Amazing and highly recommended! I experienced car trouble on Highway 18 and needed to be towed. Snyder's Tire was closest for a service facility on the USAA map, so my vehicle was left there after hours. The following morning the awesome team at Snyder's looked at my vehicle and determined the issue was an improperly installed air filter which had been done earlier in the day at an quick oil change service center that has a name starting with a 'V'. The issue was quickly fixed and I was on my way! It was explained that I couldn't be charged legally by Snyder's because it was determined the oil change service center was the cause and I went to have them do their job correctly later. We are truly fortunate and blessed to have Snyder's Tire Works near us in VOE. Yesterday, the guys were good enough to plug a tire for me. And all for just $20! Great and quick service, for an affordable price. We have used these guys for years up here. They seem to be the 'best' in town to us. Not long ago, my wife who is disabled with a prosthetic leg, frantically pulled in to their business with a tire going down. According to her account, these guys were busy that day. Per usual. And yet, despite all their service bays being used, and a full parking lot at the time, these guys made time for her. She was go thankful, greatful, and relieved. I had to walk in the snow because nobody would give me a ride to the next two shops to see if they have the tools and I ended up having to go to another location where I was helped. I felt like I was being turned away with no solution, even though I tried my best to accommodate the owner by searching for the tools which they should have on hand at any tire shop is frustrating to see businesses like this in a place where people need service they don't just want it. The mountain can be very dangerous. Be sure to take your tools with you. read more

I live in Crestline: Snyder's did my 2021 Tacoma's front brakes and rotor resurfacing last year for a fair price with veteran discount. This summer the rotor's started to warp due to the braking driving downhill causing my truck to rumble (I guess it's common on the newer Tacoma's) I took it in and they replaced the rotors with drilled and slotted rotors (they cool faster) for a better than fair price, veteran discounted the labor, and did a warranty replacement for the front brake pads (effectively saving me the money from my next brake job). I would be so happy if every business were run like Snyder's tire works. I stopped in with an issue on my left rear tire, ask Johnny if he could check it, and a few seconds after he took the tire off he showed me a spot where a puncture was lodged near the side wall that he was unable to fix. (I was kicking myself for not bringing the tire inflator, left in my garage in LA.) He topped my tire off with a little extra air, gave a word of reassurance that I would be fine if I was only losing a few pounds per day, and sent me on my way free of charge. It was swift, honest, friendly, and very no nonsense. I unfortunately will now have to conclude this matter at the big box retailer that sold me the tires and I am not expecting nearly as nice a tire service experience as at Snyder's. I was able to schedule a smog appointment in a few days, which I needed because I waited last minute for registration... I dropped off my car and the man who helped was very personable and finished the smog in something like 35 minutes! I just went to the consignment store next door while I waited. Mr. Snyder processed my check and was home within the hour. The mechanics there are nice and not creepy at all. They also reset my tire pressure that my dealership didn't even know how to turn off smh... I definitely recommend! read more

Great Honest Business on the Mountain. I have gotten my tires for all our vehicles, sometimes its worth it to get it here vs driving down the hill. I see they help allot of visitors with emergencies. I had two tires that needed to be mounted on my rims. i brought my unidirectional performance tires and custom rims. I also had a slow leak in a donut spare tire. They mounted and balanced the two tires in the correct directional rotation and even saved my custom valve caps. Then they remounted the space saving spare with a new valve and reseated the bead. all done in just a couple of hours. Fantastic service. Came here during a snowstorm asking for help to put chains on our tires and the worker turned us away and said they were too busy but he proceeded to sit down in his chair and do absolutely nothing. They don't make me feel dumb when I don't know what's going on. Once I went to a dealership and they said I would have to replace our transmission. I brought it to Snyder's and they found the problem and it was a lot more financially do able. I've had my tires replaced, oil changes, breaks fixed and all experiences were great. Had two used tires mounted by Snyder's a couple weeks ago, when I went to put them on the truck, they were flat. It was raining when I went back to Snyder's to have them fixed, there was a circle of foamy bubbles around the bead. They obviously did not even leak check the tires, or seal the bead, and charged me $20 each. When I asked them to fix the bead leaks, the dude acting as manager copped attitude and wanted to charge me another $20 to fix their poor work. That's it for me. I can get better service for less money down the hill in San Bernardino. read more

A little over 2.5 years ago, I moved up to the mountain. I asked a co-worker, who was a long time mountain resident, which shop he took his truck to for service. He didn't hesitate, "My father always took his vehicles to Snyder's. Every car I've owned, I've taken to Snyder's." This guy was in his late 60s. Even though I live in Lake Arrowhead, that seemed like a good enough recommendation to me to drive to Crestline. I tried them out and I've been coming back the whole time I've lived up here, recommending them to anyone who needs honest service. Here's an example of their honest service: Last time I went in for new tires and an oil change, I asked them to to an exploratory check of the whole car - to see if anything hidden was wrong. They said I would have to pay for the mechanic's time to do the inspection; and I agreed to that. Now, a bunch of shops would take this as an open door to "find something" and charge for it. Not only did they not "find" anything, but they didn't even charge me for the inspection! I mentioned this to them, thinking they forgot to add it to the bill. They said the mechanic was able to inspect as he was performing the other services and that they didn't see a need to charge me for it. Wow. Full recommendation with no hesitation. read more

I drove in this morning for the first time, because my car was making a bad noise. I suspected it was a wheel bearing going out, but what do I know!? Went for a drive around the lake with the owner and he confirmed my suspicions. Fixed it same day for what I consider to be a very fair price! I just recently moved up here from Huntington Beach and could not be more pleased to have found Snyder's! I will feel very comfortable taking my car there with any future problems... My Sister lives in Lake Arrowhead. We were there for a family weekend. My tire warning lights came on & I didn't want to drive down the mountain with potentially problematic tires. My Sister said Snyder's is where all the locals go. I Called Snyder's & they said come in. The young man (I sound like my Mother) came out, checked which lights, checked my tires, and added five pounds to each tire. He said "No Charge! You're good!"
