This is by far the best dining option in the Kirkwood ski resort area! Service is very very friendly, food quality is so much better than all the Vail owned food spots nearby, and prices are actually reasonable. I got the Philly cheese steak, and my partner got the red cliff hero. I enjoyed the pretzel roll used for the sandwiches, and I was pleasantly surprised that the fries were seasoned so well. Also, $4 draft beer? Great deal! Service was exceptional. The guy working that evening was super friendly and kept checking in on us to make sure we were all good. Just one thing to note - the main source of heating inside is from the fireplace, so either sit near there or make sure you're dressed warmly enough if you're visiting during the winter. read more

This place is way better than the food at the Village. It's a little outside of the village, but worth eating at compared to the other places. My husband said he's been here many times and the food is consistent. Philly cheesesteak and the burger was delicious. The pretzel bun for the Philly cheesesteak was soft. I like the char taste on the burger. Nachos were ok. We enjoyed the Paloma and Irish coffee. I sat at the restaurant waiting for my family for a while and our waitress, Kelsey, kept checking on me to make sure I was ok. She was so nice. I will definitely be back here next month. read more

The only restaurant in the Kirkwood not owned by Vail. Very local feel. Prices are high but on par with other resort restaurants. Didn't have high expectations but the food was really good. The 7800 burger was pretty good. The chili cheese fries were good. The star of the show was definitely the pretzels with beer cheese. Might be the best pretzel I've ever had. It is chilly in there so layer up when you go. You can also warm up by the big fireplace they have in the middle. Just to know, they close down the kitchen at 8pm. My husband and I visited this restaurant as it was our 2nd choice in the area close to our hotel. We were seated promptly and our simple order (soup & salad for me, chicken tenders for my husband) arrived fresh but wait time was an hour or so. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the behavior of our server, Amy. When my husband approached her to request a to-go box and the check, she was curt and rude in response but other patrons in hearing distance. We understand that she appeared to be the only server handling the bar and multiple tables, but that does not excuse her unprofessional service. Amy clearly needs more support from management, the restaurant should ensure that staff are not overburdened to the point that it affects how paying customers are treated. We will certainly not visit this restaurant anytime soon or recommend to our family and friends, visiting from San Francisco. Overall score because of her service 1/10 -Good luck!! read more

However, the service is a bit rushed and too busy. They don't give u too much time to order and they will look away and walk away...and act too busy and it was a pain to get service. The service is usually pretty good even when busy. For a ski resort pub, it's pretty good. Itas hard to find as you'd have to drive a hook to get to it. All the food is just ok, but the service is nice and it's quick. The beer was decent, although there was limited selection. The service was nonexistent, but there was one server, taking care of the bar, and all of the patrons; so it was almost impossible to get his attention, and he was running all over the place. This bar is a must if you are skiing at Kirkwood. The prices are much cheaper than any of the lodges, and it's a pretty close hop, skip, n jump off of the bottom lift. I usually work my way from one side of the mountain to the other to land here for lunch. The bartenders are always very straight forward but cool, and they have really good Bloody Mary's. Located on the 1st floor of the Towers building, it offers a full bar (daily $4 microbrews and $2 Coors), restaurant, fireplace, and an ample amount of table seating. There is also an outdoor patio with seating, which is a great place to hang out on a sunny day. My friends and I like to meet here for drinks, food, and the down to earth ambiance. The food is usually pretty good (I'm not too picky when I'm cold and have been skiing all day) but service can be very hit or miss. Come when it's crowded and you can be waiting 1 1/2 hours for your food - SERIOUSLY. They don't seem to be prepared for a full house as their standard reply for a ridiculous wait time for your food is "We're really busy right now". I've worked in the restaurant industry before and this should NOT be your standard excuse for slow service. If they could improve upon this, I would happily give 5 stars to 7800. read more

New place open where the old Tower Bar was. It's fairly small and cosy, with a decent bar and menu, and prices that you'll definitely like if you're used to typical ski resort gouging. I especially appreciate the $1 first beer for season pass holders - that's pretty sweet. They have a kid's menu too, which is a plus. The staff are friendly, though still a bit disorganised. They've gotten smoother over the past few weeks, and it's never been a hassle, just typical new-establishment teething. Overall, it's a great addition to Kirkwood, and I go to the 7800 in preference to the other local options now. read more
