Absolutely such a fun bar didn't have anything to eat only drinks in a little bit of karaoke

Sahiv was amazing best bartenter!!! He was very caring and fun to be around talked to us and helped us around

I'm an idiot and can't remember the name of the band. If you do, post it!! They were great!!

Located in or really attached to the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, this is more of a high end jazz bar in NOLA right on Bourbon Street. Some drinks were made really well. One drink was not on par with the others but I'm not splitting hairs. Overall the place was clean, fun, that band whose name escapes me was good, perfectly located on Bourbon Street. Didn't have food so I can't comment on that. Service was good. All in all, a cool place to chill if bourbon street is getting too much for ya.

    First time We went(good experience)
    Staci B.

I went twice in one day and likewise I had two different experiences. The first was around 2ish in the afternoon. We went with our son. We got him his first Ramos Gin Fizz. Unlike other bars they have a machine that shakes it for them. So the bartender didn't get angry at us. Some will no joke lol! The drink takes 6 min or so to make. I got a Missing hat man and maybe a Cat eye. Hey it's NOLA you drink everywhere !! And you forget what you got where. My husband got the Blanton's Gold and The Devil's advocate. We liked our drinks and the bartender was friendly enough . It wasn't hugely crowded which was good. The bartender told us they had Jazz at nights so being curious We decided to visit again in the Evening So We go back at 8:19 in the evening the experience was not as good. For one it seemed We were forgotten. The bartenders concentrated on one portion of the bar ONLY!! They had two but yet after a few drinks zero bartenders looked our way again . Yet We had a employee right beside us who never said a word. She piled dishes right beside me and rearranged glasses. Finally after getting zero attention from the bartenders and the godawful loudness of the Jazz (When they finally played) We decided to leave. She had to ask one of the bartenders if she could check us out. Huh? I dont really understand the treatment since We tip well where ever We go. We had bought a total of 10 drinks there between both times. Most people don't do that Hello!! Guess they decided they got enough money from us. It was really disappointing since one of the bartenders had waited on Us that very afternoon when We had our son with us! I did like it at first til that experience . Will I go again? Honestly there are so many places to get a drink that bad service is a turn off. Many other places want our moola and give us great service!! No matter how many drinks We get. The whole experience when We went that evening pretty much sucked! What I thought would be a relaxing evening listening to Jazz well it was totally the opposite. The Jazz Musician while good was too dang loud!! It started giving us a headache. So my answer is Sorry Bourbon O'Bar while I thought you were quaint at first no customer should be forgotten EVER! You could have at least apologized for the rudeness. That's okay other places adore our money and the tips We give your loss! Sometimes I do give places second chances but I see no reason to go back to a place that ignored my husband and I .

We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. This is their bar. They have nightly jazz music. We went 2 nights and it was very enjoyable. They have tables, a couch and a bar. You can enter from the hotel or street. They have decent bar food as shown we had pork sliders and bourdon cakes. You can get a standard drink or a New Orleans special. They advertise grasshoppers and Sazerac

What a happy discovery, to find such an amazing bar in our hotel, the Bourbon Orleans. We went here every one of our three nights we stayed, lured by amazing drinks, friendly staff and amazing musicians. I enjoyed talking to one bartender about some of the infused liqueurs they use. The bar has the classic drinks of New Orleans, but also has some very unique concoctions (which are as visually appealing as they are delicious). They also have a limited menu of bar food, which we did not try (but it looked yummy). The bar has a really cool mural of musicians that sits above the bar itself. It seems as though they offered two different musical acts per day, one in late afternoon and another in the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed having such a cool place so conveniently located right in our hotel.

This is one of the bars that I'd like to return to and try another drink or two. We came later in the afternoon which was nice because it wasn't too crowded. The bartender made a beautiful Pimm's Cup which was so very good. It definitely makes you want to try something else. The bar area looked really nice and if a seat was open there I surely would have chosen that as it is fun to watch the bartenders do their thing and listen to good music at the same time. Definitely make this a stop while on Bourbon Street if you want a cocktail!

