've been here before, and liked it, so I wasn't surprised at wanting to have lunch at a hospital! He said they opened the wok stir fry station that was closed for a long time. He said it was really good and you get to make up you own wok fry my just checking off on a list of ingredients of what you want. We meet up there, you just have to sign in at the front desk as you enter first. The inside looks same as it always did, open and clean. We go over to the stir fry station on the back to the right. For $8.65 you get to pick out all the stuff you want, no limit, but I do think they go my total weight, so like if you pick 2 meats, you get less of each one, still generous with the stuff you pick though. We just filled out the little forms, circling what we wanted. They even offered shrimp for no extra cost. You won't get that in any Chinese restaurant! I got shrimp for my protein and the chef put a ton of it in! My friend had a combo of chicken and shrimp. We watched as the chef tossed our stuff in the air in the wok. They run induction burners, so no giant flames ... prob a good thing inside a hospital! Our food is served in to go boxes, no plates here. Wow, the food was super scrumptious, I liked our selection of ingredients. I'd say with this wok stir fry station open now, get yourself over here and have lunch. It starts at 11 am. $8.65 with no tax is way cheaper than any Chinese restaurant these days!

Years back my husband and I wanted to try them out but we went in on a random Saturday morning and they were closed. My dad was admitted to this hospital a little over a year ago but I was not able to try it, so it was time! The first thing I wanted to try was their breakfast! I walked over to the ready made selections and I assumed it was just like regional where the only thing they offered were premade. Since I assumed, I went ahead and tried their sausage and egg English muffin sandwich, which is my go to at regional! After I paid I noticed there were a group of people to the side waiting for their orders. I looked to the right of the cashier and I saw they had made to order omelettes! I was bummed I didn't see that in the first place or else I would have ordered it! The price of the sandwich was about $3.50 and the omelettes were $3, which is a great deal! The breakfast sausage english muffin sandwich was similar to the one I regularly eat at Regional, but I don't think they butter the bread here, which is good on my heart and arteries! It's definitely something I would recommend to try! I am so used to picking up Starbucks at regional that when I ordered my sandwich I decided to just get drip coffee, which wasn't labeled. I then I realized i should have just made coffee in my office but it was ok, it did it's job! During the lunch hour, my husband, who's office is about a block away, decided to join me and we went straight to the menu to the right of the cashier. Everything was priced great! I ordered the tuna melt with fries and he ordered patty melt with onion rings. Both were priced pretty good, about $3 for each sandwich, the fries were $1, and onion rings $2. My coworker told me the quesadillas were good as well! The sandwiches and onion rings were hot and fresh but the fries seemed like they were sitting there for a little bit, but they were battered similar to flowing tide fries! Still yummy! Both times I went throughout the day, they offered a small cold section with salads, fruits, yogurt, and a refrigerator stocked with bottled drinks. They didn't have a soda fountain available. They also had an area for snacks including slim Jim's, trail mix, etc. condiment packed were stocked and I was glad to see they had cholula offered which is a change from Tabasco at regional. Next time I do want to try the made to order foods that they offer! This makes me miss the made to order ways we had a regional. I had the same cashier both times and he was so sweet, all smiles and was so welcoming! The tables were limited but it was like a well oiled machine; as soon as people were done at the table, they got up to make way for others to sit. I really like that the area was well lit with big windows to let natural light in. My husband and I were reminded of being at a hotel. I grew up eating hospital food since my mom was a nurse for 24 years so I never look down on cafeteria food. The quality isn't what you'll find at a 5 star or a Michelin star restaurant, but if you're at the hospital and hungry whether you're a guest or an employee it's worth it!

We were seated almost immediately and had a very friendly hostess and server. Pesto chicken sliders: 5/5 best thing we ordered. Fish and chips: 4/5 run of the mill fish and chips. The breading was a little thick and the fish wasn't particularly tender but it was alright. I usually feel like places don't provide enough tartar sauce but here I had sauce left over Bloody Mary: 5/5 I don't like blood Marys and I enjoyed this one which might indicate that it wasn't good but I really liked it. My husband said it was "more vegetal than usual" and I think I don't like the overwhelming tomato taste of a usual Bloody Mary so his observation makes sense Mulled wine: 4/5 pleasantly warm and interesting in flavor. Felt comforting after skiing If this was a random restaurant in the Bay Area this review would look very different but I'm comparing it to usual fare at ski resorts; to sit down to such a nice, filling, hot meal while wearing my ski boots was such a happy time, all three of us were thrilled.

It is the smallest of all the red huts and it has a vintage cute vibe. Our service was amazing and the food was really delicious. It was very casual and old school. I felt like if I lived here and came regularly, the waitstaff would treat me like family. Everyone was super nice and attentive. Food was a touch expensive but better than competitors (heidi!), but I also felt that some of the food was a little skimpy. My partner got the tuna melt and I just expect a tuna melt to be sort of heaping, like a thick layer of tuna, but the tuna layer was equally as thick as the bread. Also, I got the rösti, and it's about 1 and a half to 2 cups of hash browns with cheese and diced meat on top. As we know, hash browns are super cheap. I got it "loaded" which is choosing all three of the meat options (tiny diced cubes of ham, small slices of breakfast sausage, and bacon bits) and it became $21. I felt like that is pretty steep for hash browns and a quarter cup of meat, but I understand mountain towns have to raise prices to offset the shipping/travel costs. All in all, I would definitely come here again!!!
