I haven't been to a Snuffers in years. We live in Fort Worth and there's not one close. So meeting my son for dinner in Addison and knew where we were eating when I saw there's one next to his apartments. The staff was friendly and it was an early dinner. So no wait to sit down and ordered pretty quickly. The decor is just as I remember it. Cozy and hasn't changed a lot. Which I like! Of course, we had to start with their cheddar fries! Ohhhhh so good! I got my usual mushroom Swiss burger and my son opted for a bacon cheeseburger. Did I mention how good those cheddar fries are! So I've been a fan of Snuffers since I moved to the Big D about 20+ years ago. I've seen the menu change from time to time. Cried a bit when they changed the club sandwich to the traditional version versus when it was placed between two burger buns and a ton of crumbled bacon at the bottom.....the best and it never came back. I've seen them add new items, most of which I didn't care much for. And the service and ambiance was always on point! Remember the haunted version of the Greenville location? Yes, Snuffy and I have some history. Rocky at times but we always come together in perfect harmony. Just like couples stay together for the kids, I've made the decision to stay with Snuffy for the fries. They are the loves of my life. But on my last visit, at the Addison location, the cheese on my beloved cheese fries seemed off. Too melty, with a hint of chalky texture. No bueno. I wasn't the only one that noticed a difference as everyone at my table did too. Snuffy, if you mess with my fries, especially the cheese, then you're messing with me! I admit this has only been one unfortunate encounter so I will give it a go one more time. If they made the terrible decision to start messing with those cheese fries, then there's no saving our relationship. I grew up going to Snuffers--Greenville Ave, then Preston Center later. Visited this Snuffer's a few days ago for a late evening bite and drinks with the 'old' parents. We were mostly craving those old school beloved cheddar fries, so that was the biggest focus! Three of us ordered a medium--it was smaller than I remembered from past years and with less black pepper (easy fix), but still enough that everyone got a decent yummy treat. Dad had a burger and said was a great classic burger. Mom and I shared the new sliders, mixed and matched--a couple burgers (bacon cheese and mushroom Swiss) and one hot honey chicken. All were tasty and perfect sized for lighter appetites. Oh, and we had 4 Snufferita's (top shelf margaritas) between the three of us. Yum! It was a low-key late night birthday outing for Mom. Regarding DELIVERY to Airport Hotels: Considering this restaurant caters to the dozens of airport hotels, you would think they would be considerate of their customers. My delivery was delivered without any napkin and without any utensils. This restaurant leaves paper menus in the lobby of this hotel to encourage orders. In addition to the purchase price of my 2 food items (a tired salad and a sandwich), there was a "service" fee ($4.28), sales tax ($3.28), a tip ($8.61), a "donation" fee ($0.34) and a "delivery" fee ($6.99). So my $28 order cost me $52. What is a "donation fee?" Considering all these charges, you would think the restaurant would supply the most basic, minimal, elementary necessities of a takeout order. read more

I ordered the Dr Pepper barbecue burger with applewood bacon and I added an egg. My side was a salad. Everything was so good not too greasy and I could taste all the flavors. It was great. Snuffers is a classic reliable bar / restaurant. Has kind of a Cheers vibe. The menu and service is delightfully predictable. Wings, fries, burgers, fried pickles, loaded cheese fries, are all tasty, with a wide assortment of drinks to go with. They also have a good Happy Hour menu , good 4-7pm Mon to Friday. The reason for the four stars is that they recently redid their menu, and while the food is the same, the prices have gone up a bit. I was in a rush and could not wait, so I left. My boyfriend placed a grub hub order for me and when it arrives, Snuffers didn't fulfill it correctly. They gave me cheese fries and then threw in a huge handful of fries when I ordered chicken tenders. It's clearly printed on the receipt. Great place and food. However they seem to only Do a good job in person. The last 6 orders I've gotten from Uber eats and door dash have consistently been missing items or had incorrect items. It clearly shows the order on the ticket and checked off as they place in the bag but yet fail to get the right items. Also, a few times the fries have been significantly over cooked and come so hard you can't cut through and they are stale and 1/2 the time if you choose the bacon, chives, jalapeño option you'll be charged and it'll be missing from the order.