This place got it ALL right. From the ambiance, to the live jazz music, to the fun and entertaining bartender (Howard, but I call him "Chip") to the drink - which was a fabulous Old Forester old fashioned. I'm really not sure how else to explain... it was pretty large inside and that day (I think it was a Monday?) it was pretty empty. But I found the live jazz to be fantastic. In fact, all the music I heard over my 5 days in NOLA were amazing. I am highly impressed by the talent on the street and in the bars, I hope all these folks get found out and make it big! Back to the O, though... this bourbon bar had a nice variety of bourbons on the menu and was a nice place to spend a couple hours while I waited on a friend while listening to fantastic music and chatting up the bartender.

Bourbon Orleans Hotel is the perfect stay in the French Quarter, stones throw from the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. Although it's location is in the French Quarter it's ideally tucked away in a corner. Request room facing courtyard with pool ;-) The hotel is the quintessential Nawlins style. It does have its own history too. We loved the location, enjoyed the amenities so much it's a Yelp book mark and we will return.

    Live music of course!

Granted I stopped by late afternoon versus the witching hour (late night) but this bar was a fresh breath that jumped out at me as a walked down Bourbon Street for the first time during last week's visit. Most spots seemed 'wilder' but there was something about here that drew me in immediately. I chuckled at the labeled stools: "Lady Gaga was here"...and Queen Latifah and Tiffany Haddish. Cute touch. I love when you can tell the bartenders are seasoned (aka have seen it all) but are not jaded or rude. For working on this crazy street I was surprised by the ones who were behind the bar. From the kind door guy to the bartender who served me (the bald one, loved him). and as a solo patron/tourist, I felt very welcomed and watching them behind the bar I had a great deal of respect. Given crowd was light, ordered the "Six Minute-shaken Ramos Gin Fizz" because it sounded good, also out of curiosity how it would be prepared. Behold, they have the coolest contraption for that, and yes it took literally 6 minutes. But it was such a tasty cocktail that made other eyes jealous- also love the little details of care like the chilled glass and how he presented it so lovely and took his time. Thanks guys for a great experience and memory.

We stumbled into Bourbon O Bar after a few indulgent days in NOLA, and it ended up being one of our favorite stops! I ordered my very first Ramos Gin Fizz--and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It took the full six minutes to shake (as it should!), and the result was absolute perfection. Creamy, citrusy, and refreshing. Needing a break from fried everything, I went for the Cobb Salad--a great call. It was packed with bacon, blue cheese, and fresh veggies, and the dressing was a delicious surprise. We also shared the cracklins with pimento cheese, which were dangerously good--crispy, savory, and paired perfectly with that creamy, cheesy dip. My husband got the shrimp po'boy, and he was impressed--it was overflowing with shrimp, just the way it should be. The sidewinder fries were crispy and addictive, though a side of ketchup would've taken them over the top. Great cocktails, great food, and a nice little escape from the chaos of Bourbon Street. Highly recommend!

We had so much fun the first time we visited this bar, that we ended up coming back a couple more times. Every bartender was engaging and just a ton of fun, which added to the overall experience and kept us coming back again and again. During our first visit, we tried the Absinthe Drip. Being my first time, it was a fun drink to watch in action. Next time around, I ordered their 6-minute Gin Fizz. Another really fun drink. Finally, I had more than one Pimm's Cup (another gin cocktail). This one was WAY too easy to suck down, but it was Mardi Gras - the day of indulgence. Every time we stopped in, there was live music to put us in the Mardi Gras mood. No matter what time of day it was, the party was always going. I definitely recommend visiting this bar for their amazing drinks, super fun bartenders and great music.

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

Supposedly…read morereservations were hard to get, but that is because they allot most of the place for walk-ins, so you don't need to put in the effort that I did to book a time a month in advance. We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on.
