Just the worst service. We waited for 20 minutes while people who were seated after us were being tended to. Even the manager went table to table to ask if he could be of service and walked right passed us. We were looking forwarded to experiencing what Snuffer's had to offer... Okay, second visit and will just tell it as it happened! We seated ourselves in the side room extension. Our hands stuck to the tabletop. Moved to another,and it was a little better but still sticky. After waiting a good while, hubby got up to find a waitress, and we ordered the Tuesday $5 burger special and large fries. Large cheddar fries arrived which we didn't order. We asked for regular and waitress obliged. Still no burgers. Fries were hot and good. No napkins were brought. We asked for lemon with our water. Later after still not getting lemons, we asked another waitress walking by and she brought us a cup with several. Good. As I looked around me, I noticed how filthy the outdoor windows were, noticed how a glass door to the patio was covered in dirt, and saw an inside window with finger smudges all over it. Then I noticed cobwebs in the corner by that same door. Now, get this. Our waitress finally brought us one single lemon slice for the two of us, saying " well I finally found you some lemons." What? The burger came cooked as we asked, medium and was good. Nothing special but okay. No water refills offered. Our bill came and it still had the cost of the cheddar fries we didn't order. Hubby was so ready to leave, he just paid the bill as is. Our final Impression was the filthy front door. Half the paint was missing but had been replaced by dirt as people pushed the door to exit. Apparently hadn't been cleaned in a couple of years. I would be terrified to see the kitchen! The above is just a true assessment of our Snuffers visit. No emotion...just the facts. Sign said "Seat Yourself". We did. No one ever came to our table for a drink or food order. Not even a hello. Wait staff was all busy visiting with each other. Lots of dirty tables but they were to busy to clean those. Hope you had a good time at work today! read more

Unlike other Snuffers, this one suffers from a variety of problems. They seem to constantly change chefs resulting in food that isn't consistent. Now, when they get a chef who is good you can tell as their burgers are some of the best. On top of this, the cheese fries are simply the golden standard. On top of this, the waitstaff is always a bit confused. There are few waiters that stay for a long time. The continuing cycle leads to waiters that are not too good at their job. They do their best, but it is easy to not see your waiter for a good 30 minutes at a time. Overall, I feel the good experiences I have had here make it an above average place to eat. It certainly pales in comparison to the original Snuffers in downtown Dallas, but it is far better than what passes for burgers in Rockwall. read more

The food I ordered didn't arrive quite as composed as the other locations I frequent. I had to fight a gnat for my food. The waitress only asked me ONCE how I was doing. I did enjoy hearing her banter with the other customers. I'm left without anything to say. read more

I had only ever eaten at the original Snuffer's, so I was excited to try the Rockwall location. It was disappointing, at best. The sweet tea was sour, and had to be exchanged for Coke. The bacon on my burger was almost burnt. Our server was inattentive at best. The entire meal was a disappointment. read more

Went late in afternoon on St. Paddy's day! Service was atrocious. We sat outside for 10 mins before I had to go find wait staff. We were surrounded by nasty dirty dishes. Ate here for lunch and as usual it was very good. The chicken fried steak is huge. The fried mushrooms and pickle appetizer is super. The portions are very generous and big enough to share unless you are a pig. Highly recommended. PS The prices are very reasonable for what you get. read more

My husband and I frequent snuffers when we get a hankering for a good burger and cold beer. As many have stated, the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Upon entering the premises, you feel like you have entered a cave. It's seriously dark in this place, even in the daytime! It's not the cleanest place and the service can be kind of slow. But hey, it's a bar and burger joint so I don't expect much. I will agree with one poster who commented that the soda and water have a sort of off taste but like I said before I come here for the cold beer! They have a decent selection of beer and run beer specials daily. They have a lunch special Monday to Wednesday where you can get a burger and fries or onion fries for 4.99. Not a bad deal and you get a decent amount of food. My husband and I have never been disappointed by the burgers or fries at this place. The burgers are always cooked to our liking and juicy. The loaded cheddar fries and fried pickles are a must try! We love their ranch dressing and order a side of it with our burger and fries. The other fare on the menu such as the hot dog and turkey wrap are also pretty good. They have an outdoor seating area that overlooks the Lake Ray Hubbard if you feel like the ambiance inside is not to your liking. read more

Small menu, but food is consistently good. Super fast service. One thing that bugs me though is that the place needs a good scrubbing and cleaning, top to bottom. Everything needs it - sticky menus, dusty blinds and sills, tables, seats, windows, etc. It kind of grosses me out when I go. Not sure why no one notices this. read more

Went here on a Sunday evening, not very full of people, but service was slow. We did a lot of waiting to get menus, order taken, silverware and napkins. Wasn't pleasant staring at dirty tables in the patio while we were supposed to be enjoying watching the sun go down over the lake. The food was good, but you can easily get comparable elsewhere with better service for the price. Probably won't go back. read more

I wish that I could give Snuffer's a higher rating, however, after eating here several times and trying different menu items - I simply have not found anything that is spectacular. I think that their cheese fries are pretty good - but just about everything else to be bland and just so-so. I have been repeatedly disappointed with their $9 "Snufferita" - finding it over-priced, not very potent, and not really all that great tasting... I think that their $5 generic Margarita is much better. I also think that a better happy hour offer would benefit their business greatly... read more

I still like the food, but new ownership is killing the neighborhood bar atmosphere that this Snuffer's had for years. Way too many expensive Craft beers now. I have been a loyal fan of Snuffer's for almost 20 years, but now I am officially DONE! My family and I (including our young daughter) went to the Rockwall location tonight. We weren't greeted by any staff for 10 minutes after we sat down (even then, it wasn't our waiter who greeted us). Then, our waiter finally came to take our appetizer order and disappeared for 20 more minutes. After many unsuccessful attempts by us to flag him down, he finally took our meal order 30 minutes into our visit. Even after we complained to him about the service, he still checked in on us only minimally and refilled our drinks only once after we, once again, flagged him down and requested refills. After an hour and 5 minutes, we finally just asked them to cancel our orders so that we could pay for what we had and leave. All of a sudden, our food magically appeared before us. Imagine that! However, my salad lacked most of the toppings I know it comes with AND didn't come with the ranch dressing I ordered. Did I mention that my order was just a soup and salad, my husband's was a sandwich, and my daughter's was mini corn dogs that I'm sure they just throw in the microwave? Why ON EARTH would that take over 30 minutes to cook? The restaurant was NOT crowded at all. Thankfully for us, the manager did comp our meal. Really wanted a great Chili cheese burger and Snuffers has it going on! Asked my husband to take me there to cure my craving, he objected because of past poor wait staff! Well, he was right, should've skipped going there and went somewhere else. Upon entering the restaurant the lovely hostess just looked at us, I spoke up and said "we would like to sit on the patio" she replied with " sit anywhere you want" didn't offer a menu or a smile. We sat on the patio and waited and waited and waited. During our wait my husband came up with a new name for the place "Suffer's" cause that's what your gonna do! Finally a waiter comes up and asks what he can do for us, well first we need menus and we would like a couple of beers. He gets two menus, lays them on the table and says he will be right back. Well that didn't happen, instead another young guy comes with our beers, sits them down and runs. We looked at each other and decided we were in for a long wait especially after hearing another patron complain that they put onions on his burger and the waitress asked him if he could just take them off because the kitchen is overwhelmed!
