Ms. Jones rolled into Snuffer's for an early lunch with her beloved rock star husband this afternoon. A couple of burgers and ice cold beers sounded wonderful--just what the Doctor ordered on this glorious July day. Ms. Jones would like to share with you that she LOVED the loaded cheese fries. A nice basket of golden brown fries topped with melted cheddar and topped with bacon, onions and jalapenos--wonderful! Starting the meal this way left Ms. Jones eager to sink her beautiful pearly whites into their signature burger and she was quite excited when it arrived. While it looked beautiful, Ms. Jones is very sad to tell you that it was a grand disappointment. Greasy, no flavor--despite being ordered all the way--under cooked for a burger that was ordered medium (same experience a previous review had mentioned)...it was just "meh, I've experienced better." Two burgers, two beers each and a basket of cheesy fries came to $45.00 Though not outrageous in price, there are much more reasonable and better burgers to be had out there....MUCH better. Ms. Jones will not be back to Snuffer's. Her husband felt the same way. On the positive side, the staff rates 5 stars--they were attentive, friendly and fast. Ms. Jones could not help but feel the owner of this establishment knows how to run his staff and has a good eye for creating a fun looking physical plant, but perhaps should consider hiring another chef...after all, how hard is it to create a tasty burger???? Teamwork and friendly staff. You can typically go to any Snuffers and the food and service is top notch. We went on a fairly busy Sunday yesterday and our waitress (I forgot her name) was great. She was on point and had excellent follow through. Our drinks were always full and to-go cups were brought with our check. I have grown up eating Snuffers since I was 12 years old. This place holds a specially place in my heart. I always order the cheese fries and a spicy batter chicken strips. Yes the food is mostly unhealthy with with a few healthy options, but their food is tasty! Today, the service and food was spectacular. My soft drink never went below a fourth of a glass. This is a Dallas classic. The main reason I gave 4 stars is because of the cheddar fries. You have to order them with all the toppings. They even have single and half servings available. My go to meals here are the chicken tenders and mushroom burger. I just visited the new location in Addison off of Beltline and it's much better. You'd be surprised at how many restaurants close early in Addison! My husband teaches evenings, so we are always on the lookout for something that first, is open past 10:00, and second has everything else we want! They do close at 11 but they still let us order at 10:55. They have a bar, so we were able to order our sparkling soda water and lemons (and weren't charged for them!), but it isn't an overwhelming bar atmosphere when you walk in. We had the chicken fried chicken--which melted in our mouths. Best ever. The mashed potatoes are real red potatoes and not instant. The side salad is also very nice. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. My only problem was that I froze to death, but that is what most people in Dallas are looking for in July. The "New" Triple Decker Club is a huge fail. I took clients to lunch today and ordered it for the first time. There was barely any meat, two seriously thin pieces of ham and turkey, or likely one piece of meat just folded over (so thin it just had one side). For $9, it should be a little bit stacked. So....the food was ok. The service....worst ever!!! Out server, "Jake" was awful. He acted like a table of 9 was way to hard to take care of. My fiancé was talking to him as he was taking orders and then when he asked to place an order Jake rudely said"wait your turn." Then took 3 waiters to come by to finally get a refill on my water. We were there for my cousins birthday, I said " we are here celebrating a birthday." Jake then again rudely said, "we don't celebrate birthdays here" then proceeded to say dessert anyone? D and I encountered choosing dinner for date night with one thing in mind: margaritas. We clicked around Yelp searching for Blue Goose and Berryhill and Los Lupes and everything and anything Mexican but no one had a deal. Enter: Snuffer's. Monday through Wednesday- all margaritas and daquiris are in the $3.50 price range. We were sold. D and I scanned the menu and while the burgers, especially the green chili one, all sounded delicious. We couldn't get over that we'd be paying $7 or $8 for a fry-less burger. Also, the cheese fries (which I've had before here) are pretty phenomenal; we just weren't feeling them. So, we ordered the nachos instead. $9 for a HUGE plate of the tastiest nachos in Dallas. No kidding. Who knew Snuffer's could win the nacho competition? These aren't just chips. They're actually several corn tortillas quartered and fried, lovingly spread with beans, topped with tons of melted cheese, and served with all the fixings. D and I were pretty much floored. I highly recommend Snuffer's a great place to sit back with a beer and some bar food. The atmosphere is a little dark and dingy with tons of dark wood but it's got a real charm to it. Miss the old management and ownership. They were much friendlier and cared for their customers more. The waiters do a very sh*tty job now and the food was lousy and cold two of the three times I've been here since the new ownership took over. The food used to be extremely fresh and delicious. You can tell that this local chain is now owned by a large food business just by the precooked frozen fries as well as their precooked frozen burgers. Admittedly, I hadn't been to Snuffers in some time, so I didn't know what to expect. However, I went to the Addison location last week craving what I used to remember as one of the best burgers in town. What I left with was being underwhelmed at best. My buddy and I ordered cheese fries that had little cheese, and what cheese was on the fries was hardly melted. Then comes the main course. What I remember about Snuffers' burgers was a big, plump, juicy patty that was the same circumference as the poppy seed bun, and piles of chopped bacon on top. What I got this time was a shriveled overcooked patty with three strips of pig leather bathed in Crisco laying on top. I couldn't even finish one half of the burger. Not sure what happened to you guys over the last couple of years, but I won't be back, especially with all the new options of burger bars popping up all over the area. Disappointing..... read more

