I love Jim's Auto! They are a local family run business that treats all customers like friends and family. You get an honest, never inflated estimate and frequent updates regarding the status of your repair/maintenance. Just this weekend my 21 Tacoma wouldn't start. I was able to coast it in neutral down the hill and to the shop with some help from some of the Crestline Firefighters that saw me struggling. The truck was receiving all kinds of electrical system codes and brake system codes. Nate was able to determine that one of aftermarket taillights I had went bad and was shorting out the entire system. I bought OEM taillights at Redlands Toyota and dropped them off. Nate installed the taillights and had me back on the road for only $70! I can't recommend them enough! read more

My neighbor recommended Jim's Auto to me to help with my Dana 70 rear differential because it was making a clunking noise while shifting into reverse. Made an appointment and a mechanic/owner took me in right on time. He spent at least 20 minutes diagnosing the noise and said the driveshaft was fine, but there was play in the yoke. The mechanic/owner offered several solutions to this problem including recommending another shop that specializes in differentials to actually having an expert he trusted to come to his shop to open the differential and do a complete rebuild. This was a reasonable price that would include a locker if I wanted one. The mechanic/owner seemed to bent over backwards to help me, a complete stranger. Just think how he treats his regular customers? He looked very busy, but he took the time to help me and didn't charge me a thing for his troubles, recommendations and solutions. read more

Honest and knows what he is doing. I will go to him every time. Once I was driving down the hill and this loud noise was coming from my front somewhere and drove backup slowly and straight to Jims. He came out pretty fast and had me start it put it in reverse and back forward and knew what it was. A rock got in in between the brakes and drum. He got it out in less than a minute and said no charge, He is just great !!! read more

My check engine light came on and I was panicking a little because I have a long drive planned in a few days. I live down the street from the shop and called in, the woman on the phone was friendly and told me they could help out. I headed over and Nate came out and took a look at my car right away with no wait. He was personable and helpful along with his dog, and within a couple minutes he identified a problem under the hood that was likely the cause for the light. He promptly fixed it, reset the light, told me to bring it back in if there's any more issues - and wouldn't even accept a payment! Obviously a trust worthy shop and a solid mechanic. I do not usually leave reviews but I think these guys deserve it! I did a lot of research to find these gents and they are so lovely in every possible way. I came all the way from Long Beach (hour and 20 min drive) to get a Lift Kit installed for my Subaru because of their experience in the vehicle. Not only were they patient with me but they gave me advise on quality product, fair price and were transparent. Also to note they provided me advice weeks in advance before I even scheduled an appointment, not knowing if I would even use them or not, and they never once ignored my emails. Knowing the demands of a small company and time constraints I made an appointment to get a Lift Kit installed on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. They were on time (first appointment in the morning), friendly, knowledgeable and offered more fun Subaru advice and clubs to join AND picked myself and young cousin up from the Lake after spending the day kayaking so we wouldn't have to walk up hill to get my car back! I will most certainly make the drive again for future mods I want to do! Took my car to Jim's a few weeks back to get a smog. I was told my Catalytic Converter was not legal in California as of July of last year. Nathan was great and gave me suggestions on what to do and where to get a new one. After replacing my Catalytic Converter I returned today and once again Nathan was amazing and gave me great customer service and my vehicle passed with flying colors. Took my car to get a smog check sadly one of the workers an older man not sure if he was the owner I'm guessing he might have been because he felt like it was okay for him to share unsolicited comments about me wearing a mask due to COVID-19 saying it wasn't necessary to wear a mask only weak people wear them and other things. I mentally blocked out his useless information. I will no longer give them business and I will be sharing this experience with friends and family. Disappointed he was so unprofessional. We moved to Crestline 4 years ago so we tried several places then started asking the locals who they use...hands down, Jim's Auto in top town was the recommendation! They were the only place to offer a ride home. It meant a lot, having only one car and I was recovering from back surgery, so my husband needed help.
