My furnace broke about two months ago so I called the company who installed our furnace which we paid a fortune to and who's been servicing it also a fortune. They came out and told me I needed to spend $1300 on a simple seven dollar button. So I had them leave. Another company came out charged me $500 to do absolutely nothing they left. I called another company that again told me it was something else completely differently and I could fix it for $2300. I finally found SoCal air on yelp so I tried them just because they had such good reviews. The technicians Arshen & Uriel arrived exactly on time. They were super nice very knowledgeable. They told me exactly what was wrong with the furnace and fixed it. Their initial service call was more expensive than the three places who ripped me off, but I could've taken a trip to Europe for the prices that the other company was going to charge me. I contacted this vendor given its high rating on yelp. My AC was broken. Technician came out promptly. He said my AC unit needed to be replaced. He said he will get me an estimate for a new unit but never did. So I called the office back 1 week later. The receptionist said that she will have a quote for me by end of the day. Another week went by with no quote. I called her back and she said, again, that she will email me the quote by end ot the day. She didn't. Im not sure why they do this. From start to finish, their service was efficient, professional, and thorough. On July 22nd, 2025 before noon time, their technician-Robert arrived on time and carefully inspected the entire dryer system before starting the work. They removed all lint and debris from the vent and duct using specialized tools, making sure everything was cleared properly. I appreciated how they also cleaned the dryer vent cover and surrounding area, leaving everything tidy. They didn't just stop at cleaning--they went a step further by vacuuming and brushing the vent pipe thoroughly, and then performed airflow and safety testing to make sure the system was working efficiently and safely. Second time using So Cal Air--our 12-year-old two-stage gas-fired HVAC unit needed a new blower motor ($3600) so we decided to replace it with a heat pump unit. Menooa got us on the schedule quickly so that we'd get the rebates (most of which expire in a week) and in two days the old unit was out and the new one was in. It's quieter than the old one, and we're glad to not be using fossil fuels anymore. An added benefit: since the unit requires less energy than the old unit, our solar battery will be able to include it in our whole-home backup. Two weeks ago, I returned home to find it quite warm in the house. I decided to turn on the HVAC that hasn't been on since the summer of last year. It turned on as normal but after about 5 min, it shut down. Everything looked normal on the thermostat but the system wasn't running. I checked the circuit breakers and they had not tripped. I searched yelp for recommendations for a quality HVAC company and So Cal Air was at the top of the ratings list. I am located a little outside of there service area but after speaking to a very helpful and pleasant young lady on the phone, I had an appointment scheduled. Fast forward to today (Monday). Two So Cal Air technician's arrived. I showed they where everything was and they went to work. They explained everything they were going to do before they did it and also explained what they were doing as they did the work. Both technician's were very polite and extremely knowledgeable. They discovered a Contactor in the unit outside went bad which also cause a fuse to blow in the blower unit in the attic. The Contactor and the fuse were replaced, they checked to may sure that the coolant was at the proper level, and tested temperatures at each vent. I wish I had videoed their service. The company I work for has technicians as well and I think our techs could learn some valuable lessons from these So Cal Air tech. The repair was quick and the cost was very reasonable!