You hear about the cheese fries as you should- they are loaded to hell and ready to undo everything you ever tried to maintain about yourself. The first time I went I had the steak tenders, and won't do those again- they're pretty bland. My boyfriend had the mushroom swiss burger and still talks about it. I just recently had the green chile burger, and it was pretty good- I got the chiles on the side, bc I never assume about green chiles. Good idea- because they were okay. This joint is a fried haven, and you know what you're getting into if you've been before. The atmosphere the first time I went was really weird. Lighting was strange... it seemed like a time warp walking in there-- like a joint from the eighties that kind of reminded me of the lighting in a baseball field at night. They also smoke inside at the Midway location, so prepare for that, or go to the Preston location. Overall, burgers and fries, my friends. It ain't too bad, but it sure ain't tacos. read more

Last Wednesday we had our last meal at Snuffers! It was atrocious and embarrassing as we had guests from Australia with us. The food took forever and when we asked our server what seemed to be the problem she responded, "well, it takes time to cook it!" I supposed it took extra time to BURN IT!!!!! The bus were stale and the cheese on my burger was black and so burned it chipped off. There is usually a manager on duty but one didn't appear to express our dismay, since our waitress was condescending and unapologetic, we apologized to our visitors and left. Snuffer's cheese fries are pretty good. When I am not by a Snuffer's, I really enjoy cheese fries from Outback Steakhouse. Just tell them to layer the cheese and you have a pretty good Snuffer's alternative. Don't forget the extra ranch. read more

I'm giving 5 stars not because this was a perfect experience, but because of the way a less than perfect experience was handled by our waitress. Our table seemed to be in a questionable space so our waitress wasn't quite sure that it was hers. She still got to us early and took our drink orders. I'm a picky drink orderer (think of Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally) and my drink came out wrong. Not a problem. She zipped in, got it fixed and assured me that it was in the system now so it wouldn't be a problem again. She was correct about that! Three drinks later:..I'm a happy girl. She even changed the channel for us (who wants to watch Colorado FB when Big 12 is on???). We then had a large party with several teens and lots of distractions while ordering. Somehow, all of the orders came out correctly....except mine. She came over and immediately apologized, told me the mistake was hers (she clearly had several large parties as crazy as we were) and she made it right. Food was great. Burgers perfect as usual. Everything you expect but with a server who might make a very human mistake but gets in and makes it right. You can't beat that. read more

Surprisingly had the best service experience in my in entire life here. Everyone worked as a team to fulfill customers needs. Everything was so quick and our server Jacob was awesome man he really lifted our spirits. I wish the menu had some vegeterian options other than veggie burger but i dont even care ill come back just for the smiling faces and 3$ margarita happy hour. I have one place in Fayetteville, AR that makes the best burgers I have ever had in my life. Let's just say they are 6 stars and Snuffers burgers are 5 stars.
